Why does my story disappear?

Went to look for my bra new story, can't find it anywhere. Just posted new chsp

I had the same issue! My story, that I've spent over a year writing, is gone! I was 18 chapters in and now it's gone.

I've never had that tragedy of a vanished story. That is so odd of that occurring...

I do not know where mysteriously disappeared stories go, but I DO know how to mostly prevent it from happening again:

With my personal experience here on this site, I had to learn the hard way that this site does not save drafts; I lost so much work having the site refreshed then coming back to finding my un-submitted work gone.

Then I began writing EVERYTHING on Google Docs or the Apple Notes app and no matter happened to the site, my work was safe.

Therefore, I recommend writing on a more trustworthy site (such as Wattpad or Google Docs) or app (such as the pre-installed Notes app), then copying and pasting your work to this site. So if your story does run away into oblivion again, at least your work--the most important thing--is safe :)

We all learn from mistakes and that's alright!
