Opposites Attract
Different
Tuukka had decided that he would go for a run after making a protein shake, just about the only thing he really knew how to make. Exercising would be the best thing to clear his mind of everything.
He grabbed his ipod, changed into some workout clothes then headed out to run alongside a length of the Charles River.
He had a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach and was upset with himself.
He planned to take out all of his frustration on himself, to run until he physically couldn't anymore.
No more fucking puck sluts.
Katie had just gotten out of her class around 3:30. She'd focused enough to take the notes and keep track of the discussion, but she had a few hours of work to do and wanted to just take a break from it all and get away. She walked a bit until she found a bench facing the Charles River and sat down.
She sat down at a bench near a path and just thought about everything that had gone on. (Katie's outfit)
She thought about her classes and felt comfortable with the amount of work she had so far.
She thought of Cara and Seguin, she could tell Cara would jump on Seguin with any chance she got. With the reputation and stories she's heard about Seguin, she wasn't too excited about whatever the relations between him and her were.
She thought about how she needed to cut down on her drinking in order to lose a bit of weight and get up earlier for runs.
She thought about the Marathon bombers, and how Tsarnaev was being cared for when he really deserved the complete opposite of that, in her opinion.
Then she thought about Tuukka. She had been pushing away her thoughts for a while but Katie figured she should just let it all out.
Tuukka had really done nothing wrong to me at the club. He only asked to dance, and I said no. I hope I wasn't rude? He was a gentleman and walked me home. I fell and he carried me. That's it.
Except, why does it bother me so much that he slept with that girl? I've only met him once... so he carried me home, big deal?
That was probably the only time I'll see him again, outside of a hockey rink, where he's the star and I'm.. me.
I guess he's just another hockey player, who fucks puck bunnies and plays girls left and right.
I just thought he was kind of different.
But it's like we're complete opposites. He's a Bruin... I'm just a college student.
He's rich, and I'm just getting into more debt from medical school.
I have to focus on my studies, he has to focus on stopping a puck.
He's internationally famous, and only a few people really care about me.
He has people fighting over him left and right, and I haven't been on a date in 6 months.
He's Tuukka Rask. And I'm just Katherine Rose.
Katie's mind poured out all of her thoughts until she settled on one final conclusion:
I'm not going to be a puck slut and I'm not going to fall for his fucking tricks.
