Zoe walked out to where Andrea and Michaela were standing and they immediately knew that something bad had happened. Zoe's mascara stained cheeks were the give away. When she got close enough she mumbled something about going home before Michaela and Andrea pulled her into a hug.

Everyone kept quiet on the ride home. No one needed an explanation about what had happened earlier and no one would ask. Zoe could either keep quiet or tell them. They only Andrea and Michaela knew was that they would comfort Zoe until she wasn't crying herself to sleep.

The second everyone got home, Zoe got out of the car, rode up in the elevator and ran into the house. She shut the door behind her and ran to her room and locked the door.

By the time Patrick had cleaned himself up practice was almost over. Toews had seen Zoe leave and the tears rolling down Patricks cheeks. He let Patty have some time to himself because everyone knew he needed it.

Patrick skated on the ice and shot some pucks. Following along with what coach was saying, but the whole time he kept going over and over what had happened with Zoe. He was thinking so long that the whole team had left the ice. Practice was over. Toews skated over to Patrick and yet again put a hand on his shoulder.

"Please tell me she came back," Patrick said with a cracking voice from all the tears still falling from is eyes. Toews just sighed knowing exactly what Pat was talking about. Unfortunately, Zoe hadn't come back so Toews just brought Patrick back to the locker room. They stripped their gear off but neither of them realized the whole team was still in there. Wondering what was happening with Patrick.

"Kane what was up with you at practice?" Shaw said from behind Patrick. He jumped not knowing other people were in the locker room other than him and Jonathan. He turned around to see the whole team staring at him with rage and anger for not even trying during practice.

"Guys leave it alone," Toews said warning the team not to start the water works.

"No. Why was he slacking off at practice. He's got no reason to," Sharpie said not letting Kane get away with not trying as hard as everyone else.

"Just stuff with Zoe," Patrick said not knowing if he should of said she dumped him or their thing ended. He didn't even know if they were anything.

"A girl. You're gonna practice like shit over a girl?" Shaw said even more angry.

Toews just shook his head before saying, "A girl that he's in love with, but who tonight told him she couldn't be with him." The guys just looked at Jonathan before looking at Patrick. He didn't even have the energy to deny he was in love with Zoe. He knew he'd being lying if he denied it. The guys' expressions changed from anger to sympathy. They knew Patrick had fallen hard for Zoe, but they thought she felt the same. She did. She just wouldn't show it.

"Man I'm so sorry," Shaw said before slapping Patrick on the back. Patrick just nodded his head before getting sympathetic looks from everyone else.

"Why can't she be with you?" Sharpie asked when he walked up to Kane.

"She's dated hockey players and every time she got her heartbroken. She didn't want me to do the same thing all those other guys did. But I wouldn't. I couldn't hurt her."

"Then tell her that," Toews said now wondering why he even let Zoe out of his grasp.

"I did. Or at least I tried to," Kane said now wondering exactly what everyone else was wondering, why he let Zoe leave.

"We all know you didn't try as hard as you should of," Andrew said before walking out of the locker room. He turned around, "Go get her and try harder." Kane knew he needed to go to Zoe's and convince her that he would never hurt her.

He would tell her that he was falling in love with her. Hoping she felt the same way.

Zoe had been in her room since they got home earlier that day. Every where she went she just kept imagining the kiss and telling Patrick she couldn't be with him. It was no surprise to her when he was standing in her doorway. Looking at her with pleading eyes.

"Patrick what are you doing here?"

"I'm not going to hurt you Zoe. I couldn't hurt you. I want to be with you and even though we only just met, I feel like i've known you for forever. I can't imagine a day of not seeing your smiling face. So please just please give me a chance. Give us a chance," Patrick said before wiping the tears spilling out of Zoe's eyes.

"Patrick I can't. And I think you should go," Zoe said. Removing Patricks hands from her cheeks and moving across the room to open the door for him.

"I get it. And I'll leave. I just want you to know that I would love you more than anybody ever could. I could fill your day with laughs and smiles because that's all you do to me. You make me laugh and smile. I just wanted you to know you mean way too much to me. Too much to not let you know how much I like you," Patrick whispered in Zoe's ear before shuffling his feet out of the room and out of the apartment Zoe lived in.

Zoe shut the door before letting everything Patrick had said fill her ears. Why did she just push him away. Why didn't she kiss him and tell him to never let her go. She should've, but Zoe was too stubborn to realize Patrick would never hurt her. Not intentionally anyway.

Zoe couldn't handle all the emotion that this day had brought. She didn't want to feel it. Zoe sat on her bed and before long her eyes were closing. Closing to the thought of Patrick. The man she was in love with.

Zoe still hadn't come to Patrick. A day later and he was sitting in the locker room before practice started. Patrick knew he had to let it go for now. He had practice and he couldn't let his team down. They had a game coming up and they needed to win it. Patrick was focused. Brokenhearted but focused.

He didn't even hear someone sneak up behind him. People had been doing that lately. He thought it was one of teammates and turned around to find the culprit.

"Zoe," Escaped his lips before he could really process that she was standing in front of him.

"If you hurt me. I'm done. I won't come back."

Patrick had processed what she had just said before it even escaped her mouth.

"I won't, I promise." And with those four words Zoe had put her lips on Patricks. He wanted to stay here for forever. He would. He could feel Zoe's tears and he felt his own coming. He would never hurt her.

He would only love her. He promised.
