Chapter 5: The Hospital
"Jon call 911 now!" Patrick yelled as Jon started to call
Jon: We need help as soon as possible!
Police: What happened and where are you?
Jon: My friends little brother said it hurt to breath, then he passed out. we're condo 845 at the Trump Tower (fake address)
Police: We're sending someone now. It would help if you went down to the lobby.
Jon: Ok we're bringing him down there now. Please hurry! Bye
*Jonathan's Pov*
Patrick picked up, what it seemed like, his lifeless brother. Jonathan had never seen Kaner this scared before. Jon called the whole team and their coach to tell them all what had happened. They all said to let them know what happened when we got to the hospital. The ambulance showed up and the ER people took Christian. Patrick and I had to follow them to the hospital. When we finally got to the hospital we rushed to the front desk asking for Christian Kane and they told us were he was and that we had to wait. Patrick looked so stressed, scared and worried. I wanted to be able to tell him it would be ok, but I didn't know if it would be.

The whole team showed up within an hour or so, Coach Q said he wouldn't be able to but he hopes Christian gets better. "Hey Kaner want food or something?" Shaw asked.
A stressed Patrick Kane looked up with blood shot eyes from crying, he nodded his head no, not being able to speak, Sharpie walked over to Kaner and sat by him telling him everything would be alright and that Christian is a strong kid.
The doctor cleared his throat, "Christian Kane" Everyone stood up. "His dad" he said.
Patrick stayed standing, "Um his parents pasted away when he was 5, I'm his brother."
The doctor signaled Patrick Kane over, "Your brother will be alright" Patrick sighed with relief, "but, he needs to keep his stress low and not over do it."
"What was wrong?" Patrick asked, scared for what he was about to be told.
"We checked his records, your brother was born with a larger heart than most people, which causes his heart rate to speed up faster and beat harder and faster as well. Also, his main artery is smaller than it should be, which causes him to pass out if he isn't careful. We would like to put a heart monitor on him,to monitor his heart rate. In a month he will come back, and if we feel he needs surgery to correct it, then it is up to you whether or not to get the surgery done."
Patrick nodded his head and thanked the doctor.
Kaner walked into Christians room and was happy to see his brother awake and ok. The whole team walked in when Patrick was hugging Christian and Kaner started to cry.
"Awe look at lil Pat Kaner" they all said.
Christian closed his eyes as the doctor walked in to put the heart monitor on.
"You will have to leave this on you, it hooks on to either your belt, belt loop, and just clip it on to your shorts or sweats. When you shower, you take off the electronic part first, but leave the sticky pads on. There meant to get wet, there water proof so its fine. In the event that they do come off, heres a few extra, but we ask you leave them on. Don't over do anything and just relax for the next couple of days." Christian thanked the doctor and got unhooked from the hospital machines and got in Patricks car to head home.
*Christians Pov*
I hated being in the hospital! Thank god I didn't have to stay over night! It was really nice of all the guys to come and see me. When I saw my brother it scared me. Its like when you see your dad cry, you just can't handle that. This heart monitor is really annoying! The sticky pads hurt too! Anyways we're back at the condo so I'm going to go upstairs and go to bed!

Patrick and Jon walk upstairs with Christian, they both see how tired he is, he actually falls asleep waiting for Patrick to get a new key to the room because they locked themselves out. Kaner gets the key and Jon carries Christian to their room.
He didn't mind carrying him he weighted nothing. Jon lays Christian in bed and tucks him in.
He quietly shuts the door, "today was a long day, eh?" Jon asks Kaner.
"Yea, I'm just happy Christians ok" Kaner said smiling.
"How come he isn't in school or anything?" Jon asked looking on fb seeing school pictures.
"Oh fuck! I was supposed to sign him up online for home schooling! Wanna remind me tomorrow?"
Jon agrees to remind him tomorrow and with that Kaner gets up and goes to bed, as does Jonathan.
