Up and Coming
Chapter 6
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now approximately 5 minutes away from landing in St. Paul, Minnesota, we are beginning our descent, and the airport will come into view soon. We are on track to land by 4:30 PM Pacific time, 6:30 PM Central Daylight time. There may be turbulence during our descent, so please fasten your seatbelt, and refrain from leaving your seat." The announcement blared through the speakers.
I pulled out the camera, and turned it on.
"Hey guys. We are about to land in Minnesota, and the airport should come into view really soon." I said, showing the view out the window.
The plane broke through the clouds, and the airport came into view, with the lights on the runways turned on, but the light from the sun still sufficient.
"Look at that." I marveled, panning across the airport. "It's beautiful."
Mike groaned beside me, and the plane lurched downwards, before catching itself, and continuing on the smooth descent.
We got closer and closer to the airport, and I heard the wheels fold down from the bottom of the plane.
We glided over the fence at the end of the runway, and closer to the runway.
The plane jolted, and bumped as we hit the runway with the back wheels, and the front followed shortly after. I heard the screech of metal and rubber colliding, putting all of the planes power into stopping, and we slowed, until we were going at a speed of about 30 kilometers per hour.
The plane continued the rest of the way down the runway, and turned off at the end, pulling up to a gate in the VIP section of the airport. I heard a loud clank as the gate connected with the plane, and I knew the doors were being opened, and security was setting up for the plane to release it's passengers and cargo.
I heard a hiss, and the door opened at the front of the plane. I took a deep breath. The ride was over.
