Don't Get Laid Where You Get Paid
~Getting The Hang of It~
Ever since the dinner, we've been getting right into the swing of things. For the first few weeks, myself and the others learned what we had to do exactly, where thing's were around the building, the programs we had to use for various reasons, and so much more! It's kinda overwhelming. The boys have been practicing hard lately in preparations for their first game tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins.
So today they both have a press day. Sidney has a ton of press, Jordan does too, just not as much as Sidney. He's always gonna be more work than anyone else on the team. I'm walking down the hall towards the entrance from the parking lot to wait for Sidney. God, I hope I don't mess anything up today, I really need to prove myself to them, especially Wes who doesn't think I can do it. When Sidney finally arrived, I welcomed him with a warm smile.
"Hey Sidney, how are you today?" I asked, watching him walk over, looking very sharp might I add.
"Hi Kayla, I'm great, you?"
"I'm good thanks. Alright so first we have a huge press conference with just yourself, and that's until 10:30. Then you have a bit of a break to eat and what not. Then you go back and have another huge press conference with some of the other players, and after that you have a one on one for some special for TSN,"
"Geez, that's a lot for only a couple of hours," he chuckled, holding the door open for me to walk through.
"Thank you," I said, ducking under his arm. Ever since dinner we got more close, both Sid and I, and Jordan and I. "So are you nervous?"
"Not really...I always have the dumb fear that I'm gonna say something I'm gonna regret," he laughed slightly, looking over at me.
"Why?"
"Well I don't know...I guess because there's not too much to say when you first start a season, and I don't wanna say something bad to make me sound negative or to make me seem like a dick."
"I'd be worried about that too, but it's not you I'm worried about," I made a face.
"Jordan?" he questioned. I tried to hide my smile but I couldn't hide it. Once he saw it, he smiled and laughed with me.
"Yeah, he's kind of a big mouth, but you don't need to worry about him with press conferences or interviews. He filters his words for those things, otherwise he's a loose cannon."
"Very well put." We entered into the waiting room, where Sidney and I were the only one's in the room. He took a seat on the couch, and leant forward, placing his hands together. He took a deep breathe, making me notice he was in fact a bit nervous.
"You okay Sid?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess. I don't know why I'm getting nervous all of a sudden."
"If it helps, I am too." He instantly shot up at me and gave me a look.
"Why would you be nervous?" he questioned, licking his lips, and leaning forward, interested in what my answer was.
"Well because I have to make sure that two people are where they need to be, and are happy at all times, and to be presentable and look like Ione-hundred percent know what I'm doing when I only know around seventy," I said slightly laughing at the end. He shook his head, and got up, standing straight in front of me.
"Well if you need any help, I'm here for you, and you have nothing to worry about. I got you," he then leant in almost like he was going to kiss me.
"Thanks. Sidney I..." once he was about to kiss me, someone yelled something from outside of the door.
"Alright Mr. Crosby, time to go!"
"Thank you," he replied to whoever it was. He sighed, and began to leave, "You coming?" he asked.
"Yeah," I said, completely dumbfounded. I can't believe he really tried that. Then we were off to his first interview session.
