*Jon’s POV*

When she said it I couldn't believe it and I must have had a weird look on my face because she started to cry, got up, and ran to our bedroom. I ran after her and found her crying on our bed. “Baby…” I said as I sat down next to her. “I knew you’d be pissed!” She said as she started to cry harder. She thought I was pissed? “Babe,” I said turning her over to face me and lifting her chin so she was looking at me, “I’m not pissed. Shocked, yes, nervous, yes, surprised yes, but not pissed… not in the least. I mean yeah it’s sooner than we planned, but this is amazing.” I said as I pulled her onto my lap and thought about it for a minute… I’m gonna be a dad, I thought as she stopped crying. “I’m gonna be a dad.” I said out loud. “And an amazing one at that.” She said leaning on my chest. “And you’re going to be an amazing mom.” I said lifting her chin and kissing her on the nose. We sat there for a while just thinking about the fact that we we’re gonna be parents.

“I don’t want tell people until after Abby has the baby… this is her time and I don’t want to take that away from her.” Arianna said as we cuddled in bed and I played with her hair. “I’m fine with that.” I said, still mesmerized that I was even going to be a parent. Yes Arianna and I had talked about having kids, we talked about it a lot, but we weren't planning on having them this soon. “So what about names?” I asked thinking of a few. “Well I don’t know. I've always like the name Alexander for a boy and Anabella or Lucy for a girl.” She said as she put her chin on my chest and looked at me. “We could call them Alex and Bella for short.” I said as I thought about things. I was imagining having a little hockey player son and going to his games and teaching him how to skate. “So you like them?” She asked. “I love them. So Alexander…” I said thinking of something we could use as a middle name. “Alexander Jonathan?” She asked going with the tradition in my family to have your father’s name as your middle name. “And Anabella Lucy Toews?” I suggested putting the two girls’ names she liked together. “Perfect.” She said as she leaned in to kiss me.

-2 months later-

*Arianna’s POV*

“I can’t believe she’s finally here.” I said as I held Abby and Patrick’s baby girl who they had named Amelia. “You’re telling me.” Patrick said as he kissed Abby’s forehead and beamed at his little girl. Abby had been in labor for 14 hours and seeing all the pain she’d gone through made me even more nervous, but the outcome was amazing. “God you’re gonna be such a good mom.” Duncan said from across the room. “Yeah, when are you guys gonna have kids? I wanna see baby Tazers running around.” Seabs joked from next to me. I looked at Jon then at Abby because I didn't know what to say. “Well…” started Abby and I knew she wanted us to tell everyone. The whole team was here and so were the wives so it would be the perfect time, but I was freaking out. “Well,” I continued, “you’ll be seeing little Tazers running around in about 5 months.” I said blushing as Jon wrapped his arm around my shoulder and kissed my head. Everyone looked shocked except Abby. Once Patrick figured out that Abby knew, he was even more shocked, “You knew?” He asked pointing at Abby, now even more shocked that she was able to keep that a secret from him. She just nodded happily. After that everyone burst out clapping and cheering and congratulated us until it died down. “Wait, why did you wait so long to tell us?” Asked Shawsy from the corner. “Well we didn't want to take away Abby’s moment, so we wanted to wait until after she had the baby and personally, we wanted to wait longer, but Abby decided either we were going to tell you or she was so…” Jon said smiling at Abby and then at me. “Tazer’s gonna be a father… damn, I was just getting used to the thought of Kaner being a dad!” Corey joked from behind me and I gave him a slap on the arm. “I mean I saw it coming.” Said Abby, Sharpie’s wife. “I've been waiting for this since the wedding.” She said hugging me. “Well gee we wanted to wait longer but this one never leaves me alone.” I said pointing to Jon as he started to blush. “Okay guys, we hear enough about sex lives from Abby and Kaner, we don’t need to hear about yours too.” Shawsy said pretending to be disgusted. “Well at least you didn't walk in on them.” Abby said from the bed. “Twice.” Added Patrick holding up two fingers. “Oh god, can we not bring that up please?” I asked covering me face and turning to face Jon so I could hide. “That’s awful.” Said Dayna from the corner. “You’re telling us.” Patrick answered from the bed.

The rest of the day was spent passing around Amelia and talking about what Jon and I were going to name the baby and stuff. “Alright, I gotta ask, who are the godparents?” Corey asked as he came back in the room and sat down. “Well, we were thinking, Abby and Sharpie.” I said looking at Abby and Pat nervously. “Hey, I don’t need to be dealing with two babies so I’m glad you chose them.” Abby said and then smiled. “So? You guys in?” Jon asked Sharpie and Abby. “Of course we are!” Sharpie yelled as he came over and gave us hugs, followed by Abby.
I couldn’t have been happier with how things were turning out for us… The nerves were still there, but they were going away and as I looked up and saw Jon smiling at me I knew everything was going to be fine. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to do this with and I knew this was going to be easier with him around, supporting me the whole way.
