Dreams Do Come True

*next morning*

I woke up on the couch covered with a blanket. I guess Jon and I fell asleep on the couch sometime last night. But where is he? I looked over at the clock on the tv to see what time it was. It was only 8:30, and Jon didn't have practice till 10. I got up off the couch and went to find him. I looked everywhere in our house. I looked in the kitchen, our bedroom, our bathroom, and the entertainment room but I couldn't find him anywhere! I was getting very scared, but then all of a sudden I heard the front door open so I went rushing down the stairs to see if it was Jon. When I got half way down the stairs I saw just the person I wanted to see,
"Jon!" I said running down the stairs and jumping into his arms.
"oh hey baby! Are you okay?"
"yeah now I am! Where were you?!" I said getting down off of him.
"I went to Starbucks to get some coffee. Didn't you check my text?"
"No... I never even looked at my phone." I said blushing.
"that's why you didn't know where I was. I'm sorry I should have called you too." He said kissing me.
"It's fine it's not your fault. So what did you get me?!" I asked trying to grab the coffee from his hands.
"just your favorite coffee for the holiday season." He said holding the coffee away from me.
"You got me the peppermint mocha?!"
"and a chocolate chip muffin!"
"yay! I love you so much!" I said standing on my tippy toes to kiss him and then taking the coffee and muffin from him.
"Haha I love you too." He said kissing my cheek. "I'm going to go get me stuff together for practice."
"it's only 9. You don't have practice for an hour. " I said sipping my coffee.
"I know. But I have to stop and pick something up before practice so I have to leave a little bit earlier."
"oh. What is it??"
"it's a secret, so I can't tell you."
"is it for me?!"
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't." He said giving me a wink and going upstairs.

I couldnt help but imagine all the things he could be picking up. but I couldn't imagine why he would need to get me anything. I don't need anything, it's not my birthday or anything. This is so weird. Then again he's probably trying to spoil just like he always does. He never learns does he?

"hey babe I'm leaving. I'll see you when I get back." He said coming up from behind to hug me.
"Okay bye baby. Have a good practice. I love you!"
"I love you too!" He said kissing me and then walking out the door.
Is it me or is he very smiley today??


*Jon's POV*
I really hate lying to her but I want to surprise her. I found this along time ago when we started dating and I was planing on buying it but I didn't think I would have to buy it so soon. Oh well it will be nice to see someone special to me wearing my name on their back.

*at practice*
"hey kaner! What's up?"
"Not much. What's up with you?"
"nothing."
"then why are you so smiley captain?"
"what are you talking about?" I said feeling my cheeks get hot.
"then why are you sweating and your cheeks are getting all red?"
"okay fine. You swear not to say anything?!"
"yes now spill!"
"Jacqueline's pregnant." I said trying to hold back a smile.
"WHAT?!"
"Will you shut up?! No one else knows and I kinda wanna keep it that way." I said becoming annoyed with my best friend.
"Okay sorry. But oh my god your having a baby?!"
"Yeah I guess."
"what do you mean 'you guess'?"
"I mean yes we are, I'm just still in shock. And it's not like it's that noticeable yet."
"oh really?"
"yeah she's only three weeks along. She told me this yesterday after I came home."
"oh okay. Wait it's been three weeks since your guys' honeymoon, wait a mintue!"
"yes, yes that's when it happened now will you keep your voice down!"
"yes sorry!"
"thank you!"
"oh wait, what's that?" He asked looking at the bag in my hand.
"oh it's a new Toews jersey."
"For who?"
"none of your business."
"who's it for?"
"The baby. I saw it when Jacqueline and I started dating and I always hoped I would be able to buy it one day but I never expected it to be this soon."
"wow. Yeah I know how you feel I saw a Kane one when I took Summer shopping and I plan on getting when and if the issue comes up."
"it will. You just have to marry her first!" I said punching him in the arm.
"I know I know. We're getting there!" He said laughing
"you better be. We probably should get ready for practice."
"yeah we probably should. See out on the ice."

*after practice*
"Hey Tazer what was up with you out there?"
"What do you mean Sharpie?"
"that was not captain serious out there. It was like you had complete dropped the whole serious thing."
"yeah what's up?" Asked the rest of the guys.
"nothing. Why does something have to up for me to be unserious at practice?!"
"because it's not you." Said Andrew Shaw.
"nothing's going on guys."
"he's lying." Said Corey Crawford.
"Guys, just leave him alone." Said Patrick Kane.
"Kaner knows something we don't. That's why he's saying that." Said Brent Seabrook.
"Thanks for trying kaner." I said. "Okay fine you guys wanna know what's up?"
"yes!!" They all shouted in unison.
"Jacqueline and I are having a baby."
"WHAT?!"
"Yes. She's three weeks pregnant."
"how long have you known this and not shared it with us Tazer?!" Asked Duncan Keith.
"I just found out yesterday. "
"Wow congrats captain!" Said Patrick sharp giving me a pat on the back.
"Thanks Sharpie."
"you nervous?" Asked Corey Crawford.
"No not really. At least not yet."
"good don't be. Your only going to freak yourself out which will freak Jacqueline out. And that won't be good." Said Sharp.
"thanks guys for all the advice. I appreciate it."
"anytime captain." Said Brent.
"Whenever you need it." Said Duncan.

*back at home*
"Hey baby I'm home!"
"hey Jonny!! I missed you." She said jumping into my arms like she always does.
"I missed you too. Actually you were the topic at practice today."
"what do you mean?"
"well I told kaner about the baby."
"you did?"
"yeah only because he asked me what was up with me being so smiley. So I told him. Then I guess I wasn't my serious self during practice so the guys were asking all these questions so I finally just told everyone."
"haha see I knew you were acting strange this morning! I knew something was up."
"what I can't be excited to have a baby?! Fine then I'll be mad about it."
"no don't be mad. I think it's adorable that your excited! I like it." She said giving me a kiss. "so don't ever stop."
"okay I won't. I promise." I said finishing what she started. "Oh you wanna see what I got?"
"yes! Is it the secret thing you had to get before practice?"
"it is." I said pulling her to the couch with me.
"I wanna see!!"
"okay close your eyes."
"okay there's closed."
"okay when I say open you can open them. Okay?"
"yep!"
"okay on the count of three; 1,2,3!"
"oh my gosh Jonny!! It's so cute! I love it!"
"I thought you would. I saw it along time ago, when we started dating and I always hoped to buy it one day for our son or daughter."
"awe baby I love it! I can't wait to see our baby in it! Thank you you Jonny. I love you." She said kissing me.
"Your welcome baby girl. Anything for you. I love you too."

I could get used to spoiling her like I used to. Then again I always will. I guess I would so anything for that woman. I can't wait to see what she'll be like as a mother. Hopefully I'll be just as good of a father.
