Sex and the City

Chapter 1 (from old account)

Kate looked down at the glossy magazine in front of her. VOGUE was printed in large letters across a picture of her standing, surrounded by over 50 Hermès Birkin bags. She still couldn't believed that she had made the cover of the magazine. She wasn't a supermodel or a movie star, like most of the people that grace the cover. Yet, she was more than attractive enough to be worthy of the coveted spot. She cozyed into her monogrammed bedding, and opened the issue for the first time. Her hands shook as she flipped through the pages. Finally, she arrived at the beginning of the spread that was about her.

"Everybody's Favorite IT GIRL"
was splashed across the left page. Across from it was a picture of her standing confidently in a gorgeous Diane Von Furstenburg dress. She flipped the page quickly. Her mind was racing. What did they write down? What did they think of her? Kate was used to reading about herself in magazines, but most of the time it was a meaningless gossip tabloid that she could easily forget about. She pointed her polished nails underneath the first line, following the words one by one.
"The girl who inspired the infamous character of Blair Waldorf is no short of a real life Queen Bee. Kate Kempner is heir to her father's swanky champagne company; Veuve Clicquot, and to her mother's fashion house; Hermès. Her brother is Chace Kempner, star of the hit tv show, Gossip Girl, and her godmother is Vogue's very own editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Her rap sheet of close ones includes British model/actor ex boyfriend, Alex Pettyfer, and socialite best friends like Prince Harry, Bee Shaffer, and Olivia Palermo..."

Her reading was interrupted by her brother, Chace.

"Hey... You wanna wake and bake?" the brunette asked.
Kate turned around, and saw her brother standing in the door way. Chace was only wearing his boxers and looked hungover from last night. His hair was all knotted and sticking up in the back. He really was a real life version of his Gossip Girl character, Nate Archibald. He was well known for being a hot trust fund party boy, and his younger sister wasn't any less of a wild child.

"Obviously..." She responded.
They both walked out of her bedroom, and downstairs to the living room. There were at least 10 different wine glasses on the coffee table, the pillows were thrown everywhere, and somebody was still sleeping on the couch. This was the usual scene that Kate woke up to in her Manhattan apartment. It was the beginning of her summer before college and she had an endless supply of money and champagne thanks to her family. The figure under the blankets on the couch was struggling to sit up.

"Holy hell, I'm hungover" they said.

Ed Westwick's face appeared from the covers. Ed was one of Chace's costars from Gossip Girl, and also his best friend. Even though Chace didn't actually live at Kate's place, the two guys were frequently there- especially when they were filming their show. The hotel that they were put in during production always had lots of paparazzi and random people waiting outside for them to come out. They had much more privacy at Kate's place, as it was a high security building that countless celebrities and privileged people lived in.
"So, how many skanks slept over last night?" Kate asked jokingly. "3 if you count yourself" Chace joked back.

They all laughed, still a little drunk from the night before. Chace loaded the bong sitting in front of him on the coffee table. He handed it and the lighter to his sister.
"Ladies first" he said.

Tyler Seguin was next door, unpacking his new apartment when he began to smell weed. He looked up from the box that he was cutting open, and saw that Brad was already looking up at him.
"Marchy... You smell that?" Tyler asked his teammate from across the room.

Brad inhaled deeply and smiled. They both laughed and went back to unpacking. Tyler was excited to finally be moved in to his new apartment. He had bought it right after winning the Stanley Cup, as a reward to himself for winning the cup his rookie season in the NHL. He still didn't know New York City that well, but he had heard that the apartment building was full of young "celebrities" like himself. He hated when people called him that. He wasn't a "celebrity", he was just a pro hockey player. He still didn't understand why people wanted to take pictures of him, be seen with him, or write about him. He hated the attention at first, but quickly became okay with it once he realized how it'd help his sex life. Not that he had any problem getting laid before. He just had an overwhelming amount of girls throwing themselves at him every time he went out. And he had been taking advantage of that. Unfortunately, almost all the girls he had hooked up with or partied with posted pictures of him drunk or half naked. He was becoming well known as the city's new resident heart throb, and there was a lot of proof on the Internet to back that reputation up.
"Let's go get beers." Tyler said, while throwing a pile of clothes on the ground.
Brad shrugged and gladly got up. It wasn't even 2 pm yet.
"Ayyyy, lets get another round, Segs!" Brad slapped his best friend on the back.

Brad was decently drunk, and was making a scene in the bar. There were people eating lunch and taking pictures of the famous guys getting hammered during the day. Tyler shook his head while laughing at his drunk friend.
"Nahh, Marchy. Let's go home." Tyler responded, half coherently.

When they arrived at Tyler's new apartment, they both laid down on top of piles of clothing. Tyler looked at his watch while letting out a sigh. It was almost 8 pm. How had they been down there drinking for that long? Brad was laughing to himself while typing on his phone. Knowing him, he was probably sending out a mass text to every girl in his phone. Brad looked up from his phone.
"Wait! Somebody just told me that Kate Kempner lives in the apartment next door!" Brad slurred. "How'd you know that you creep?"
"I mean I'dddd creep on her..." Brad said with a grin on his face.

Tyler shook his head and let out a laugh.

"She iss pretty hot." Tyler agreed.
"Let's go next door and introduce ourselves!" Brad yelled out.

Brad got up and somehow managed to get Tyler to do the same. Neither of them gave a second thought to what they were doing. They had just won the Stanley Cup less than a week ago. They were local heroes and celebrities. Girls loved them.

Tyler looked down at his outfit. It was pretty wrinkled from being drunk and lying around. He was wearing a white t-shirt with thin black stripes. His black shorts hung loosely from his hips as he stood in front of the door, waiting for an answer. He could hear multiple people inside, as well as some rap music. He was about to start rapping along to the music when the apartment door swung open. A petite brunette stood in front of the two drunk idiots, confused as to why two NHL players were in her door way. She was wearing black leggings with an oversized grey v-neck. She had her hair up in a messy pony tail. Tyler couldn't help but stare at her cleavage. She had what looked like D cups on her tiny yet curvy frame. It felt like somebody had jolted him. He had seen plenty of pictures of her before, but she was way hotter in real life.

"Hi...." She said, still unsure as to what they were doing.
"Hey... Sorry. I'm..." Tyler began while laughing nervously.
He looked over at Brad, only to see that his drunken friend was blatantly staring at the girl's boobs. Tyler smacked Brad to get him to snap out of it.
"I'm Tyler and this is Brad" Tyler finished.

The brunette stepped forward and extended her right hand to Tyler. She flashed a smile that was powerful and infectious.
"Hey guys, I'm Kate" she said, coolly.
"We're not stalkers or anything- I just moved next door. We both play for the Rangers..." Tyler explained, confidently.
"Yeah, I recognize you two..." Kate began, but was cut off by her brother.
"What about the Rangers?!" Chace yelled from inside the apartment.
He had gotten up off the couch and ran over to the door when he heard somebody mention his favorite team. Chace stumbled over to the door, extremely stoned and drunk, and threw his arms up out of excitement when he saw two of the Rangers' best players standing in front of him.
"Holy shit! Marchy and Seguin!!" Chace yelled at them, while giving both of them hugs.
"This is my older brother, Chace." Kate explained.
"Nice to meet you, man." Tyler said while shaking Chace's hand.
"You guys should come in and smoke or have a few drinks!" Chace suggested.
Kate stood off to the side, quietly leaning against the door frame. She nodded, agreeing that Brad and Tyler should come in. Chace turned around and led them in to the apartment. Kate stepped aside as the guys passed through the doorway. Brad was quite short, but Tyler was much taller than her. At only 5'2", Tyler towered over Kate as he walked by. She was immediately attracted to him, and remembered seeing him at the games Chace had brought her along to.
The apartment was two stories, just like Tyler's but it had been completely renovated and customized to Kate's taste. The apartment was very chic and had been featured in Elle Decor when she first finished renovating it. There was a large navy sectional across the way, that Ed Westwick and some random blonde were sitting on. It looked like they had been drinking for most of their day too. Tyler stopped looking around the place when he saw a golden retriever puppy running over as the guests made their way into the apartment. Tyler saw the adorable puppy coming towards him and bent down immediately to play with him. Meanwhile, Brad and Chace bee-lined for the couch and bong that was in clear sight. Kate stopped and smiled when she saw Tyler playing with her puppy.

"That's Buoy. I just adopted him a week ago."
Tyler looked up from talking to the dog.
"I'm getting a chocolate lab on Sunday."
"What are you gonna name it?" Kate asked.
"I'm thinking Marshall."

Kate liked that he too was an animal lover. It made him seem a like a little less of a douche. She continued past the dog, and Tyler followed behind her.

"This is Ed's uh, friend..." Kate tried to introduce the skank to Tyler and Brad but couldn't remember what the girl's name was.
"I'm Ashleyyyy" the girl chimed in, winking at Tyler.

Tyler tried not to laugh in the girl's face. He sat down across from Kate, next to Ashley. The bong was passed to Kate, and she took a big hit out of it. She looked up, and gestured to Tyler.

"You want some?"
"Yesss please." He reached out, anxiously waiting for her to pass it to him.
"I thought athletes aren't supposed to smoke?" Kate said with a grin on her face.
"Season's over. Now the fun can begin." Tyler explained.

Tyler passed the bong to Ashley. She made a point to put her hand on his when he passed it to her. She looked up at him through her fake eyelashes and let out an even more fake giggle. Tyler ignored her desperate attempt at getting him to notice her. She was nothing he hadn't already been with. The six of them sat around, passing the bong around and chatting.

Kate could feel Tyler's eyes watching her, as if he were mesmerized. Ashley kept trying to distract him by putting the attention on to her, but Tyler wasn't willing to pay her any mind. She was clearly more interested in Tyler than Kate was. Drinks were refilled, and they went back to smoking. Kate passed the bong to Tyler and his giant hands touched hers- feeling electric to the touch. They made eye contact and she kind of lost her breath for a second. She coughed and got up to get water from the kitchen. Tyler announced to the group that he also needed water and followed her. After an excessive amount of awkward but lust-filled looks exchanged back and forth, Tyler inched closer to her. He brought his thumb up to her cheek and wiped a bit of ash off from the bong.

"Let's go out sometime." Tyler suggested.
"No thanks, playboy." Kate responded with a smirk.
"Ohhh, so you think I'm the player?" Tyler joked, hinting that he had heard about her too.
"Yeah, I do. And so does everybody else."
"Don't believe everything you read. Can I at least have your number?" He pleaded.
"I'm sure you have plenty of people to talk to on the phone." She wasn't going to ease up.
"Neighbors are supposed to have each other's numbers. In case of emergency, you know."
"Is that so?" Kate said, crossing her arms.
"Yeah, everybody knows that." Tyler said, cooly.
"Fine," she gave up.

He laughed confidently and amused, while handing her the iPhone. She rolled her eyes and grabbed it from him. She handed the phone back to him. She had entered in a number with the name "Call 911 Instead". Tyler laughed, and brought his huge hand up to rub the side of his face. She watched his hand- loving how big and manly they were. As she watched him scratch his scruff, she noticed intricate drawings spanning from just above his hand, and continuing all the way [presumably] under his t-shirt. She didn't usually like guys with tattoos- she preferred men that were equally preppy as her. He definitely had a bad boy look to him, and that's the exact type of guy she was trying to avoid at this point in her life. She was only 18 years old, but a very publicly tumultuous relationship with Hollywood heartthrob, Alex Pettyfer, had caused her to swear off bad boys like Tyler for a long time.
