Kids In Love

Cherry Tree

"Hello?" Alisa groggily asked the next morning, as a pounding headache tore through her skull.

"Its me," She heard her best friend say just as sleepily. "Where'd you end up stayin'?"

"Brett's." Alisa yawned pushing an elbow out of her way.

"You slept with him?" Marlaina exclaimed.

"No doofus, a bunch of us passed out all over the place," Alisa explained standing up from the pile of people. "I dont know how i ended up behind this couch though."

"Did RJ get you home safely?" Alisa asked yawning once again, stumbling on her feet as she headed towards the door.

"Um, yeah ofcourse he did." Marlaina nervously laughed looking down at the sleeping blonde beside her. Although nothing seroius happened between her and TJ, she felt an extreme guilt in the pit of her stomach.

"Gosh, that kid is hysterical, he'd do anything for me!" Alisa laughed.

"Well dont lead him on like that..." Marlaina said stroking the whisps of hair infront of TJ's closed eyes.

"I'm not leading anyone on," Alisa reasoned walking through campus to her dorm, "I'm having fun in college, and I'm not getting involved with any guys. Simple as."

"Right..." Marlaina listened half-heartedly as TJ stirred in his sleep his eyelids fluttering open to reveal his dazzling blue orbs. He broke into a huge grin upon seeing her face but frowned when she put her finger to his lips. "So where are you?"

"On my way up, i need to get changed and head over to the library. I have a dumb Economics paper due tomorrow."

"Shit!" Marlaina whispered shoving TJ off her bed.

"What happened?" Alisa asked.

"Uh, stubbed my toe, talk to you in a bit." Marlaina exclaimed before shutting her phone. "She's on her way! You need to leave." She ordered to a dazed TJ who hauled himself off of the floor.

"Alright," He yawned shrugging.

"Now." Marlaina insisted a little a more sternly.

"So what does this mean, like about us," TJ asked as his hand touched the door knob, "Like are we...?" He trailed off as Marlaina opened the door and gently shoved him out.

"TJ you have to go, Alisa is on her way here, meet me at the huge cherry blossom tree tonight okay? You know the one down by the old wing?" TJ nodded and stepped out of the room. "Okay, we'll talk later then," Marlaina insisted leaning up to peck TJ's cheek making him smile.

"Later, then." He confirmed dissapearing into the hall and out of the dorms.

"Most intense game of pong in my life," Alisa explained as she towel dried her hair after her shower. "Still undefeated." She boasted. "But it wasnt as fun without you there, dont get so smashed next time."

"I'll try to remember not to," Marlaina sighed flipping trough her English homework.

"You okay?" Alisa asked slipping into a fresh outfit, "You seem weird."

"Im fine," Marlaina shrugged, "You have any classes today?"

"Nope," Alisa smiled pulling her books into her bag, "But I have like four tomorrow. See 'ya." She added beore disapearing out the door and to the library.

Turning another page in her book Alisa realized that it had nothing to do with the topic she was writing on.

"Economics needs to die." She whispered to herself. Booting up her computer she decided to search for a book pertaining to her topic on Aggregate Demand. Once she found the book online she hit the shelves searching for the title among the millions there.

"The duo decimal system needs to die," She groaned scanning the numbers on the side of the books. She felt a shuffle behind her and turned around to see no one there. Turning back to the book she continued searching untill she felt someone watching her.

"Phil Mordsy," She said aloud as thougha brilliant thought had just come to her. She turned to see a guy peeking at her through the crevice in the shelf of the books. "That was the last guy who stalked me." She added with a smile upon seeing the young man's face flush and tips of his ear grow bright red.

He came around the shelves to face her with a sheepish smile, "I wasnt stalking you..." He shook his head with a smile.

"Sure you weren't, you just like to look at girls creepily in the library," She laughed making him blush once again. "Whats your name? Jim?"

"Jon." He corrected.

"Right, Im bad with names." She apoligized. "Whats with the creepin'?"

"I found the book you needed." He said handing her a large ancient novel in his large hand.

"How'd you know that was the book i was looking for?" She asked cocking her hip to the side, "Stalker."

"I wasn't stalking," He said again, "I just heard you mumbling the name, and i was right by it over there," He explained jerking his tumb over his shoulder into the direction he had just come from.

"OKay," Alisa smiled taking the book from his hands, "Thanks, Jon."

"You're welcome." He smiled watching her as she walked back to her table. She began flipping through the book, finding tidbits of information on her topic jotting them down on her laptop. She looked up to the table infront of her and noticed Jon starring at her again. She smiled at his blush mouthing the word, Stalker, to him. He shook his head laughing and came over to sit in front of her.

"Do you take Spanish?" He asked.

"I used to, im in French now though."

"Can you help me?" He asked with a smile.

"Sure," She smiled taking the Spanish book from his hands. "Are you trying to conjugate estar?"

"Yeah, whats the first person tense?"

"Estoy." Alisa explained making Jon nodd in realization.

"Right, I totally knew that." He laughed.

"Im sure you did." She giggled making him blush again.

"So, uh..." Jon scratched the back of his neck looking down at his book, "You busy tonight?" He blurted out.

"Um besides studying for French and writing a lame paper? No not really." She smiled, "Why?"

"You wanna do something, or something?" He asked awkwardly.

"Um..." Alisa paused for a moment thinking about the fact that this was the guy her friend may be interested in, but she also couldnt find a way to tell him no. She just didnt know how on earth she was going to explain this to Marlaina.

"Sure."
