We Were Drunk But It's Not A Mistake

Chapter 1

Chapter 1
Let me be the first to tell you. When a friend of yours invites you to a party say no. Why? Because you could be in my situation right now. What situation am I in? Well I’ll explain.
Hi my name is Cali Murphy well now Cali Seguin and here is my story.
I woke up in s strange room next to someone I didn’t know. I sat up and saw that I was naked and the stranger next to me was too. I looked around the room and nothing unusual popped out just our clothes from the night before.
I slowly got out of the bed trying not to disturb the man next to me. I crept into the bathroom. I stared into the mirror and examined my body. I looked fine until I saw a ring on my left ring finger. I immediately grabbed a towel tightly wrapped it around my body and walked back into the bedroom.
“Get up!” I exclaimed shaking him.
“5 more minutes.” He grumbled.
“No you need to get up now!” I demanded.
“Fine I’m up and who the hell are you?” he asked.
“Evidently by this ring I am your wife.” I answered pointing to my finger.
“No, this is not happening!” he exclaimed jumping out of bed.
“Well it looks like it did. Now if we are married help me find a marriage certificate and put some clothes on.” I instructed them.
We ran around his apartment like to chickens with their heads cut off. I ran one way and he ran another. I was about to give up when I saw my suitcase by the door. I walked over to it and opened it. Sure enough was a piece of paper that said ‘Boston Marriage Certificate.’
Groom: Tyler Seguin
Bride: Cali Murphy
“Tyler!” I exclaimed.
“How do you know my name?” he asked.
“Because of this.” I answered handing him the paper.
“Shit.” He moaned.
“Look we have to figure this out.” I told him.
“Okay we get a divorce easy.” He responded.
“No.” I told him.
“What?” he asked.
“Marriage is a sacred sacrament and even though I have no idea who you are other than a hockey player. We are married and have to make it work.” I answered.
“Can we at least talk about this?” he asked me.
“Yeah but can I quickly get changed.” I answered.
“Yeah the guest bathroom is right down the hall and to the left.” He instructed me.
“Thanks.” I replied grabbing my suitcase and heading in that direction.
I walked into the bathroom and got changed pretty quickly. I threw on a pair of black leggings, a blue sweater, and my splatter navy blue TOMS. I walked out of the bathroom to see Tyler standing there fully clothed.
“Want to grab some lunch. We can talk there.” He suggested.
“Sure.” I replied grabbing my phone and bag.
I followed Tyler down the stairs and to the parking garage. We stopped at his car and he opened the door for me. I got in and he joined me seconds later. We pulled out of the complex and drove until we appeared in front of a small diner.
Tyler got out and opened my door for me. I got out and followed him into the diner. We took a seat and waited to order.
“So is it always like this?” I asked him looking at a group of teenage girls drooling over him.
“Yeah but you get used to it I guess.” He answered.
Our food came and the conversation never ended.
“So you don’t want to get a divorce?” he asked me.
“I know this will sound stupid but my parents are divorced. It was hard going from house to house so when I was 15 I promised myself I would never get a divorce.” I answered.
“That’s not stupid. My parents just got divorced. My mom also just got engaged.” He replied.
“Congratulations to her or I’m sorry.” I responded confused.
“I’m happy for her but it’s weird to think that she’s with another guy other than my dad. You know.” He told me.
“Yeah I know the feeling. When I was 16 my dad got remarried. It was hard but he’s happy that’s all that matters.” I replied.
“So I’m willing to help you keep your promise.” He said.
“Really?” I asked in disbelief.
“Really. There is something about you.” He answered blushing.
“Thank you.” I told him.
“Let’s get going.” He said getting up.
“So how’s t been not playing?” I asked Tyler as we sat on the couch.
When we got home it started raining. Tyler let me change into one of his hoodies. He changed into sweats. We planned in watching TV, but we had been cuddled up under a blanket talking for hours.
“It sucks but I’m glad I played for Biel. I just hope it ends soon you know.” He answered.
“You’ll play again. I have a feeling it will be really soon.” I told him.
“I hope no I bet you are right.” Tyler replied with a smile.
“Now if we are married we aren’t going to right out say it.” I told him.
“Okay.” He responded.
“We’ll just say we are boyfriend girlfriend and the ring is a promise ring.” I explained.
“I’m cool with it.” Tyler replied.
“Good.” I smiled.
“You have a beautiful smile.” He complimented me.
“Thanks.” I blushed.
“I’m glad I married you drunk.” He teased.
“Me too.” I giggled.
“Good.” He replied leaning in close.
I leaned in too and wrapped my arms around my neck and out lips connected.
“You are really good at that.” Tyler stated as we both needed air.
“You’re not so bad yourself.” I responded.
“You also look really good in my sweatshirt.” He said.
“I’m your wife I’m suppose too.” I replied with a smile.
“I guess you are right.” He smiled pecking my lips softly.
“So where do you go to school?” he asked me.
“BU.” I answered.
“That’s like 10 minutes away from here.” He stated.
“I know.”I responded.
“What do you study?”Tyler asked me.
“I’m studying business. My mom owns a bridal boutique in the South End.” I answered.
“An Irish girl.” He stated.
“Yeah.” I blushed.
“Your cute when you blush.” He complimented me.
“Thanks.” I responded.
“Look this isn’t going to be easy but like you I want to make this work. I understand I am not the easiest person to live with my career but know I’m only a phone call away.” He explained.
“Tyler I understand your job comes first. Just know I’ll be here when you get home.” I smiled.
“I think you are the first girl other than my mom and sisters to say that.” He admitted.
“I’m honored.” I joked.
“So do you work next week?” he asked me.
“Yeah from 5-10.” I answered.
“I was going to ask you to come to the game.” He told me bowing his head.
“I’m sorry Tyler I’ll try my best to get out of it.” I replied kissing his cheek.
“Thanks babe.” He kissed me.
