*Amy’s P.O.V.*
It had been about 2 weeks since Rose left Chicago. Pat had been drinking pretty heavily and partying almost every night, he was a total wreck without her. I had been alright without her just extremely bored with no real other girlfriends except Charlotte, who was dating Andrew now.
I rolled out of Jon’s bed around 8am and went out to the kitchen. It was always so quite when Jon wasn’t home. I grabbed a yogurt from the fridge and reviewed the game schedule for the Blackhawks that week. I smiled when I saw we’d be playing the Penguins in 5 days. I called Rose immediately to tell her I’d be coming out to Pittsburgh tonight. “Hello?” Rose answered. “Hey! Just calling you to remind you that I’m flying in tonight.” I said cleaning up after myself. “Yay! I can’t wait to have a girl’s night with you again!” she said excitedly. I laughed and told her I had to go when I heard a knock at the door.
I slid my phone in my pocket as I opened the door. I saw Charlotte standing there. “What’s up Char?” I said leaning against the door. “I need to talk to you about something…” she replied in a low voice. I let her in and she sat on the couch with her head down. I closed the door and headed over to her, “So what’s wrong?” “Do you think Andrew and I will ever have what you and Jon have?” Charlotte said looking straight at me. I stumbled over my words shocked that she asked that, “Of course you will. You guys love each other.” Charlotte let a small smile spread across her face. “Hey, you wanna watch some old game video?” I asked her. She nodded, “Yeah the one from practice where you and I were calling people bags of milk!” I laughed as I got up and put in the DVD of that practice.
As we watched I started making sure I had everything I needed packed up. Once I knew I had everything I sat down on the couch next to Charlotte and watched the rest of the practice video. As we watched Jon walked through the door with his gear bag. “Hey babe.” I said getting up and gave him a kiss. “Hey.” he said to me smiling. “Hey Charlotte” Jon said as he sat down his bag. I headed back over to the couch and sat closer to Charlotte so Jon could sit down. “So what are you girls up to?” he asked sitting. “Oh just an old practice video.” Charlotte said as she closely watched the video. As we all watched I noticed that in the video it had the hit I made on Kim that knocked her down, which always made me laugh because her response to the hit was “nice hit you short little shit head”.
Once the video ended Charlotte had to leave to get to work. When she left Jon and I cuddled on the couch since we both didn’t really have to do anything for awhile. “I’m guna be so lonely without you here.” Jon said all of the sudden. I looked him straight in the eyes, “It’s only a few days and plus you can always have Pat over.” Jon and Pat had gotten on good terms again since the fight about what he did to Rose. Jon sighed and I put my hand on his face and kissed him. “It’s only 5 days. Plus on the last day you have the game against the Pens and I’ll be there.” I said trying to comfort him. I looked over at the clock and realized I had to be at the airport in less than an hour to get through security and all that stuff in time. “Ugh babe I gotta be at the airport in less than an hour.” I said sighing. Jon kissed me and said, “Well make sure you have everything ready and we’ll head to the airport.”
I got everything I had for the trip over to Pittsburgh ready in 15 minutes. “Alright lets go.” Jon said as we headed out to his car. When he started the engine Country Girl by Luke Bryan started playing and I couldn’t help but tap my foot to the beat of the song. I was super excited to be able to hang out with Rose again. Once we arrived at the airport Jon parked and helped me get my stuff out and to the check in. I hugged and kissed Jon before heading through security. When I got through I headed to my gate and got there in time to start boarding the plane.
*Rose’s P.O.V*
I got to the airport when Amy’s plane landed. I couldn’t wait to tell her about Sid and I. I waited by baggage claim for her. Once I saw her I yelled, “Amy!” Her head shot up when she heard her name and she ran over to me and we hugged. “So what’s the deal with you and Sid?” she asked as we waited for her bag to come through. “We are officially dating.” I said and a small smile came across my face. Amy laughed at me for smiling. When she got her bag, that was actually her CCM equipment bag not a suit case, we headed out to Sid’s car which he let me barrow to pick up Amy.
As we got in the car I turned to Amy. “So where are you staying?” “At the hotel by Consol Energy Center where the Hawks will be staying too.” Amy said. “Of course.” I said laughing a little. Amy glared at me then looked out the window. “Gosh I haven’t been here in such a long time.” she said as she studied the buildings. Once we got back to Sid’s we both got out laughing about something stupid Shaw had done at practice that week. As we walked in I saw Sid and Geno on the couch watching something on the TV and laughing.
*Amy’s P.O.V*
When I saw Evgeni on the couch with Sid my heart felt like it skipped a beat. I turned to Rose, “Hey where’s your bathroom?” She pointed to it and I walked past the guys and went into the bathroom closing the door behind me. I splashed some cold water on my face and tried to calm myself down. The last time I had been face to face with Evgeni was while I was in Russia playing hockey for their team and he had kissed me, after that happened I didn’t know what to do and I left. I heard a knock on the door and I froze. “I’m busy.” I said. “It’s just Rose. Let me in.” Rose said from the other side of the door. I opened it and let her in. “What’s wrong?” she asked me puzzled, she didn’t know about my past while I was in Russia. I sighed and told her everything. “Please don’t tell anyone. Not even Jon knows about that.” I said with a pleading look. “Does he even know you played in Russia?” she asked me. I shook my head. “Alright. I won’t tell about the Evgeni thing but you need to tell him that you used to play in Russia.” Rose said putting a hand on my shoulder then leaving me in the bathroom alone.
After awhile I finally left the bathroom, but Sid and Rose were in the kitchen talking. I sat on the couch next to Evgeni nervously. “Hey.” he said calmly but I could tell there was tension between us. “Are you still mad about what happened in Russia?” I asked speaking Russian so Sid and Rose wouldn’t understand. “A little. I still love you Amy, but you’re engaged to Jonathan Toews. So there’s nothing I can do.” he told me straight up also in Russian. “Can we be friends?” I said still in Russian. Evgeni smiled and nodded his head. At that moment Sid and Rose came back in the living room. “So what are you bags of milk up to?” Sid asked sitting next to me so I was between him and Evgeni. Rose laughed as mouthed “help me”. “Nothing just talking.” Evgeni said as he smiled at me. I couldn’t help but think that no one knew that I had lived in Russia for 4 years playing hockey before I moved to Chicago or the fact that I used to have a thing with Evgeni Malkin or the fact that I had dual citizenship with Russia and the USA. I also couldn’t help but think when I should bring this up to Jon. Things were getting complicated again.
