Colder than ice
Going home
When practice got over I still felt weird around Evgeni and I knew it was time to head back to Chicago after they had their game tonight against the Pens. When Rose and I made it back to Sid’s I knew she had more questions about Geno and I.
“Okay just ask the questions. I know you want to just spit it out.”
“Did you guys ever… you know do the dance with no pants?”
“Yes, but I don’t see why this should be a topic I’m getting married to Jon.”
“Do you still have feelings for Evgeni?”
“I’m….I…. I’m not sure. But I know I’m in love with Jon.”
We sat in silence for awhile and I convinced myself that I’d leave with the team back to Chicago.
“I’m going to leave with the team tonight.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. I’m 6 weeks pregnant with Jon’s baby and I got to get some school work done. I have to go back.”
Rose looked at me with concern, but I tried my best to ignore her. I felt my phone buzz which made me look down.
Guess where I am right now. -Jon
I don’t know the rink?
Nope. Open Sid’s door.-Jon
I showed Rose the messages and went to open the front door. When I got it fully open I saw Jon standing there with his doofy grin.
“BABE!”
I yelled as I hugged him tightly not wanting to let go. I loved how his hugs felt especially when I was going through things, like the whole Geno situation.
“You guna watch the game tonight?”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
I said this and kissed him softly. From behind Rose cleared her throat.
“Hey Rose.”
“Hey Jon.”
I dragged Jon inside so he could help me get some of my stuff in my car.
“You’re going to leave now Amy?”
“Nah I’m just putting stuff in my car so I don’t have to later.”
Rose helped Jon get some of my stuff into the car.
“So how are you and Sid?”
“We’re good thanks for asking Jon.”
He just gave a half hearted smile.
“You know I’m still giving Kaner shit for what he did to you.”
Rose smiled at that. Jon tended to act like an older brother to her since the Olympics which really changed him.
*Later that day*
During the game I couldn’t sit still. Everytime Geno chirped at Jon I couldn’t help but feel like he was telling Jon of Russia. I was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I tried my best to focus on the game but next thing I knew there was only a minute left in the third with 1-0 for the Blackhawks. I watched Jon’s every movement carefully making sure he didn’t do anything to piss off Geno. Once the buzzer sounded I let a sigh of relief and made my way down to the away team dressing room.
While I waited I leaned against the wall next to the door and saw some of the guys who all gave me “Hey Amy” or “You coming back tonight?”. It seemed like it took forever for Jon to get out. When he finally did I hugged him and congratulated him on the win.
“Good job babe.”
“Well I had my good luck charm in the crowd.”
He put his hand on my waist and pulled me to him and kissed me passionately. I smiled as I looked into his soft deep brown eyes.
“Babe when we get back to Chicago we need to talk.”
“Why not now?”
“I don’t want to talk about it in front of the guys. Its not easy to discuss.”
“Okay babe, but on the way home you’re going to be next to me the whole trip cause I missed you so damn bad.”
I smiled and kissed him again taking in the happy moment we were having, because I knew when we got home things may be a little upseted.
