This is the first summer Patrick has had his kids for the summer since the divorce. His season was done and he was free un till the last two weeks of August to spend time with his kids. He planned on doing everything they wanted to make up for him being gone so much throughout the year.


Last day of school

"kids get up its time to get up. It's your last day" patrick yelled up to his kids. He needed to be there on time today because he was meeting with his ex wife at the kids school. At first patrick didn't think it was a good idea doe Lacey to go but she kept insisting. Finally he gave in cause he would want to see them on there last day if school if roles were reversed. Mason was finishing grade 3, Sailor grade 2 and Landon only had two more years before he went to school. He was moving up from daycare into preschool starting in September. Sailor and Maelee are in the grade and best friends there practically inseperable. All of the Blackhawks kids are super close. A lot if them are around the same age.

"I'm down dad. What's for breakfast" Patricks 9year old son asked him sleepily while walking down the stairs into the kitchen.

" I don't want to go to school Daddy don't make me go" his 8year old daughter whined to him as she took her seat at the kitchen table.

" I know u don't Sailor but u have to it's against the law to not go to school and besides today is the last day it's always fun and u don't do any real work it's like a free day, and were meeting your mother at the school 15 minutes before school starts."

"yah mommy's gonna be there" sailor yelled

" why is mother going to be there?" Mason said hatefully

"because your mother wants to see u on your last day of school"

"I don't want to see her dad"

"I know u don't bud but she is your mom try to be nice to her ok?"

"Ok I will try"

"ok thank you, U guys have to go get dressed we can't be late to meet your mom"

the he kids got up from the table and ran upstairs to get dressed and brush their teeth. Patrick went up and got Landon and fed and got him dressed. They were dropping him off a daycare before heading to the school to meet up with Lacey .i really hope Lacey is doing good with her self rehab thing she's doing patrick thought. I want the kids to be able to go her sometimes.


The car pulls up at The Chicago State Private School.

"hi babies" Lacey yells as the kids get out of the car. Sailor runs towards her mother but Mason slowly walks over not really wanting to go hug his mother.

"Hello Lacey how are u doing" I ask her

"I'm good how are u doing? Are u managing with the kids all right?"

"yes I am Lacey do u think I wouldn't be able to handle it?"

"no it's just that during the school year your always gone and it must be hard adjusting to be there for them all time I mean your used to being a parent when it convenient for your schedule." Lacey snaps.

"umm excuse me I was always there for them when I was gone I called them all the time came home when I could. You on the other hand became drug addict and was charged while u were supposedly being the better parent" I yelled at her.

" I was and still am the better parent"
"says the pot head"

"I have to go. I'm gonna come over tonight so I can look at report cards ok?"

"Sure"

today is gonna be a long day..
