Chapter Seven - Dress Shopping, Double Dates, Oh My!

*Chelsea's POV*
A few days later...
Returning home after running some quick, last minute errands, I tuck one of the bags into my purse before putting the other things away. The bag that I stashed away was a very important one, and no one in the apartment needed to know what was in it. I don't even know if I actually am pregnant or not, so these tests were going to be kept a secret for a while. Once I find out, absolutely no one, and I mean no one will know besides the father of this baby. To be completely honest, I'm completely terrified to tell Tyler about this. I'm almost one hundred percent sure it's his, if only my memory wasn't so hazy I would probably actually know. I don't sleep around, that's for sure, but it's just this one night I can't remember anything that happened. I remember being with some of the guys and girls, we were at a club celebrating the Stanley Cup win and that's it.
With something like this though, I just wanted to keep it as quiet as possible. Tyler get's enough attention from the media for being a 'playboy'. Which, he is not. Well, I don't think he is, but then again I don't pay attention to what goes on in the tabloids and I don't want to know what he's been doing with what girl on what night. The less I know, the better. That goes for any guy in my life, especially my brother. I feel like if I told Tyler about this, he would also want to keep it as quiet as possible, too. I feel like I should also tell Brandon, just because by some blatant miracle and slim chance maybe it's his. I'd have to talk to Brittany first though, maybe not reveal my pregnancy theory, but maybe to find out what happened that night. She was there too, but she didn't drink anything, unlike the rest of us.
If I do happen to be pregnant, I feel like I'd be a little over a month and and a half or maybe a month. Considering it's only the end of August, and I've only missed one period so far, I wouldn't be too far along. That could be a reason why I didn't notice, and I'm still pretty skinny. I honestly hope it's just a skipped period and nothing else. I don't think I can handle being a mother so soon. I love kids, I want kids, but someday in the future, not this soon in the future. Slipping away after I put everything away, I lock myself in my room so I can take the tests in privacy and have a little alone time if the results come out positive.

"Hey Chelsea! Don't forget we have to go meet Stacey for our first dress fittings today!" Brittany calls out, loud enough her voice barely sounds muffled through the door separating us. "I'm coming! Just give me a minute!" I shout back, double checking that I've put everything back in it's rightful place and three certain items were nowhere the eye could see. Flicking the light-switch to turn the lights off, I open the door and Brittany almost falls backwards into me. "Genius idea to lean up against my door, Britt." I murmur sarcastically. She doesn't say anything, but her cheeks turn pink. "Should we get Erica and Jackie or are they not going with us?" I ask as we exit the apartment. "No, Melanie took them out for the day, Sophia said to meet her and Stacey downstairs, they're waiting in Stacey's car." Brittany mentions, locking the door behind us. Once we get to Stacey's car, I put a smile on my face. I didn't want anyone to ask any questions, about anything really. Sliding into the back seat, I greet Sophia and Stacey as Brittany gets in on the other side.

After the dress fittings, we all head over to one of the local coffee shops. It's a cute little place located right by Navy Pier, we always managed to find our way over here when we got together. I ordered my typical caramel macchiato, except this time I decided to get it iced instead. After paying and receiving our coffees, we head over to our favorite seats, those of which are fortunately not taken, and sit down to enjoy our drinks.
"So, Stacey, what are your plans for after the wedding? Any honeymoon destinations or ideas?" I question, taking a small sip of my iced coffee.
"Honestly, we don't have time to go on a real honeymoon. There are games two days before and after the wedding." Stacey explains, sighing before continuing, "We might go somewhere over the summer though."
"Where do you think you'll wanna go?" Sophia asks, stirring her coffee slowly.
"Maybe Bora Bora. I've always wanted to go there." Stacey replied, her eyes bright with excitement. "What do you have planned for your wedding so far, Soph?"
"Since Jonathan and I's is going to be this summer, which means you can't leave until after our wedding, I was thinking of just going up to Winnipeg to spend some quality time around family for a week or two." Sophia states, giving Stacey a subtle glare when she mentions her wedding being in the summer.
Stacey laughs, almost spilling her tea all over herself. "Don't look at me like that!" She exclaims, regaining her composure. "I wouldn't dare leave before your wedding. To even think of doing such a thing is blasphemy!"
Her words get everyone laughing then. She always knew how to make people laugh in any type of situation. During Sophia and Stacey's conversation about weddings, I couldn't help but look over at Brittany and make silly faces. Getting married just seemed so far in the future for me, couldn't say anything for Brittany though. Her and Andrew have been together for a few years now, I could see them getting married soon. Maybe.
After about another half an hour of just sitting around talking, Brittany looks down at her phone then at me. "We're gonna have to get back to the apartment soon. Double date in two hours, remember?" She pointed out, holding her phone out in front of me. "I do take a while to get ready..." I say, speaking my thoughts out loud.

Once we're back at our apartment, Brittany and I go back to our rooms to sort through our closets before doing our hair and makeup for later. I already had an idea of what I wanted to wear, so I was done rather quickly. I never really did anything fancy with my hair either, it usually just stayed down in it's natural long blonde waves. Brittany was the one who always got extravagant, but it always paid off.
Moseying over to her room, I hear her mumbling random words to herself as she tosses shirt after shirt onto her bed. "Hey Britt." I murmur, sitting down on a part of her bed that isn't covered with clothes. "Hey Chels, what's up?" She asks, her eyes staring down intently at the three shirts in front of her. "I'd go with the white and black one." I comment, pointing towards my favorite of the three. "I just wanted to talk to you about something."
"Good choice. What do you want to talk about?"
"Well...it has to do with Tyler."
"You know I don't approve of that boy. But, what about him?"
"Um, we may have gotten together a few months ago when all of us were in Boston for the finals."
The moment those words escaped my lips, I feared for my life. Brittany couldn't stand Tyler. I could understand why, he was quite the partier, and I'll admit a bit of a douche too. She just never took the time to get to know him like I did though. Deep down inside he's a good guy, the media just doesn't know that either.
"You did what?!" Brittany exclaims, crossing her arms and giving me a stern look.
"It just happened! I think I'm paying for it now, though."
"Chelsea, please tell me you are not pregnant."
"I'm not sure... the tests said positive."
After a few minutes of silence, I look over at Brittany noticing the expression of sheer, utter disappointment on her face. Picking up the clothes, she tosses them to the side and comes to sit down next to me. She wraps an arm around my shoulders as I lean my head on her shoulder.
"You'll be okay Chels. But you have to tell Brandon about this. You don't have to come right out and say it, or whose it is. You just have to let him know. I promise you, no matter what it'll be fine."
"You always know the right thing to say. I promise I'll tell Brandon. Not tonight though, maybe in a few days."
"Okay, I'm holding you to that promise."

Before we know it, the boys have arrived and thankfully we've been ready for the past few minutes. Brittany opens the door, letting them in. A smile lights up my expression when Brandon walks in, my favorite flowers wrapped together in a bouquet resting in his strong, capable hands. Getting up off of the sofa, I cross the room to greet him.
When I reach where he's standing, he holds the flowers out for me sporting a very happy grin. Thanking him as I take them, I set them down on the nearest table. When my hands are free, I turn to give Brandon one of the biggest, tightest hugs he's probably ever received from anyone. "Thank you Brandon." I whisper in his ear as he embraces me back. "No problem beautiful." He replied, squeezing a little tighter himself before we both let go of each other. We both make our way towards the little foyer, where Andrew and Brittany were waiting for us.
"Ready you two?" Andrew asks, sounding just a bit impatient. It's not like we had a time limit, or a reservation for that matter. I don't know why he would be impatient in this moment, but it is Andrew. He always had something planned when it involved Brittany. Maybe it was a bit more important since her brother was going to be with them today. "Yepp." I respond, putting epmhasis on the 'p' in the word.
Locking the door behind me, Brandon reaches out for my hand, which I graciously accept as we join Brittany and Andrew in the elevator. I hadn't known that we were driving in two seperate cars until we got outside and both Andrew and Brandon's cars were waiting for us. Brandon led me towards his while Andrew took Britt towards his. Being the true gentlemen they are, both opened the doors for us as we got into their cars. I couldn't help but chuckle at the glances the two boys gave each other as they got into the cars.
Since the roads are four laned at the moment, the boys just had to feel the need to be competitive. Not going to lie, I was a little on edge since Chicago traffic could be a little intense at times. They both seemed to be fearless, and at least it took my mind off of other things. Once the lanes merged together, and Brandon was in front of Andrew, my heart calmed down a bit. When my breathing returned to normal, I heard Brandon breathe out a silent laugh. Looking over at him, I scowl and shake my head. "Boys and cars. Always have to be competitive." I mumble, making him laugh even more. "I know what I'm doing." He states, sounding ever so sure of himself. "Yeah. But you don't know about the other person." I scold, sounding just like my mother.
When we finally arrive at the reastaurant, I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that we're going to be enjoying a lovely dinner from my favorite place. Ed Debevic's. Not only is it a retro themed restaurant, the waiters are incredibly sassy. I loved it! I wondered how Brittany would handle it, she's not the best with confrontation or insulting strangers. Well, insulting anyone was hard for her to do. When we enter the wonderful establishment, it's packed. Typical though, they did have really good food, and wonderful service. If you catch my sarcasm.
Once we're seated and handed our menus by our ever lovely waitress, Kelly, the hilarious insults start. "What do you want to drink?" She asks calmly, taking me off guard. I didn't realize I made a face, until she calls me out on it. "What? Something wrong Blondie?" Kelly asks, her voice laced with sarcasm now. "No, nothing's wrong. I'll have a Sprite though." I say, feeling my cheeks turn red. I couldn't help it. Anytime I got teased in any way, my cheeks would flush up and turn red. Everyone else orders their drinks and Kelly leaves.
A few of the people around us give Brandon and Andrew a few odd looks, as if they've seen them from somewhere. One of the guys from a few tables over actually does get up to come over and ask if the boys are actually Brandon Saad and Andrew Shaw. When they say they are, the guys eyes widen a bit and he asks if he can get their autographs and a picture. I gladly take the picture for the guy, Aaron. He actually recognized me as well. I guess that's what I get for being the sister to the infamous Patrick Kane.
After we're done eating, Kelly brings us our bill, which Andrew graciously offers to pay for even though that causes a debate between him and Brandon. Once the two finally sort things out, Andrew still ends up paying and we all leave happily. Well not all of us. Brandon seems a bit annoyed that he lost that battle, but he'd have other opportunities to pay him back.

I was definitely glad I wore a comfortable pair of shoes on this date, considering we ended up strolling around Chicago for over an hour. We ended up making our way to Millenium Park, where Brandon and I ended our first date with each other. Pulling him off to the side, I rest my head on his shoulder as we continued to walk around. "You know we came here for our first date. Which wasn't that long ago, actually." Brandon comments as we walk up the steps towards the famous reflective Bean. "I know, it was a great first date." I reply, a warm smile forming on my lips. It honestly was one of the best dates I'd ever been on.

* Brittany's POV *
This could, quite possibly have been one of the best dates Andrew's taken me on. Besides the fact I was probably as red as a beet the entire night, Ed's was fun. Even though I can't really handle insulting anyone, I just tried to laugh everything off. At least I had Andrew next to me during that fiasco.
Now, we were just walking slowly and calmly through Millenium Park. It was a quiet, cool night, and that I was thankful for. Not many people seemed to notice us, which was also great. Not that I minded when fans would come up and ask for autographs and photos, we were on a pretty great date tonight. I didn't want anything to go wrong. Nothing.
As we're sitting together on one of the benches by the Bean, I notice Chelsea and Brandon on the other side standing by the balcony that looks over the area where they usually put a little skating rink in the winter. I couldn't wait for that, skating outside in the winter while it's snowing is just so awesome. I notice Andrew starting to get a little finicky, and I look up at him. "Something wrong hun?" I ask, giving his hand a little squeeze. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to, need to ask you something." He replies, stuttering a little bit. I look back over towards Brandon and Chelsea and I see them both looking in our direction as well. The next thing Andrew does takes me by complete surprise.
"Brittany Allison Saad, ever since the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were something special. Of course, being my best friend and team mates brother, I didn't want to act on my feelings. I didn't know how he would react, or if he would be okay with it. I'm just glad I took a chance and went for it. If I didn't, man that would have been the stupidest thing I could have ever done." At that point, he's down on one knee and pulling a little black box out of his pocket. "You're the best thing in my life, besides hockey, you rank above that. I never thought I could love anyone or anything more, but that was before I met you. Now, I know I want to be with you and only you for the rest of my life. Brittany, will you marry me?" He ask, opening the box and revealing the most beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen in my entire life.
"Yes, yes I will!" I say, tears spilling out of my eyes. He takes my hand, sliding the ring onto my finger. Once he stands up, I pull him close, embracing him as tight as I can. "I love you so much Britt." He whispers into my ear. "I love you so much too Andrew." I whisper back.
We stand like that for a couple more minutes, until we hear footsteps coming towards us. Wiping my eyes I see that it's Brandon and Chelsea. I immediately reach out for Chelsea, pulling her into a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you Britt!" She squeaks as we pull apart. "Congrat's bro." I hear Brandon tell Andrew. "I never expected this to happen so soon!" I confess, wiping my eyes once again. "I kind of knew..." Chelsea mutters, looking down at her shoes. "Brandon told me that one weekend you and Andrew went away." Immediately, I put on my best pout face as I turn to face my brother. Smacking his arm, I look up at him before hugging him. "Thanks for not spilling the beans bro." I say, releasing my grip on him. "Yeah well, this was a very important secret to keep." He tells me beore looking over at Chelsea. "We'll leave you two alone know. Go celebrate a little!" He encourages as he walks towards Chelsea. "Oh we will." Andrew answers for me as they turn to leave. Brandon laughs before waving goodbye.

* Back in Chelsea's POV *
Once we get back to the apartment, I finally decide I need to tell Brandon what's going on. If I didn't do it know, who knows when I would do it. Leading him towards the sofa, we both sit down. I figure it's better to sit down when recieving news like this, considering no one else is home to help me if he happened to faint or something. I take one long, deep breath in before telling him.
"Brandon, I think I'm pregnant."
