Chapter Twenty Three
“How are you doing?” I heard as there was a knock on my door. I looked up and groaned and then rolled over in bed and wanted to go to sleep, “Kay, I brought you some soup.”

“I’m ok, Danny. I just want to get some sleep, I don’t want you getting sick,” I said and Danny chuckled as he walked into my room, pulled a chair over and sat at the side of my bed, “Danny, it’s just a cold.”

“I know, I just wanted to make sure you’re all right though,” he said and I gave him a small smile.

“You’re sweet,” I said and Danny smirked, stood up, kissed my forehead and then ran his fingers through my hair.

About a month has past and Danny ended up asking me to be his girlfriend, he was cute, funny, sweet, not to mention he was good to me. There were only a few weeks left of school and then it was summer break. Spring break was next week and we were all flying down to the beach to have some fun, even some of the guys were going to come down to see me since they had a four day break. Only Alicia knew that they were coming, I wanted to surprise the others, Ben especially because he was a Penguins fan, I just found that out.

I ate the soup that Danny had brought me, he was sweet like that and I liked him a lot. Danny turned the TV on and then walked over towards the DVD player and turned it on.

“What are you doing?” I asked confused and Danny smiled towards me.

“You’re always talking about that show that you like, and I’ve never had time to sit down and
watch it, so I want to watch it with you,” he said and I gave a cough like giggle.

“Supernatural?” I asked and Danny nodded his head, “I don’t have any of the seasons with me, they’re all home.”

“Do you have an HDMI cable?” he asked and I shook my head, “Hold on, I think Alicia does,” Danny said and I nodded my head and watched as he walked out of the room and was gone for a few minutes. When Danny was gone, I started to eat my soup and by the time he got back, I was half way finished, but really full, “Got the cable.”

“What are you going to do with it?” I asked as Danny walked over towards the TV, plugged it in and then walked over towards his laptop and started to type some things.

“It’s the internet, you can find anything on the internet, especially to watch TV shows for free,” he said and I laughed and watched on the TV as he worked his magic on the laptop, “Do you want to start from the beginning?”

“Duh! You need to know what happens! We’re currently in the middle of season four,” I said and Danny smirked and shook his head.

“All right, all right, hold on, episode one,” he said and then pressed play and closed his laptop a little. Danny walked over towards the bed, jumped on and leaned his back against the wall and smirked towards me.

“I don’t wanna get you sick,” I said as Danny opened his arms for me to cuddle with him, I was so happy that he liked to cuddle.

“I’ll be fine,” he said and I sighed and nodded my head as I moved my pillow onto his lap and laid my head down.

-Danny-
We were four episodes into the first season, an hour episode a piece and I was actually getting into the show, it was pretty cool. I looked down and saw that Mckayla ended up falling asleep, she was snoring slightly, but that was because her nose was stuffed from the cold she was suffering through. I had one hand resting on her side while my other hand was playing with her hair, I guess that was what made her fall asleep. I smiled towards her and kissed the side of her head, I really did like her, she was beautiful, funny, nice, and she made me laugh a lot. I was happy that she agreed to be my girlfriend when I asked last month.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard her cellphone going off, I looked to see that she had a text from someone named ‘Sid’. I knew I shouldn’t look at her messages, I trusted her enough to know that she wouldn’t cheat on me. I sighed and placed the phone down where I found it and looked at Mckayla.

‘…Sid could be a girl, right?...’ I thought as I felt Mckayla stir on my lap. I sighed and looked at her and watched as she started to sit up and look around, she eyes squinted a little and her hair all over the place, “Sleep well?”

She looked towards me, gave a little smile and then dropped her head back down on the pillow. She mumbled something into the pillow and then her phone was going off again, she had another text. Mckayla grabbed her phone and I saw that it was now a person named ‘Gronk’. I knew that I shouldn’t have, but I looked at the text as she opened it. I instantly felt horrible with myself as both texts were asking her how she was feeling, and she replied to both of them feeling a little better, but she was going back to sleep.

“Danny,” Mckayla rolled over onto her back and looked up towards me, I looked down towards her and then moved a piece of hair out of her face. Even sick she was still beautiful, “How many more days until Spring break?”

“A week, we fly out Friday afternoon,” I said and she smiled and nodded her head, “You need to be healthy by that time,” I said as I laid my hand on her cheek and felt that her skin was warm. Mckayla must have noticed that I was cooler than her, she grabbed my arm and practically
cuddled it, “You feeling all right? You’re pretty warm.”

“Yeah, I think I have a little fever,” she said and I sighed and then moved my other hand to her forehead.

“Feels like you do,” I said and Mckayla sighed and sat up because she needed to sneeze, “Bless you.”

“Thanks,” she said and then sighed, “You know, I think I’m going to take a shower.”

“All right, I’ll be here. You want something else to eat?” I asked and she shook her head.
Mckayla got out of bed and then walked over towards her closet, grabbed her towels and then her shower catty and walked out of the bedroom. I sighed and then watched the show while she was gone, avoiding looking at her phone as it laid on the bed.

-Mckayla-
I must have laid in the shower for a while, just breathing in the steam that would help me breath through my nose. I hated being sick, it was the worse feeling ever, well, at least one of the worst feelings. I heard a knock on the bathroom door and then heard it open. I peeked my head out of the shower and saw that it was just Alicia.

“Sorry girl, I know you’re not feeling well, but I need to pee!” she said and I giggled and nodded my head as I closed the curtain and just went back to closing my eyes and laying back in the tub, “Kay.”

“Hmmm?” I asked, not moving from my spot.

“Do you think it’s a good idea that some of your Penguin friends are coming down to see us at the beach?” Alicia asked and I opened my eyes and looked at the ceiling confused.

“What do you mean?” I asked and she sighed.

“Well, Crosby likes you, but you’re with Danny,” she said and I shook my head, still not understanding what she was getting at, “Does Danny know that your friends with them?”

“No, I never told him,” I said and sighed.

“Do they know that you have a boyfriend?” she asked and I sighed.

“No, I never told them,” I said and then instantly realized what she was talking about.

“What if Crosby tries to do something while you’re with Danny?” Alicia asked and I sighed.

“But Sid won’t pull anything because he doesn’t like me like that,” I said and Alicia scoffed.

“Girl please, even I know that he’s got something for you,” she said and I sighed.

“What do I do?”

“Do you love Danny?” she asked and I stared at the ceiling.

“I don’t know,” I said and sighed, “We’ve only been together for a month, I like him a lot, but it’s too soon to say that I love him.”

“I guess that’s a good enough answer,” she said and I smirked and rolled my eyes, “All right, enjoy your shower, don’t use all the hot water!”

“Too late,” I giggled.

“Bitch.”

“Jerk,” I said and we both laughed and I shook my head.

-Sidney-
“Sid, do you think it’s a good idea that you’re going to the beach, I mean, if you two do something, how are you going to keep up the relationship?” Jordan asked as we were in the locker room, finishing with practice.

“Why would I start anything with Kay?” I asked and Jordan laughed, along with some of the other guys.

“Please, we all know that you’re practically in love with her!” Cooke said and I scoffed and shook my head.

“Sid, come on,” Pascal said and I looked at him, sighed and then rubbed my face.

“All right fine, I like her,” I said and the guys laughed and patted my shoulder.

“So who’s all going to the beach?” Orpik asked and I finished packing my bag.

“Geno, Tanger, TK, Talbo, Sid and I,” Jordan said and I nodded my head and looked towards my phone to see that I had a text from Mckayla. She was answering my text that I sent her before asking how she felt because she had a cold.

“I thought Flower was going too?” Cook asked and we looked towards Marc.

“Naw, I’m staying home with Vero, she didn’t feel like going to the beach,” he said and we nodded our heads. I heard someone make a whip noise, I think it was Max, “Shut up!”

“You are whipped,” Max said and I knew it was him that made that noise.

“Nothing wrong with that,” Marc said and I smirked and shook my head, hoping that one day I would have what he had.
