Patrick's POV
"Peyt? Peyton, are you sleeping?" I asked. No answer.
"Peeeeyyyytttoooonnn?" Still no answer. I guess that she had fallen asleep, even though it was only 8:30. Her head was still on my chest, and her arms were wrapped around my bare stomach. I could feel her soft breathing. It felt natural. She was sleeping so peacefully, she looked even more innocent than usual. I was really glad to have her here, in Chicago. I wish that she never had to leave, I never wanted to let her go. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me. My life changed for the better when she became my best friend. And I had so much that I wanted to say to her, but I couldn't, or it could ruin everything. However, she was sleeping right now. So she wouldn't know. With that thought, I leaned over, kissed her on her soft lips, and whispered what I had always wanted to say to her.
Peyton's POV
“Peyt. Peyt! PEYTON!” Patrick shook me to try and wake me up. I was in his bed, I guess we had both fallen asleep last night.
“The hell do you want? It’s early.” I mumbled sleepily.
“Guess who’s coming to visit?!?”
“Sidney Crosby?” I asked hopefully. Patrick rolled his eyes. He knew very well how much I adored the extremely attractive penguin.
“No, silly! Erica is coming! He exclaimed. My eyes shot wide open. She was my best girl friend and Patrick’s sister, and I haven’t talked to her in years because of what happened to Patrick and I. Her and I were like two peas in a pod.
“Shut up! Really!? When?!”
“Today. She found out that you are here and decided she also needs to spend the summer here. Her plane lands at 2.” Patrick said, checking his watch.
“The whole summer with us Patty!? I am so excited to see her.” I exclaimed. Patrick laughed at my excitement.
“Yep! Now I’ll get us some breakfast and then we can get ourselves cleaned up,” he added. I definitely needed a shower, I looked like a hot mess right now.
“What’s for breakfast? More Ramen?” I teased.
“Oh shit… I don’t have any breakfast foods at all. I guess I could run to the store and pick up a few things. In the mean time you can take a shower.”
“Okay, but what are you trying to say? Do I look that bad?” I asked, pretending to be hurt.
“Nah you look fine! But I’ll go pick up some stuff and I will be back soon!” He said, while quickly throwing on a shirt. I smiled and climbed out of his extremely comfortable bed. I went into my own room quickly stripped off my clothes. Once I heard Patrick leave, I ran into the bathroom and then got into the shower. After a while I got out, and I realized that I had no towel. The asshole forgot to put a towel in the bathroom. I was dripping wet. Shit. And my clothes were in my room. So I had nothing to cover up with. I was pretty sure that Patrick would be back by now. So I tried to call his name.
“Patrick! PATRICK!” No luck.
“PATRICK COULD I HAVE A TOWEL?” Still no answer. I sighed. I was going to have to make a run for it. I wrung my hair out as well as possible, but I was still dripping wet. I slowly opened the bathroom door and checked down the hall. No sign of him. I crept across the to my room quickly only to find him in my room, with his headphones in, setting my breakfast on my dresser. His back was turned to me and I panicked. I tried to quickly grab my clothes that were on the floor, but just to my luck, he turned around before I could grab them. He looked at me, his jaw dropped, and then just stared at me. He pulled his headphones out of his ears.
“Jesus Peyt! What the hell are you doing?” He asked, clearly surprised.
“Close your eyes! I’m sorry, there was no towel in the bathroom and I left my clothes in here!” I defended, quickly trying to put my clothes on. It was hard, considering I was still wet.
“Oh god. I’m sorry! I completely forgot to give you a towel.” He said, completely stating the obvious.
“It’s okay. Sorry you had to see all this.” I laughed nervously.
“Well it is a little early, but you sure as hell don’t look bad.” He complemented. I knew he was serious, I could tell by his voice.
“Thanks. I think?”
“Oh come on, you’re hot and you know it.”
“Ahhh hellll no. I’m like a sack of potatoes.”
“Oh whatever! You’ve always been gorgeous. Boys love you.” He admitted.
“Well thank you, but not really.” I was actually really surprised he thought that. I was not attractive. Sure boys would talk to me, but they were never actually attracted to me. They would talk to me was because of Erica.
“Yeah. Can I open my eyes again?”He asked impatiently.
“Yep. I’m decent.” I said. He opened his eyes and shook his head jokingly.
“What a way to start out this visit, huh Peyt?”
“I guess!” I laughed thinking about it how I hadn’t even been here for 24 hours yet and all this shit has happened.
“Well, I will go get a towel and put it in the bathroom for you.”
“Thank Patty.” I said with a smile. I was still confused by what Patrick said. In high school, I only had one boyfriend, and it didn’t last long. I haven’t had any other relationship since. Erica thinks it was because I was always around Patrick, so naturally everybody thought that we had a thing. I think she was right. Boys would talk to me when I wasn’t with him, but didn’t even notice me when I was. The opposite thing happened when I was with Erica. She was a flirt, and the boys loved it. They would talk to me when I was with her, but not as much when I wasn’t. It’s like Patrick repelled every boy in a 10 mile radius and Erica attracted every boy in a 10 mile radius. I smiled and started picking out my clothes for the day. I settled on a plain light pink v-neck and some jean shorts. I put my hair in a bun on top of my still wet head. (I call it a knob.) Then I put some make up on, grabbed the breakfast tray, and went to find Patrick.
