A Relationship by Chance
Gameday
Fast forward to Wednesday (Bruins opener)
Alexandra's Point of View
It was finally Wednesday!! Even though today was the Bruins first game of the season life still goes on. I was up at 7 to go to practice. Next week would be our first match verse Dayton. Nine games out of nineteen are away games. We don't go too far away for most of the games unlike Tyler who travels all over the place and all the time, I don't know what I was going to do without him here. Luckily the first 3 games of the season are at home. Practice seemed to take forever. I could already tell this day was going to be slow. After practice I went to my apartment and took a shower before class. Then I got dressed in my Bruins sweatshirt and skinny jeans and chestnut bearpaw boots and headed back out to my car. On my way out I heard a familiar voice. It was Tyler and Brad. They were probably heading to morning skate. I stopped and waited for them.
Tyler: "Hey baby love the sweatshirt and necklace."
Me: "Hey and thanks the sweatshirt is just a warm up outfit wait till you see what I'm wearing later."
Brad: "Woah keep it PG."
Me: "OMG that's not what I meant at all."
Tyler: "Haha I'm excited to see that."
Me: "Gotta go can't be late for class and you guys can't be late for morning skate."
Tyler: "But first.."
He kissed me and tried to swipe his tongue in my mouth but I didn't let him and pulled away.
Me: "You'll have to wait for that bye babe."
Tyler: "bye."
With that I ran away and got in my car to head to class.
Tyler's Point of View
It was finally Wednesday. I was excited to get back to playing. I slept in and had breakfast. Morning skate was at 10:30. Brad and I were walking out to his car when I saw Alex. She must of heard us because she stopped and waited.
Me: "Hey baby love the sweatshirt and necklace."
Alex: "Hey and thanks the sweatshirt is just a warm up outfit wait till you see what I'm wearing later."
Brad: "Woah keep it PG."
Alex: "OMG that's not what I meant at all."
She was so cute when she was trying to defend herself.
Me: "Haha I'm excited to see that."
Alex: "Gotta go can't be late for class and you guys can't be late for morning skate."
Me: "But first..."
I then kissed her I tried to get my tongue in her mouth but she was teasing me and then pulled away.
Alex: "You'll have to wait for that bye babe."
Me: "Bye."
After she left and Brad and I walked out to his car and drove to TD Garden.
Brad: "So she gets to meet the guys and their girlfriends/wives tonight. You nervous?
Me: "Nah I think she can handle it and she isn't sitting with the wives and girlfriends tonight. Her and Cherokee already got tickets before we ever met. Are you nervous about playing in front of Cherokee?
Brad: "Oh and no."
Tyler: "Yeah ok have you even talked to her since your date?."
Brad: "Yeah we were texting last night."
Tyler: "oh that's why you were in your room for that period of time."
Brad: "Yeah and it wasn't that long."
We then walked in the locker room and the conversation ended. We got dressed and waited for coach to come in and tell us to head on the ice. Once he came out we headed out to the ice and stretched. As we were stretching we were talking.
Lucic: "Tonight is the night we get to meet the ever so famous Alex."
Bergy: "Oh yeah I forgot about that can't wait to embarrass Seggy."
Tyler: "Please don't."
Horty: "We wouldn't be doing our job as a family if we didn't."
Me: "Ok whatever I just expect the same thing for Marshy though."
Lucic: 'He has a girlfriend too ? How come I am always the last to know everything?"
Brad: "She isn't my girlfriend yet. Thanks Tyler."
Me: " No problem."
Coach: "Ok you guys are all stretched let's go."
We got are line assignments. I was with Marshy and Bergy. We worked on our power play and penalty kill. We didn't work to hard. We had to save are energy. The boys and I were pumped for tonight. We had some free time so we skated around and goofed off. When coach told us we could go my teammates exited the ice. I stayed at center ice and got lost in my thoughts. I was so grateful for the opportunities I have and will have. After that I took a lap around the ice and exited the ice. I took a shower and changed back in to regular clothes. I could leave my gear here because we had a game. I ended up walking home. Brad was still at the rink but I wanted to have a few minutes to myself. My apartment wasn't that far from the garden anyway. I loved looking at the different colors of the leaves on the tree's. Before I knew it I was home. I sat on the couch and watched some TV. After a while I grabbed my laptop and looked up some last minute stuff on the lightning. It was about 2:30 when I finished and logged on to twitter.
@tyerseguin92: Pumped for the game tonight! #Bruins
@tylerseguin92: Bored where you at @soccerdancer61?
Alexandra's Point of View
Finally it was time to go home. I was ready to go home and get ready for the game. But first I had to make a quick stop. I went to pick up my order at Olive Garden. I got fettuccine alfredo for me and Cherokee,Tyler lasagna and Brad spaghetti and meatballs When I was walking in to Olive garden my phone went off. It was a twitter notification.
@tylerseguin92: Bored where you at @soccerdancer61?
@soccerdancer61:On my way home now @tylerseguin92
After a few minutes I got the food and headed home. When I got to my apartment building I went to Tyler's apartment.
Tyler's Point of View
Alex got my tweet and replied.
@soccerdancer61:On my way home now @tylerseguin92
I was sitting on the couch when I heard a knock on the door. I went to answer it and opened the door to see Alex.
Me: "Hey baby. What's up?"
Alex: "Hey babe just thought I'd stop by and give you this."
Alexandra's Point of View
I knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Tyler then came to the door.
Tyler: "Hey baby. What's up?"
Me: "Hey babe just though I'd stop by and give you this."
I handed him the olive garden bag with his and Brad's food in it.
Me: "Since you made me breakfast thought I'd get you dinner. I would have made you dinner but I didn't have time. I don't know if Brad his home but I got something for him too."
Tyler: "Thanks and I understand you were at school all day, come in"
Me: "Are you sure don't want to ruin your focus?"
Tyler: "Yeah I'm sure."
Me: "ok."
We ate are food on the couch and talked about are days. I didn't want to bring up the game. I could tell through his eyes that he was nervous. We fed each other are food and shared them. When we were done it was getting late and I still had to get dressed and get Cherokee her food. Brad wasn't home he spent the day at a teammates house. I left but not before Tyler kissing me passionately.
Me: "I'll see you later."
Tyler: "Are you meeting me before or after?"
Me: "I'll meet you after the game. You will be able to see me from where I'm sitting."
I kissed him on the cheek and left. It didn't matter that I ate dinner with Tyler because I am sure Cherokee was ready at noon. I walked in to the apartment and yelled "food!"
Cherokee: " Oh there you are I was starting to get worried."
Me: "Sorry I had to drop something off at Tyler's."
Cherokee: "Oh..."t.
Me: "Here, I have to go get ready."
Tyler's Point of View
Brad got here a couple minutes after Alex left. He then ate the food that Alex got for him while I changed in my suit. If we didn't hurry we were going to be late so I decided to drive. Brad was eating his food as I drove. The traffic wasn't bad but that was because it was a while to puck drop. We got to the arena headed to the locker room and got are stuff ready for warm-ups.
Alexandra's Point of View
I handed her the bag of food and went to the bathroom to take a shower. I had my Ipod blaring as I was singing and getting ready. After showering I dried my hair and started to straighten my hair. Straightening my hair takes forever but I loved the way it looked after and the way it felt. After doing my hair I pulled my Seguin jersey over a yellow cami. Then I put on a yellow headband and put my gold hoop earrings in. Then I put on some makeup and was ready to go. Before we left we took a couple pictures together and took a couple selfies. I tweeted my picture.
@soccerdancer61: (picture) First Bruins game of the season. Let's go @tylerseguin92 !! #Bruins #excited
After I tweeted I grabbed my grey pea coat. I love pea coats I have one in most colors. Then I got my purse and phone and was ready to go. Cherokee and I decided on walking no need to get in the traffic and get there in 20 minutes when we could probably get there in less then 10. We walked out of are building and headed to the garden. Luckily it wasn't to cold tonight so the walk to the garden wasn't that bad. As you got closer to the garden you could feel the energy. It was electric. When we got to the garden we waited in a sea of black and yellow to get are tickets scanned. When we finally got to are seats warm-ups were halfway over. The first thing I did was search for number 19. He was on the opposite side of the ice. I must have stopped walking cause Cherokee gave me a little nudge.
Cherokee: "You can look at him when we get to our seats." She whispered.
I blushed a little and walked to our seats and sat down. Then went back to focusing on warm-ups.
Tyler's Point of View
I kept looking for Alex but she wasn't here. I hoped she was ok. Halfway through warm-ups I saw her. She was walking down the stairs. I looked away for a second trying to not make it obvious that she was here in front of my teammates and when I looked up she was still standing on the same step. That was when Cherokee gave her a little nudge and said something to her. Whatever she said made her blush and she began walking to her seat. When she got to her seat she started focusing on warm-ups. I think she was nervous for the game. Before I knew it, it was time to head back to the locker room. After coach gave us a motivational speech we just sat and relaxed.
Looch: "So is your girl here?'
Me: "Yeah."
Looch" "Where is sitting?"
Me: "You'll have to figure that out yourself."
Looch: "Fine be that way."
I just laughed and went into a deep thought.
Alexandra's Point of View
When the guys left the ice I realized how nervous I was. What if they lost? How was I going to help Tyler if they did? What if Tyler got hurt? I was definitely becoming stressed. Cherokee could tell.
Cherokee: "You alright?"
Me: "Yeah just nervous."
Cherokee: "Oh yeah this is your first game as a WAG."
Me: "Yeah I have all these what if's going through my head."
Cherokee: "Just relax treat it like a phantom game when we were younger. You can't worry about things that are out of your control"
Me:" Yeah your right. I'm going to head to the bathroom. I'll be right back.
Cherokee: "Ok hurry though Tyler might be worried if he doesn't see you."
Me: "Oh believe me I will be quick definitely don't want to miss the beginning to this game."
I then ran up the stairs and towards the bathroom. There was no line for the bathroom which was a small victory in it self. I went to the bathroom and did my business as I was going to head out of the stall I felt something coming up. I turned towards the toilet and emptied the contents of my stomach. It must have been something I ate and me stressing out probably didn't help. I wiped my mouth and flushed the toilet. I washed my hands and looked at myself in the mirror. I was pale. I was hoping no one would notice. I then scurried back to my seat just in time to see the guys enter the ice. They skated around as Tyler came by he winked at me and gave me a smile. I smiled back and blushed. The starters stayed out on the ice for the national anthem and the rest of the guys returned to the bench. Then out walked Rene Rancourt. I loved hearing him sing the national anthem. It never got old. After he sung everyone cheered and sat down.
Me:" Hey do you have a piece of gum?"
Cherokee: "Yeah here you go."
Me: "Thanks your a lifesaver."
I was so happy she had some. My breath was disgusting.
Cherokee: "You okay you look kind of pale?"
Me: "Yeah just wanted to make sure my breath was fresh."
Cherokee: "Ok."
The period went on. Not much happened. At the end of the first period it was 0-0. There wasn't one penalty either. It was almost like a playoff game. During the first period I was starting to get dizzy. I forgot that was always a side effect when I threw up.
Cherokee: "Hey I'm going to get a pretzel. Do you need anything?"
Me: "Could you get me a water?"
Cherokee: "Yeah no problem. Anything else?"
Me: "No I'm good thank ya."
Cherokee: "Kk be right back."
Cherokee's Point of View
I knew something was wrong with Alex. When she came back from the bathroom she was pale like she saw a ghost. I was trying to think what was wrong as I walked to get my pretzel and Alex's water. Another way I knew Alex wasn't ok she always got something to eat during the first intermission. When I got back to our seats I saw Alex with her eyes closed. She definitely wasn't ok.
Me: "Here...".
Alex: "Thanks."
Me: "Ok we have been friends since 6th grade I know something is wrong so you better tell me."
Alex: "I'm fine."
Alexandra's Point of View
After Cherokee left I closed my eyes. I wasn't dizzy when I had my eyes closed. When she came back she had that look on her face. I knew she knew I wasn't ok. She asked me if I was ok and I said I was fine. When I said that she raised her eyebrow and that was the look that always made me spill.
Me: "Fine I'm just a little dizzy."
Cherokee: "How dizzy are we talking dizzy in like 8th grade or dizzy like you spun around twice?"
Me: "8th grade." I said in a mumble.
Cherokee: "Did you say 8th grade?
Me: "Yes."
Cherokee: "Wait you threw up didn't you?"
Me: "Yes." I said in another mumble.
Cherokee: "We should head out."
Me: "I couldn't do that to Tyler."
Cherokee: "Alex he would understand. You have school and soccer to worry about."
Me: "I'll be fine if it gets any worse we will leave."
Cherokee: "You promise?"
Me: "Yes."
Cherokee: "Ok."
Tyler's Point of View
During the first period I would sneak glances at Alex. She looked pale. I was hoping she was alright. I knew Cherokee would watch after her. I just needed to focus on the game and I knew Alex wouldn't want me to worry about her. We lined up and headed out to the ice. We had a couple chances in the first but didn't execute. I wanted to win this game badly not only for me and my team but my baby.
Alexandra's Point of View
The second period came soon. I was starting to feel worse but I wasn't going to tell Cherokee that. I needed to put how I felt out of my head and be here to support my man. The second period was a lot like the first period. The guys were obviously still rusty. I knew the guys were going to win this they have had so many chances. During the intermission I sat and rested my eyes. Before I knew it, it was time for the 3rd. I was ready to go home. I wanted to be in my comfy bed. Then finally it happened. With 8:13 left the bruins scored. A goal by Nathan Horton and assists by David Krejci and Andrew Ference. I was so happy I forgot about my dizziness. I jumped in to Cherokee's arms and we screamed. I was suddenly feeling a little better probably an adrenaline rush that won't last too long. After the goal time seemed to go incredibly slow. I just wanted to go and see Tyler.
Tyler's Point of View
I was getting ready for my shift when we scored. I looked over to where Alex was sitting and saw her jump into Cherokee's arms and they were screaming. I just shook my head and laughed. I was hoping we would get the win but time was going very slow.
Alexandra's Point of View
After what seemed like an eternity the game ended and the Bruins won. I was so happy and I jumped in Cherokee's arms and we screamed.
Cherokee: "Your first win as a WAG!"
Me: "I know !!"
Cherokee and I waited till the garden emptied out before heading to the locker room. I was nervous this was I would get to meet the guys. If they didn't like me Tyler would probably dump me. I would probably also meet some of the other WAGS. We got past the security guards and were told to wait until someone told us we could enter. There were a couple WAGS waiting. I took a deep breath and hoped they would like me and I would fit in. The first to come up to us was a brown eyed blonde.
"Hi I'm Stephanie."
Me: "Hi I'm Alexandra but you can call me Alex and this is Cherokee."
Stephanie: "Nice to meet you."
Me: "Nice to meet you too."
Stephanie: "Oh you must be Seguin's new girlfriend. Patrice has been waiting all week to meet you."
Me: "Really?" I laughed
WAGS: "Yeah they are all so excited to see the girl Segs has been talking about all the time."
Me: "Hope I don't ruin anyone's expectations."
Stephanie: "Tyler's never really been in a serious relationship."
Me: "Oh..."
Then Claude Julien came out and told us we could go in. Cherokee and I followed the rest of the WAGS. I was starting to feel sick again. I guess the adrenaline wore off. I took a deep breath before walking in. As I walked in I immediately looked for Tyler. I found him already showered and dressed. He was packing up his hockey gear. I walked up to him and said "hey".
Tyler: " Oh hey baby."
Me: "Great game."
Tyler: "Thanks are you ok?"
Tyler's Point of View
I saw Alex walk in behind all the other WAGS. She definitely wasn't acting like herself. I knew her regular self would have ran up to me and jumped in my arms. I asked her and she had that look on her face. I sat her in my lap and asked again.
Me: "What's wrong?"
Alex: "Just not feeling well. I'll be ok"
Me: "Ok come on let's go home."
Alex: "What about Brad and Cherokee?"
Me: "I think Brad is going out and I'm sure he'll ask Cherokee to come with."
Alex: "Ok but I need to go to the bathroom first. I'll meet you back here?"
Me: "Yeah I'll meet you right back her ok."
Alexandra's Point of View
As we were talking I was starting to feel something in my stomach. I tried to hurry the conversation so I could go to the bathroom. I basically ran to the bathroom and by the time I was in the stall I was emptying more contents of my stomach. I cleaned my mouth and washed my hands. I then walked back to the locker room and tried to hide the fact I was feeling like crap. I saw Tyler and walked over to him and he grabbed my hand.
Tyler's Point of View
Alex practically ran to the bathroom. I decided to walk over to Cherokee and ask her.
Me: "Hey can we talk?"
Cherokee: "Yeah sure what do you need?"
Me: "What's wrong with Alex?"
Cherokee: "She is probably emptying the contents of her stomach again."
Me: "She's throwing up again?"
Cherokee: "Yeah she threw up went we got here. Poor Alex it took her everything she had to make it through this game."
Me: "Why didn't you take her home? She has soccer and school!"
Cherokee: "I tried but she really wanted to be here to support you."
I was talking to Brad when Alex walked in. I grabbed her hand and told her "let's go." I picked her up and put her on my back. Cherokee told me she got really dizzy after she would puke. I had her on my back and my hockey gear on my shoulder. She tried to get off but I wouldn't let her. I didn't want her getting hurt. When we got to the car I put my gear in the car and then went to the passenger side and set Alex down. I let her get settled in and shut the door behind her. I then got into the car and grabbed her hand. I tried getting her home asap but the traffic wasn't helping. She ended up falling asleep. I felt so bad for her. I couldn't believe she felt like this and stayed through the whole game just for me. Fifteen minutes later we were finally home. I tried getting out of the car quietly but that didn't happen when I shut the door she woke up. I grabbed my hockey stuff and took her hand and we walked inside. I was going to take her to her apartment and stay with her till Cherokee got home. She opened her apartment and said "I'm going to take a shower."
Me: "Ok I'm going to drop off my gear and change and I'll be right back."
She nodded her head and walked in the bathroom. When I heard the bathroom door shut I ran out and went to my apartment. I put my gear in my room and changed into sweatpants and a tank top. I then grabbed my key and phone before running back to Alex's apartment. When I got there I sat on the couch and watched TV. A few minutes later she came out and sat next to me. She put her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her.
Me: "How are you feeling?"
Alex: "A little better now."
Me: "That's good."
We just sat and talked and eventually she fell asleep in my arms. She was so cute. I didn't want to wake her so I just stayed and fell in to a deep sleep.
