A Relationship by Chance

Before I knew it, it was Halloween. The soccer team finished the season 12-6-1. Between Tyler's schedule as well as mine it became hard to see each other, but we made it work. Because I had to travel for soccer I wasn't always at the rink, which I missed. I have gotten super close with all the guys they even surprised me at one of my soccer games. Now that soccer season was over I would be at the rink everyday they didn't have an away game. Tonight the boys had a game vs. the penguins, you could say I was excited. It would be the first time I got to see Sidney play in person but I still had a job to do. Morning skate was at 10 and for whatever reason I was really excited. I left a little early to get a coolatta at dunkin donuts. I was at the rink earlier than normal, it was weird. I walked into the trainers room and set my stuff down and before I could turn around Jack was already chirping at me. "Are you feeling okay shorty?" Jack said. "Yeah, why?" I questioned. "Your always early but never this early." Jack laughed. "Yeah, I don't know why." I said with a laugh. "Do you mind if I take a quick walk?" I asked Jack. "No problem shorty." he said. Then I was off. I knew where I was going, the rink. I got there and took a seat on the Bruins bench, I couldn't imagine playing in front of a packed crowd every night. It must be a rush. I sat there for a good 5 minutes just thinking about things before I needed to head back. I wasn't even looking when I ran into someone. "I'm so sorry. " I said looking up. It was him. The guy I admired for years, Sidney Crosby. "It's fine no worries." he said. "Well I better get going." I said embarrassed. "Wait, what's your name?" he asked. "Alex." I said walking away.

Sidney's Point of View

I was going to the rink to get some time alone when I saw this girl sitting on the Bruins bench. She was so beautiful and lost in thought I didn't want to bother her. As I stood there weighing my options I felt someone hit me, it was her. "I'm so sorry." she said looking up at me. "It's fine no worries." I said with a smile. "Well I better get going ." she responded slightly embarrassed. "Wait, what's your name?" I questioned. "Alex." she said walking away. "Alex" I whispered under my breath. I hoped I would run into her later, I was attracted to her.

Alex's Point of View

I was walking back towards the trainers room when I heard the voice of my love. "Hey baby." Tyler said hugging me. "Hey babe." I said reciprocating the hug. "Happy Halloween!" he said. "Ugh, don't remind me." I said with a hint of laughter. "But it is our first holiday together." I continued. "Are you feeling alright?" Tyler asked. "Why do people keep asking me that? I'm fine." I said kind of annoyed. "Well you better get ready for morning skate talk to you later." I said walking away. I walked into the trainers room and said "Alright Jack I'm ready, sorry I ran into Tyler in the hall." "It's alright." Jack says. While Jack and I waited we read over the files of currently injured guys and made sure we were helping them heal properly. Before I knew it there were guys filing in for ice, massages and all that other good stuff. Once everyone got everything they needed and left the rink, Jack and I were allowed to go home. On my way out it almost happened again but I stopped before I ran into him, lucky for me because he was in his pads probably heading to his morning skate. "We really have to stop running into each other like this" I laughed. "I don't mind it." he said with a smile. This couldn't be happening right now I thought. "Will I see you at the game?" he continued. "Yeah I'll be here." I said with a smile. "Well I don't want to make you late, maybe i'll see you later." I said walking away. When I got back to the apartment I sat on the couch and turned on the TV. I don't know why I was so on edge today. I decided maybe if I took a nap I would relax a little but after 45 minutes of watching TV I realized that I wasn't going to be sleeping.

Tyler's Point of View

When I saw Alex in the hallway something was different. She seemed on edge and I couldn't think of a reason why. I managed to stop thinking about it for morning skate but the minute I stepped off the ice it came back to my mind. What could it be? I thought.

Alex's Point of View

Cherokee soon walked in and not even a minute after walking through the door I spoke. "Cherokee we need to talk." I said. After a long conversation we finally figured everything out. We chalked it up to me overthinking like I normally did and I did feel better after talking about it. After our conversation I needed to go apologize to Tyler for my behavior this morning. I took the elevator and knocked on his door. As the door opened it was Brad behind it. "Oh hey Brad." I said with a smile. "Is Tyler here?" I continued. "Yeah." Brad said. "Is everything okay between you two?" Brad asked. ""Yeah, well it's going to be. I was a little on edge this morning and I came to talk to him." "Well he's in his room." Brad says. "Thank you." I say walking through there apartment. I slowly open the door and see him in his bed asleep. I walk over to him and climb up on his bed and straddle him. He doesn't wake up so I give him a light kiss on his cheek and around his face till I reach his lips. Of course that wakes him. When he opens his eyes his lips form into a smile. "I hate to ruin your nap but I came to apologize for how I acted this morning." I said looking down at him. When I finish that sentence he starts laughing. "What?" I whine. "Nothing but you felt the need to come here and apologize for that." Tyler said. "Yes, I felt bad about it." I said with a pout. "Ugh you are so adorable come here." Tyler says sitting up and giving me a kiss. After that we just sat and talked until he had to get ready for his game. He let me pick his tie, I chose a turquoise colored one. After I chose his tie I headed to my apartment to grab my things. I then met Tyler in the lobby and we headed to his car. We made it a thing to drive to the rink together. We would listen to Drake. Once we arrived we would walk hand in hand to the door share a quick kiss and then go our separate ways.

Game Time

The first period came and went. There were no goals, there wasn't even a penalty. As the second period came along things started to heat up. Six minutes into the new period Lucic gets an interference call against Tanner Glass. Then 40 seconds later the pens score a power play goal courtesy of Chris Kunitz. That was all for scoring in the period. There was a tripping call against the penguins and a roughing call between Sidney and Torey Krug which I thought was weird. The third period soon came and brought 4 goals. A minute into the period Patrice Bergeron scores with the assists from Tyler and Brad of course. This tied the game 1-1. But it wasn't tied for long because nine minutes later Brandon Sutter scored making the game 2-1. Then seven minutes later Jussi Jokinen scored making the game 3-1. It was looking like the bruins were going to lose when less than a minute later Tyler scores with the assists from Lucic and Bergeron making the game 3-2. The garden roared for the rest of the game, but the boys fell short. I was bummed for them because they looked so good out there but you can't win them all. After the game I went to the trainers room and made sure everyone was taken care of. After that I was free to go home where Tyler and I would eat some candy and popcorn while we watched a scary movie. I used to spend every Halloween since 8th grade doing that with my mom but since she wasn't here I convinced Tyler into doing it with me. Cherokee and Brad were going out tonight so it would just be Tyler and I. I was locking up the trainers room because Jack needed to get home, I ran into him again. "Hey Alex." he said brown eyes looking right into mine. "Hey congratulations on the win." I said with a smile. "Thanks." he said. "So." he continued. "So." I smiled. "Can I have your number?" he said. At that moment my mind went crazy. I know I should have said no... but I couldn't. "Sure." I said with a smile and gave him my number. "Well I need to get home, talk to you later Sid." I said walking away. I couldn't believe this was happening. I was so happy to be home and cuddled into Tyler's side, today was crazy. Tyler and I managed to watch the whole movie before we went to bed. It was a great night with him. "Happy Halloween." I said kissing his lips and cuddling into him falling asleep.

Tyler's Point of View

After the game I went to Alex's apartment and changed into a t-shirt and sweats. She coaxed me into watching a scary movie with her. I didn't' mind it at all because I knew she used to do this with her mom but her mom was at home. Minutes after everything was ready she walked through the door. "Hey babe. she said with a smile before giving me a kiss. "I'm going to change." she continued before walking into her room. She came out in her pajama's and snuggled into my side. She seemed happy. I was happy that I got to share this moment with her. I couldn't wait to spend Thanksgiving with her and her family. I was surprised that we both made it through the movie. We both had long days. After the movie we dragged ourselves to bed. Once we were both comfortable in bed Alex turned into me and said "Happy Halloween." giving me a kiss after and then cuddling into my side. I was so in love with this girl.
