A Relationship by Chance
Moving In
It was the last week in August. I have spent all summer making sure everything was perfect and ran smoothly for when I got to Boston. Cherokee and I found an amazing apartment. It wasn’t cheap but we have been saving money forever. I did some last minute packing. I didn’t only have to pack my own stuff I had to pack my dog’s stuff. My parents didn’t one hundred percent agree with me on bringing him but I convinced them. They told me if he became too much they would watch him. Claude was only 7 months old. When I was done packing I texted Cherokee.
Me: Heyy I can’t believe we leave tomorrow. You better get some sleep see you at 7 at my house. Love ya <3
She texted back.
Cherokee: Can’t believe we leave tomorrow. It is a new chapter of our lives. You know no matter how much sleep I get I will still be tired. I am definitely not a morning person see you tomorrow at 7. Love ya too.
I got the text and smiled. It was 11:30 and I had to get up at 6. I better get some sleep. I woke up to my alarm clock. It was playing Beautiful day by Elize. I loved that song ever since I heard it on Dance Moms. It was a beautiful day the sun was shining through my window. I got up and got ready for the long day of driving ahead of me. I put on a pair of sweatpants. They are so comfortable and I put on my Bruins sweat shirt it had a number 19 and Seguin on the back of it. I put my hair in a bun on the top of my head. I also grabbed my Chanel sunglasses. I put my boxes in my parent’s car. I was driving my own car there and Cherokee had to put her boxes in my car. My parents wanted to make sure we were settled in so that is why they were coming. My parents would also be bringing the dog. Cherokee got here at 6:50. We were dressed almost the same. Except she had her cross country sweatshirt on. I didn’t get her a Bruins sweatshirt yet because she doesn’t have a favorite player on the team yet. We didn’t even plan are outfits. It just happened we both knew it could be a long drive because other kids were leaving for college too. I didn’t start school for another week but I wanted to get settled in. When we got her boxes in my car we left I had one last thing I had to do. I drove to our high school and took one last look. Cherokee and I were both crying it finally sunk in we graduated high school. After 5 minutes of that we got our selves together. It was 7 so we got in the car prepared the travel tunes and drove off. Boston here we come!! We yelled. We were singing along to the music when my phone rang I asked Cherokee to see who it was because I was driving. It was my parents. They wanted to make sure we were ok. Cherokee told them we were fine and that we would meet them at the first rest stop. After that we turned up the music and we sang along. “You make me feel like I’m living a teenage dream the way you turn me on” we sung. Before we knew it we were at the first rest stop. I called my parents and asked where they were. They would be there in ten minutes. Cherokee and I went in the rest stop and got some food and drinks for the rest of the trip. By the time we paid for it my parents were there. We all bought a snack and sat down and ate it. When we were done we left and told them we would see them at the apartment complex. They told us to drive safely and we told them the same. It was Cherokee’s turn to drive. I was hoping she wouldn’t wreck my car. I was so ready for a break my eyes burned. We buckled up and drove away. I took out my phone and tweeted:
@soccerdancer61: @bala2591’s turn to drive. #ohboy #helpme lol <3
I continued to play on my phone. When we hit the last rest stop we stopped to switch drivers and do our business. It was a quick trip. Then we got in the car buckled up and I started driving. Cherokee got her phone and was playing with it.
Cherokee’s point of view
I got on my phone and tweeted
@bala2591: Don’t let @soccerdancer61 fool you she isn’t the best driver either #3rdcar . I’m not driving because I have road rage.

We were fifteen minutes away from our apartment. I was so excited to see it. When we got there my mouth dropped and so did Cherokee’s. It was beautiful. That only made us more excited. We went to the front desk and got our room key. I texted my parents and told them we were here. They had a half an hour to go because they stopped at all the rest stops to let Claude out and do his business and stretch out. I told them that Cherokee and I were going to get more keys made. I asked them how many the wanted they said one would be plenty. Cherokee asked her parents and they wanted one as well and we needed a spare key and Cherokee needed one as well. We haven’t seen our apartment yet. So we went to see it Cherokee turned the key and I opened the door. Our mouths dropped. It wasn’t an apartment it was more of a loft. It was huge. Cherokee and I turned at each other and hugged and screamed. Luckily it was like 11:34 and people were at work they would have thought we were crazy. We toured the apartment the living room was huge. There were two master bedrooms a guest room a kitchen and a huge bathroom. The movers already dropped off the furniture and it was all set up now we just had to add are personal belongings. My parents called and told me they have arrived. Cherokee and I went down to the first floor and saw my parents. They couldn’t get a word in. Cherokee and I pulled them to the elevator and walked to our door and told them to close there eyes. We walked them in and my mom immediately started crying tears of joy. She loved it. We eventually got all the boxes up stairs it took forever. I thanked my parents. They said they were tired and they would go to there hotel we told them they could stay at our place but they wanted us to enjoy our first night in are apartment. We would meet up for dinner later. Cherokee and I started to unpack. The first thing we set up was the stereo so we could sing and unpack. We got the stuff we needed for tonight unpacked. We then changed and got ready for dinner. We were going to the Harp because it reminded me of Shane Harper an Adirondack Phantom player back home. Cherokee and I were practically sleeping through dinner. We were exhausted. We didn’t even notice there were a bunch of Bruins players there. After dinner Cherokee and I went back home. We changed in to pj’s and were going to watch a movie but realized we didn’t set up the DVD player and were too lazy to so we went to bed.
