Well if everything happens for a reason, what is up with my life? My boyfriend of four years just broke it off with me but I don't see the upside of this yet, even if I haven't found it yet. But that is what everyone is telling me. Just give it time, he was a jerk, you deserved better anyway and blah, blah, blah. It has been five months still have no answers. Am I supposed to be left alone for the rest of my life?

"Hello? Earth to Madison?"

Shaking my head I snap back to see a very annoyed best friend, Kelly.

"This is starting to get ridiculous now." Giving me the look I sigh glancing down at my untouched coffee. "You need to snap out of it now Madds. This isn't healthy; it's been what five months?"

Huffing she reaches into her bag for the buzzing phone. Rolling my eyes I glance out the coffee shop window and watch the few snowflakes fall, making a light blanket on the ground. Watching one little flake hit the ground I feel a tap on my shoulder.

“Come on lets go.” Kelly slings her bag over her shoulder and throws her knitted hat back on her head. Grabbing my scarf I slip out of the booth after her and into the cold afternoon.
“You need to cheer up! I have an early birthday present for you!” Smiling at me as we walk I slip me gloves on giving her a small smile in return.

“So where are we going?” Kicking some rocks down the road we continue our way back to campus. Smirking at me she just shakes her head. “You know I am not a big fan of surprises.”

“I can’t tell you anything, just relax. You will enjoy this!” Pulling my hand she drags me the rest of the way to the car. Sliding into the passenger seat I sigh and turning the heat up I smile as Kelly speeds off. With the short ride back to campus Kelly practically yells at me as she sprints out the car. Claiming she will only be a few minutes. Following her I see that she is meeting her boyfriend, Ernesto Val, one of the newbies for the schools hockey team. Knowing that she won’t be back for a while I glance down at my phone. Sighing at no new messages I jump when there is a tap on the window, hitting my head against the seat.

“Oh god, Madds you okay?” Putting the window down I feel the back of my head for a bump. Looking around the man I sign realizing that Kelly is nowhere in sight I look at Tyler Evans. Nodding my head he smiles at me and leans against the car. “Good, wouldn’t want a pretty face like yours hurt.” Winking at me, it takes every once I have not to roll my eyes at him. Let’s get this straight, Tyler is one of the most arrogant players on the team you can meet, not that he is the best player on the team but he likes to think he is tough shit.

“So what are you doing tonight?”

Giving him a small smile, “Um..Kelly has something planned for tonight.”

“Well why not ditch her and come hang out with me.” Running a hand through his hair, he tries to give me a seductive look. “Come to my game tonight and then go back to my place to hang out.”

“She isn’t available Tyler, so just run along we have places to be like five minutes ago.” Giving her best impatient look, Tyler shakes his head, and with a roll of his eyes grumbles.

“Just text me if you get sick of the she devil there.” Winking he finally walks away and goes back to his group of friends.

“One of these days I am gonna knock his face in.” Gripping the steering wheel until her knuckles are white I burst out laughing.

“Just drive you mad women, we have some place to be right?” Smiling at me she goes into gear and is off.
