Chapter Twenty Nine

CiCi stretched her arms over her head. The early morning sunlight was filtering through the propped open door. She peaked open an eye and caught a glimpse of Sidney leaning over the ledge staring out at the sea. He had sun-kissed skin and his hair was ruffled all over the place.

She quietly slipped out of bed and walked up behind him, slipping her arms around Sidney's waist and kissing the exposed skin on his back. "Good morning," she said against his skin. She felt the muscles flex as he clasped a hand overtop hers.

"Good morning, sleep well?" He asked without turning around.

"I've slept wonderfully all week. And I have you to thank for that," CiCi said as Sid turned around to face her. He kept her close to his body as she dragged her hands up his bare chest. He leaned down and lightly ghosted his lips against hers.

"You know this all ends tomorrow. I can't stay as much as I want to."

"Please?"

"Baby, I can come back later. But Taylor is graduating and I haven't been around much for her milestones as she has been for mine."

"Yeah I know. When can you come back?"

"I don't really know. I'd have to talk to Andy, my trainer, to figure that out. And I have the NHL awards that I have to go to at the end of June."

"Okay," she rested her forehead against his chest and sighed feeling slightly defeated.

"Let's make the most of this full day we have together. What would you like to do? Go to the beach? Explore that museum you've been trying to get me to go to? Shopping? You name it."

CiCi pretended to think about it, but she secretly knew what she wanted to do. A small smile spread across her face and she quirked an eyebrow at him.

"What?" He asked slowly as he tried to suppress a smile.

"I'd like to do you, all day." Sidney felt his heart skip a beat and a pull in his groin. They hadn't been intimate since before the Olympics. And here they were, four months later in a very romantic setting and she is telling him that she wants it.

"Are you sure?" He asked hesitantly, inwardly hoping she was.

She nodded and kissed him desperately, clinging, her arms holding him to her so tightly he thought she might break him. And he kissed her back with an eagerness that took him by surprise. This was the kiss he had been dying for from her. After spending all week sharing light pecks and being cautious with each other. He easily lifted her in his arms and carried her back into the suite and towards the extra large bed.

She felt the warmth spread in her belly, heating her through and making her toes curl. Her fingers dug into his skin in her attempt to get even closer, the dim light of the rising sun casting a glow about the room. He broke her kiss and heard her whimper slightly as he pressed his lips to her neck. Her fingers tangled in his hair, bringing him closer still.

Suddenly she pushed him away, he jumped back, scared that he hurt her. Scared that she didn't want him still, he withdrew his hands. But she did not want him to stop, instead she pulled her night shirt over her head, exposing the roundness of her breasts. It was the first time she made such a bold move in months, and he couldn't take his eyes off her.

"CiCi, I don't want you to do anything that can hurt you."

CiCi looked into his eyes, searching them for something she always saw. The softness, the kindness that was entirely Sidney enveloped her. "Sidney, please." She said the words so softly, such a quiet plea for him drove him mad.

He was on her again, kissing her, his hands in her hair, on her breasts, tugging at the waistline of her shorts. He could not stop touching her in his frenzy, and she didn't want him to. For today, she wanted to lose herself in this. And for the day let them be what they were meant to.

She scratched her nails up his chest, pressing kisses along her path, loving him completely for the time he spent taking care of himself. He laid back onto the softness of the bed, enjoying the feeling of her hair on his chest, loving that she was there with him. Loving her as surely as he ever had.

CiCi stopped, looking up at him lustfully, then pressed her hand to the bulge in his pants. Sidney couldn't help the groan that escaped him. No one ever touched him the way CiCi did, and he never thought she would again. He was content to hold her forever, with nothing more than soft kisses and unfulfilled desires, if that was what she needed. But this, this was much better.

She moved her hand slowly, gently touching; he grew hard in her hand. She tugged at the waistband of his pants, pulling at the tie that held them together. He sat forward, his eyes meeting hers again, and she smiled slightly. "I want this," she said simply, reading his thoughts before he spoke them.

Already naked, he felt very exposed before her. Her own bare skin gleamed beautifully in the light. He reached forward and began to trace his fingers along the curve of her breasts and she pushed forward allowing his hands to cover her more. He looked lower and noticed the faint pink line from her surgery and felt her shift to try to hide what he was seeing.

"You're beautiful," he told her. She smiled a little, not looking entirely convinced. He tilted her head so that her eyes met his again. "You. Are. Beautiful."

His hands traveled down the bareness of her flesh, finally settling on the waistband of her shorts, before he tugged them down. For a moment they just sat, taking in each other's nakedness. He smelled musky, his desire for her clear on ever feature he had. She reached out, touching him skin on skin for the first time in months. He was ready for her, the soft, pink tip slightly moist with his excitement. Boldly, she leaned forward and touched her tongue to him lightly. The moan he let out made her giggle softly.

"Sorry," he muttered, looking a little embarrassed.

"No, that's exactly what I want to hear from you."

He grinned. He kissed her again, more gently this time, less frenzied. He laid her back, laying on his side next to her. "Let's just take this slow. We have all day."

She nodded, running her fingers down his chest. He pressed kisses to her eyelids and forehead, moving his head down slowly. He wanted to kiss and taste and touch every inch of her, and he loved the sounds she made when he touched her somewhere and she liked it. It was a sound he missed. It seemed like hours went by, it might have been, where they sat together, getting reacquainted with each other's bodies. He loved how she shivered when he pushed a finger into the wetness between her legs. She loved how she made him so stiff in her hand, and the way he moaned when she flicked his cock with her tongue.

Finally, both shivering with a desperate sort of need, he pressed himself down between her legs. She gladly accommodated his hips as he slowly slipped inside himself into her. She cried out softly, the size of him and the fact that she hadn't had him in her for so long made it a bit uncomfortable at first. He paused, savoring the feel of the wetness of her cunt. He started to move, listening to the sounds she made to guide him. When she took a sharp breath, he knew he pushed too hard too fast, so he slowed himself.

She wrapped her arms around him, kissing him firmly as he moved inside her. It took a few minutes for her to feel the rhythm, for her to relax and feel the familiar sensations. When she was ready, she urged him forward and he complied happily. It was not long before he couldn't stand it anymore and started thrusting in earnest. She wrapped her legs around his back, thrusting her hips back at him. She felt her orgasm building, and she started to tremble beneath him. With a suddenness she wasn't expecting her orgasm crashed over her and she moaned his name loudly in his ear, urging him further forward, until he too was sent into spasm. He felt himself erupt inside her, coming harder than he ever had with her. Slowly, he rocked his hips against her until both of them subsided.

He rolled them over so that they were facing each other on their sides, "Are you okay?"

"That was worth the wait," she cooed and rolled onto her back. She threw her arms over her head and sighed content. Sid admired her figure, and carefully ran a finger along CiCi's surgical incisions.

"You know, I never noticed these before," Sid whispered as he studied the older scars.

"I made sure you only ever fucked me in the dark. Or we were in a position that made it difficult for you to see or I wore clothes."

"Shut up," Sid laughed, "Can you feel this?" He glided along the newer scar and watched her reaction.

"No," she said. He slipped his hand lower and tickled along her pubic bone. "Don't tease unless you aim to please."

"It didn't feel...different, did it?" Sid was hesitant in asking.

"It felt amazing and I want to do it again and again and again."

"And I didn't hurt you?"

"Sid! Stop! If it had hurt I would have stopped you. I'm not scared to say no. I know you're just being cautious, but honestly, it was fantastic!"

"Fantastic eh?" He rolled on top of her and propped himself up with his hands. "I think I can do better."

"Oh you do, do you?" CiCi twisted her fingers through his messy hair.

"Yes I do," he said as he slipped inside and begun round two.

"Ugh! Why can't we just stay here forever?" CiCi grumbled as she watched Sidney pack his bags up the following morning. He had to catch a train to Paris to fly out back to the states later that night.

"It's only for a little while longer," Sid said carefully. He was feeling the same way as CiCi and wondered how he was going to be able to leave her in Cassis for another five months. He needed to figure out a way to come back, at least for another visit if nothing else.

"What time do you have to go?" She was refusing to move from the bed and pack her own things to take back to her villa.

"In about an hour," he said softly. "If you don't want to go back to the villa I can arrange for you to stay here until the fellowship is over."

"No! You don't have to do that, you've already done enough for me just by showing up and spoiling me all week. Besides, how would it look to all the other students if I said 'my extremely wealthy boyfriend is getting me out of these dire living conditions for the remainder of our time here.' I'm trying to dazzle them with my charm and abilities not turn them against me."

Sid chuckled and rolled his eyes at her little outburst. After a few quiet moments he said, "I'll be back."

"I know."

"And we will talk every day. None of this when we have time bullshit. You made me think you were busy all day, everyday."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I was trying to give you a chance to move on from me."

"And all it did was put me on a plane here to see you."

"Eh, so my plan backfired. I like that it did," she burrowed under the comforter on the bed and peaked out over the edge of the blanket. Sid smiled at her and climbed onto the bed hovering over her.

"Hiding will get you nowhere. I will find you."

"Maybe that's it. Maybe I am just looking to be found." Sid smiled and leaned down to capture CiCi's lips in a heated kiss.

*****
Sidney pulled out his phone as soon as he landed in Pittsburgh to call CiCi. He knew it was after midnight in France, but he wanted her to know that he had landed and that he was safe. When she didn't answer he assumed she was asleep so he left a message. The next morning he allowed himself to sleep late, and he tried again when he woke knowing that it was the afternoon and CiCi's scheduled lectures were over.

Sidney left his phone behind and went for a jog around the suburban neighborhood, hoping that maybe he will have a missed call when he got back. His first thought was that CiCi left her phone in the hotel room after they left yesterday morning. But he spoke with her between the train ride and boarding the plane in Paris, so he knew that wasn't the case.

He was starting to get worried when he returned home from an easy five mile run to find that she still hadn't called him back. He tried again and when the phone went to voicemail he started considering other options on how to reach her. He didn't spend the week over there meeting her housemates, so exchanging pleasantries and numbers with the promise to stay in touch was out.

He thought of the admissions people who would have to have CiCi's information on file in New York an option. He recalled seeing piles of paperwork come through from the organization that sent CiCi over there, surely there was a phone number he could call to get information on other ways to reach her.

He decided to wait until the following day to actually act on such extremes. She would call, he was just being overly paranoid. He ran up to their bedroom to shower and change so that he didn't go grocery shopping smelling. He planned on staying in Pittsburgh until Thursday when he would fly to Minnesota to meet up with his parents and sister.

Very few of the guys were still around town, but he knew Bortz was so he checked with him to see if he'd like to get dinner and maybe see a movie or get a drink after somewhere. He figured he'd had enough time to get to the store and back before he would go meet Rob at BRGR near his Shadyside apartment. All of this was to pass the time and distract Sid of not hearing back from CiCi still.

He wandered through Whole Foods, grabbing very little by way of necessities and checked out without being noticed by the shoppers. He frequented the store enough that the employees learned quickly not to be surprised to see him come through their lines. As he loaded his measly two bags into the backseat of his car, he checked his phone and still had no missed calls.

"Not going to panic, not panicking Sid," he murmured to himself as he plugged his phone into his Bluetooth in his SUV and began to drive back to his house.

The phone began to blare through his speakers startling him when he was just about to pull out of the parking lot. He quickly accepted the call without checking the ID assuming it was CiCi.

"Hello?"

"Hey kiddo! How was the trip?" Trina asked. Sid felt a slight disappointment when he heard his mom speaking.

"It was amazing. She is studying in the gulf right by the Mediterranean Sea. It's this old port city and just an absolute gem. Her only downfall is that the city isn't much for speaking English."

"Aww she doesn't know French? Oh well, and everything is better for you two?"

"So much better. We talked and it was like we never were apart. Which I guess we technically weren't really. Except physically."

"And she knows you have everything set up at the house now?"

"Yeah. She knows."

"Okay."

"Why?"

"Oh I was just wondering. What are you doing now until Thursday?"

"Uh, just getting things closed up for the summer. From there I'll fly out to Cali for a few weeks of training then I'll be home to Canada. I'd like to go back to France for a week or two again before the season starts."

"I haven't the slightest clue why! Alright, I was just checking in to make sure you made it back safely and everything. I will see you Thursday."

"Okay, love you Mom."

"Love you too," Trina said and then Sid heard the sound of his phone disconnecting. He was by this point a block away from the house.

His phone immediately started to ring again. Assuming it was his mom calling because she forgot to tell him something, he answered again.

"Mom! Flight lands at 6."

"Now, hypothetically speaking, how would I be able to get into the house if I don't have a key or an alarm code or something?" He chuckled and relief flooded through his body when he heard CiCi's voice.

"Well, nice of you to finally return my calls missy! I suppose I will have to make sure I am available to pick you up from the airport when you get home. Hoping it is not a day that I have a game."

"Then what?"

"I guess you'll have to sleep outside."

"Damn. But we do have an awesome backyard. I could deal."

"In October it will be cold. You don't have anything but warm weather clothes."

"What if I just told you I tripped an alarm and I hear sirens coming right now." She sounded sheepish.

Sid was confused, but he heard them too and watched as two cruisers zoomed past him in the direction of his house.

"Fuck! I'm right behind them. Just stay on the phone with me."

CiCi didn't respond as he could hear her speaking quickly with an officer. "No, it's my boyfriend's house. I thought I knew the code. But it wasn't right."

"Okay, ma'am we are going to ask you to step over here and wait as we secure the area and get the alarm turned off. Then we will be taking a little drive down to the station."

"What? No, no, no. I'm on the phone with him right now. He is on his way. I swear!"

"Right, that's what they all say."

CiCi spoke quickly into the phone, "This has happened before?"

Sidney couldn't help but laugh loudly at the absurdity of the situation and the thrill that CiCi was actually there and attempting to surprise him. And failing miserably. "Hurry! They think I'm nuts!"

"Pulling in right now." Sid stopped his car right behind the two police cruisers, saw CiCi standing in between them and the two cops coming around the front of the house and towards CiCi. He hopped out, shoulders still shaking with laughter when he made eye contact with his girlfriend and intercepted the cops before they got to CiCi.

"Good afternoon gentlemen!" Sid greeted the two men.

"Mr. Crosby, we caught this woman trying to break into your house. We did not realize you were still in town," the younger of the two men spoke.

"Thanks for catching her."

"She claims she is your girlfriend."

"Mm, does she now?" He crossed his arms and played along with them.

"We can take her away from here. She has several bags though, as though she was going to try to set up shop here."

"Hmm, we can't have that now can we?"

"Sidney--" CiCi hissed in slight anger. Sid turned around and winked at her with a mischievous smile on his face.

"On second thought, she is really pretty. I think I'll let her stay."

"Excuse me sir?" The older cop asked.

"She is my girlfriend. I thought her arrival time was later and she doesn't have a key to get in here. I apologize for the confusion," Sid assured them. As he finished conversing with the cops and watched as they walked back to their cars he turned and opened his arms for CiCi. She broke into a slight jog and threw her arms around his neck as he swung her up into his arms.

"What are you doing here?" He asked excitedly, crushing her against him.

"I couldn't stay there without you!" She explained against his neck, tears prominent in her voice. He blinked back a few tears of his own and smiled in relief.

Notes

It wasn't as dramatic as you all thought. Enjoy! Comments are great!

I feel a little silly calling myself a "new reader" seeing as I started reading this story after it was already finished. But I just binge read this story in about three nights (hooray for only 4:30 hours of sleep the first night!).

I really enjoyed this story and was genuinely sad to see it end. I would also love a sequel if/when you ever found the time for it. Then again, I freely admit to being one of those people who get "post-book" depression at the end of whatever book or fanfic or novel I'm reading, especially late into the wee hours, haha.
