Collide

Chapter Four

CiCi walked through the door to her house and waited for the inquisition from her friends. She knew they were all home. All of their vehicles were parked out front of the house. She looked behind her one last time to see Sidney sitting in the driver side seat watching to make sure she made it inside just fine. He smiled and waved, but didn't pull away.

CiCi walked back outside as he rolled the passenger window down. "What are you doing the rest of the day?" She asked.

"I have nothing planned. What about you?" He leaned across the console so he could hear her just a bit better.

"Want to do nothing together?"

"That would be nice, yeah. Want me to park and come inside?"

"No! Just pull over and I'll go change. I'll be right back." CiCi spun around and scurried back inside to find a more comfortable outfit to wear.

She quickly threw on a pair of navy shorts and a white v-neck t-shirt. She mussed up her hair, found a hair tie and secured it to her wrist for later, threw on her toms, and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth. She and Sid had showered together at his place and she allowed her hair to air dry for once. It lay in messy waves down her back. After she finished in the bathroom she managed to avoid her roommates and rushed back out the front door.

"CiCi!" Someone yelled as she locked the front door and turned towards Sidney's SUV. 'Damn, too easy,' she thought to herself. She turned towards the sound of the voice and immediately felt her stomach drop.

"What do you want Mark?" She asked the approaching figure. The man stopped a few feet short from CiCi.

"I'm meeting Tim here for a round of golf," he explained quickly.

"Well good luck, I haven't seen a soul. All their cars are here which confuses me." She spun on her heel and started towards Sidney again.

"Where are you running off to?" Mark called after her.

"See, that's none of your business anymore. Have fun golfing!"

"CiCi wait, can we talk? Just for a minute." CiCi had reached the passenger door by then and defeated dropped her head and hand from the handle.

"What?" She asked staying in Sidney's line of vision. She crossed her arms defensively and looked back at the man now moving to stand in front of her.

"CiCi, somewhere where we can sit and hash things out."

"Hash what out? There is nothing to hash out. We are no longer together. End of story."

"We were together for ten years!"

"Why are you holding on to the past? Just get over me. I've moved on."

"You...you have?" Mark hesitated.

"Yes she has," Sidney chirped in as he came around the front of his car and draped an arm across CiCi's shoulder. "Now if you'll excuse us, we have plans with a couple of my friends."

CiCi and Sidney didn't wait to hear what Mark's retaliation was to their declaring CiCi had moved on. Instead Sidney opened the passenger door for CiCi and waited until she was in place to close it. He glanced at the guy who was standing a few short feet away from him. Sidney usually took the high road, but he couldn't hold back.

"You must have really fucked up to lose someone so incredible after 10 years." Sid didn't wait for a response. He turned towards his car, climbed in and pulled the idling vehicle away.

******

"I'm so sorry about that," CiCi said after they drove for several uncomfortably quiet minutes.

"No, uh you don't need to apologize."

CiCi stared out the passenger side window not focusing on any one thing as they drove down Carson Street. She didn't know where they were going, and she didn't care. She just knew she needed to be as far away from her house today as possible.

"Can I ask you a question?" Sid asked. He knew that was the guy from the photo in her room, and it may be too soon to be asking but he needed to know.

"Yes," she whispered.

"What happened between you two?"

"You really want to know?"

"What harm could it do? I want to know everything about you." He gave her knee a reassuring squeeze and was comforted when she grasped his hand in hers.

"His name is Mark. My roommate Maria introduced us when we were freshmen in high school. He's the only guy I've ever dated or been with, aside from you, and he never treated me well."

"Did he hurt you?" Sid felt his blood boil. The thought of CiCi being harmed physically or emotionally was not something he could bare.

"Not in the sense you may be thinking. He wasn't as emotionally invested in our relationship as I was. And I was too naive to see it. And when I finally did see it, we were engaged and talking wedding dates. After speaking with my mom about it I decided to call it off and break all ties with him. Unfortunately he still seems to show up from time to time."

"When did things end?" He started to feel a bit sick to his stomach. He hoped she wasn't rushing this or being reckless with him.

"It was over a year ago. But he is still good friends with my roommates' boyfriends so I seem to always freaking run into him! And he always wants to talk. He just won't let the past go." CiCi was getting visibly upset. Her grip on his hand tightened as she spoke.

"Hey, it's okay. Say no more."

"I've felt more passion from you in the past two days than ten years with him. It's weird to think and I don't want me saying that to scare you off."

He knew what she felt and he knew he felt it too. At the red light he drew her close to him and kissed her briefly on the lips. "Where are we going anyways? What do you mean your friends?"

"Want to go to the Pirates game? It doesn't start until 4, and we have a suite so no one will bother us."

"And friends?"

"Oh yeah, James the guy I was with on Friday and our teammate Paul. And then there is Pascal and his crew. It's a family affair really. But we don't have to go, we can do anything you want to do."

"What we will tell them? About us?"

"I didn't really think about that. I don't know." Sid looked at CiCi briefly before focusing back on the road. He didn't realize it, but they were well beyond Carson and driving towards the waterfront unintentionally.

"If you want to go with your friends, I can go home. It's no big deal."

"No! Like you said earlier, I just found you. I want to be with you. I have an idea," he said as he turned into an ice cream shop parking lot to turn around.

"Where are we going now?" CiCi asked as they started back towards her house.

"We are going over to the point. It's reopened now and that way we can enjoy the weather and the relatively quiet downtown area since it is Sunday and all."

"I think that sounds lovely! Are we going to walk there?"

"If that's alright with you."

"Yep! I've got my walking shoes on!" CiCi joked as she flashed Sidney her toms. He chuckled at her and continued down towards the hot metal bridge. They remained relatively quiet along the remainder of their drive and when they pulled back into the garage where Sidney had a parking spot they climbed out and met each other around the back of his car.

Sid opened the hatch to his truck, dug around inside a bag and pulled out a solid black hat. He pulled it on his head and closed the hatch. He turned towards CiCi and stared at her, puzzled. She was watching him intently and in a way that made him want to rethink their afternoon. She leaned up towards him and tucked a few of his curls behind his ears. Her touch sent an electric current through his body and he leaned into her lingering fingers.

"Your hair was sticking out."

"It's getting too long. I need a cut." He reached for her hands and stopped her from moving them from the side of his face. "I don't ever let anyone touch me."

"Then why are you letting me?" She felt the stubble along his jaw and wondered whether he would clean it up before his oral surgery in the morning.

"I like how I feel when you touch me," he said, his voice slightly strained.

"We aren't making it down to the park huh?" CiCi asked as she watched the lust blaze on Sid's face.

"I really want to take you back up to my place, but I don't want you to think I just want to have sex with you." Sid rested his forehead against CiCi's shoulder and wrapped his arms around her waist. She ran her hand across the back of Sid's neck causing a shiver to course through his body.

"Why would I think that if that is what I am secretly hoping we do anyways?" Sid's head popped up quickly, he looked at her and smiled. Without thinking he planted a kiss squarely on her lips with his hands grasping her face softly. She deepened the kiss when she reached up and removed his cap.

He playfully growled at her when she tugged on his hair and he swooped her up in his arms and rushed towards the elevator to his apartment with her giggling along the way.

*********
It was late an the pair were curled around each other dozing in Sid's bed. They hadn't moved from that spot in hours. CiCi felt her limbs were like jello. Sid's skin felt warm against hers as he lay on his stomach, his arm draped protectively across her body. She turned her head and looked at him. His eyes were partially open and when he noticed her look at him he flashed a crooked, toothless smile.

"It will be weird seeing you with teeth," CiCi said.

"We just spent the afternoon sleeping together and that is the first thing that comes to your mind?" Sid laughed.

CiCi blushed, "Well, no. But I do wonder what it will feel like having all your teeth bite down on my nipples." Sid liked the thought of seeing CiCi more than this weekend and that she was in the same mindset as he was. But before he could express that there was a loud pounding on the front door.

"Fuck," Sid moaned and burrowed closer to CiCi.

"Don't answer it," CiCi reasoned.

"No, I'm gonna go tell them to leave. They won't go until I answer anyways," Sid said. He quickly climbed out of bed, threw on his shorts from earlier without his boxer briefs and headed out of the bedroom.

CiCi sat up in bed and heard some light conversation coming from down the hall. She had an idea to help scurry the unwanted company along. Climbing out of bed, she threw on her panties and retrieved Sid's t-shirt from the floor throwing it on as she walked towards the door. She quietly walked down the hall and stopped just short of the entry to the kitchen. She could see Sid's bare, muscular back standing in the door and two heads slightly taller than his on the other side.

"Who's at the door Sidney?" CiCi called sweetly. She saw him tense slightly at the sound of her voice and watched him slowly spin around to see her leaning against the wall in only his shirt. It fell mid-thigh, exposing her bare legs. Her arms were crossed across her chest and she gave him a little smirk.

"Uh, my teammates babe, I'll be right back," he turned back towards the door and could hear him tell them that it wasn't a good time.

"You have a girl in there?!" CiCi heard one voice say.

"Fuck I thought you were celebate cappy!"

"Shut the fuck up guys. And leave before you scare her off. I'd actually like to see her more than today." Sid was trying to push the door closed, but he was outnumbered and the guys were making it difficult to close. The taller of the two looked over Sid's head and caught a glimpse of CiCi.

"Hey wait! I remember her! Hi girl from the bar!" CiCi laughed and realized that was Sid's friend James shouting at her. She waved at him and returned her arm across her body.

"Nealer she has a name for chrissakes! Get out! Don't forget about tomorrow. And by that I mean don't get so drunk you don't wake up to take me." Sid managed to get them away from the door long enough to close and lock it. He turned around to see CiCi was no longer perched against the wall, but Sid's shirt was laying on the floor. He picked up the article of clothing, and glanced around the expansive room. She was nowhere to be found, but her panties were in front of the closed bedroom door. He picked those up, pocketed them, and opened the door to find her sprawled out on the bed waiting for him.

"They seemed nice," CiCi said as she watched Sid strip himself of his shorts and crawl up her body from the foot of the bed. He settled in between her thighs and bit down on her erect nipple while he palmed her freed breast.

"Thanks for giving me a hard on while they were here," he mumbled against her skin. She laughed and ran her hands through his unruly hair.

"Are you gonna fuck me again or are you just going to tease me and complain that I turn you on?" Sid leaned up over her body and stared down at her. She gripped his forearms as he teased her entrance. "Come on Sid!"

"This is for what you just did," Sid chided. He thrusted inside of her swiftly as he knew he couldn't hold out much longer and moved frantically to reach their release. He knew he caught her by surprise, but she looked pleased to have him in her again.

"Don't stop, you feel amazing," CiCi pleaded and Sid captured her lips as he slowed his thrusts to long, languid movements. He knew he would have to stop eventually, they were both running on fumes, but the thought of pulling out and no longer feeling her soft curves in his hands and pressed up against his body wrenched a hole in his heart.

Later, they were fully dressed and lying together on his couch, pretending to be watching a movie on HBO. In actuality they had gotten dressed so that CiCi could go home, but Sid suggested ordering some dinner and watching a movie. Now they were making out like they were teenagers.

"I should go. You have an early day tomorrow," CiCi said while she let Sidney suck on the skin behind her ear.

"Let me drive you. It's dark out there," he mumbled as he dragged his lips up towards hers again.

"Okay," CiCi agreed. Any chance she could get to be with him longer then she would take it. She was relieved that he asked her to come over after work tomorrow. She knew he would be uncomfortable from the procedure he would be going through in the morning, but it warmed her knowing he wanted her to keep him company.

When he pulled up to her house she hesitated in climbing out of the car.

"You okay?" Sid asked.

"Just nervous going in there. I know Caroline wasn't happy earlier this morning and then I hung up on her."

"Want me to come in with you?"

"And say what? Oh this is Sidney Crosby. I just spent the last 48 hours having sex with him in a variety of positions and locations."

"Ha! No, that does sound bad. Especially since we haven't really gone out on an official first date."

"Yeah. I'll be okay. Call me when you get home?" He smile and nodded then leaned across the console to share a kiss. "Until then. I'll bring the milkshakes and orange juice tomorrow." Sid smiled.

"Bye CiCi," Sid spoke softly as she climbed out of the car and walked towards her house. He needed to make some calls. He was certain now more than ever that he didn't want to leave the city for the summer.

I feel a little silly calling myself a "new reader" seeing as I started reading this story after it was already finished. But I just binge read this story in about three nights (hooray for only 4:30 hours of sleep the first night!).

I really enjoyed this story and was genuinely sad to see it end. I would also love a sequel if/when you ever found the time for it. Then again, I freely admit to being one of those people who get "post-book" depression at the end of whatever book or fanfic or novel I'm reading, especially late into the wee hours, haha.
