Beyond the blue line

When I woke up I could hear Sam’s soft breathing. I slowly got up and stretched which made Sam wake up. He groaned a little but smiled, “Hey beautiful.” I smiled, “Hey there.” I leaned down and kissed him. I looked over at my clock and noticed it was 7am. “So what do you want to do today? I mean we both don’t have school and I don’t have practice until 3pm so I’m free.” Sam said as he slowly got up. “Well I gotta get a run in sometime today, but I think that’s all I really have to do.”Hey look outside it’s snowing.” Sam said pointing outside. “Wow that’s beautiful.” I said looking at the white that covered the ground.
I quickly got out of bed and pulled on some PJ bottoms and a sweater and boots so I could get a better look of the snow and Sam did the same. I went to my backyard sliding glass door and headed in my backyard. Everything was covered in snow and the cold rushed over me making me shiver. Sam wrapped his arms around me, “If we get in the right clothes we could have a snowball fight.” I laughed and stepped forward and picked up some snow quickly and threw it at him. “You don’t need to dress properly for a snowball fight!” I said laughing running into my backyard getting in more shots at him.
Sam laughed and got me with some snowballs that he threw. We kept getting closer to each other while throwing the snowballs and laughing. I tackled Sam which made both of us fall into the snow laughing and I kissed him. “This is the best day ever so far.” he said smiling. I kissed him again smiling, “Of course you have me.” We got up and headed back in ‘cause we both were shivering.
Once we got back inside I made some hot cocoa, put on Elf and got a big fleece blanket to warm up with. I cuddled with Sam on the couch while we watched Elf and drank the cocoa. I rested my head against his chest enjoying the moment. We laughed to a lot of the jokes in Elf and mimicked some of the lines, which made both of us laugh. With the blanket wrapped around us it made me feel safe.
When Elf ended we just kept watching christmas movies until about 2PM. “Hey you want to come to practice with me?” Sam asked. I thought about it then said, “Yeah sure, but I probably should get dressed.” I slowly got up and stretched and headed to my room so I could get dressed. I slipped on a pair of jeans and a different sweater and came out. Sam was cuddled up in the blanket still. “We guna head out or are you to comfy?” I said teasingly as I walked over to him. “I’m getting up don’t worry. Good thing I have my gear bag in my car.” Sam said getting up and dropping the blanket. I laughed and we headed to his car.
When we got in the car was freezing cold. “Jeez it’s cold in here.” I said trying to warm myself up. “Here,” Sam said reaching behind him pulling out a wool blanket “this should keep you warm.” I wrapped the blanket around me and relaxed while we made the way to practice.
As we got there I took off the blanket and put it in the back seat, “Thanks for letting me use the blanket.” “No problem.” Sam said. We both got out of the car and headed inside towards the locker room. “Last night was really amazing.” Sam said turning towards me before going in the locker room where the other guys were getting geared up. “So was this morning.” I said as I kissed him. Sam headed in to get geared up with a smile on his face and lipstick on his lips from me.
“So you got some last night huh?” Sids voice came up from behind me. “What?” I asked acting like I didn’t know what she was talking about. “Oh don’t play dumb I know you and Sam did the dance with no pants.” she said shoving my arm a little as we waited for the guys to get geared up. “Oh shut up.” I said blushing. “Holy shit! You actually did!? I was just messing around!” Sid said so loud. I shhed her so the guys wouldn’t hear us, but it was too late when Justin Hickman came out. “We’re all dressed you guys can come in if you want.” Sid and I looked at each other and walked in. The first thing we saw was Danny talking to Sam about something but went quiet when he saw Sid and I come in.
I sat down next to Sam and looked at him in his gear. “Well you look ready for practice.” I said with a sweet smile. “Well that fun snow ball fight really prepared me for getting my gear on.” he said with a grin. I saw some of the guys give us a questioning look when he said this. “Of course. Even though I tackled you.” I said pushing him. “I let you tackle me!” he protested. “Yeah sure that’s why you kissed me.” I said laughing. “Like this?” Sam said grabbing my face and kissing me which got a lot of hollers from the team. “Yeah like that.” I said blushing and breathless.
When the guys headed out my face was still red and Sid came to sit next to me. “Jade, I think you’re in love with Sam.” she said fully serious. “What? No. I’m not in love…” I said nervously remembering the last time I was in love and got hurt. “Come on. I can see it in your eyes. You missy are in love.” Sid said putting her hand on my shoulder then walking to the other side of the locker room to talk to Justin Hickman who had just come in. Out of no where I started singing I won’t say I’m in love from Hercules and Sid and Justin were doing the muses’ part.
I finished the song and Sid was smiling. “Told ya. I told ya you’re in love!” I smiled at this and the thought of Sam kissing me while we laid in the snow. “You know what maybe I am.” I said with a grin.
