Captain Clutch

It was a couple days after the practice and I hadn't seen Sidney since then. I was kind of annoyed with the way he reacted to being late to practice. I didn't want anyone to know, but he could have handled it much better than that. He had called me a couple times and I just made up excuses as to why I couldn't see him. I couldn't blow him off anymore though because tonight the team was going on a two game road trip and I was going with them. We were going to Toronto and Montreal. We were spending a couple days in Montreal between the two games which would give Maxime and I a chance to see our brothers.
I hadn't seen my two oldest brothers in a couple years. I never travelled with Maxime before and we didn't get a chance to go back to Quebec after the seasons ended. Even though I hadn't seen my brothers in a couple years I talked to them on the phone at least once a week.
"Kayla." Maxime said walking into my room.
"Yes?" I said turning to face Maxime. My room was a mess. I had no idea what to pack and there were clothes everywhere.
"What the hell happened here?" He said looking around.
"I don't know what to pack." I said feeling extremely frustrated. He laughed.
"Don't ask me. I'm not a girl." Maxime said holding his hands up.
"Really?" I asked putting on my most shocked face. Maxime shook his head and chuckled.
"Be ready by 6. The plane leaves at 7." He said before he turned and walked out of the room. I glanced over at the clock. I had thirty minutes to finish packing.

I closed the door behind me as I got out of the car. I grabbed my small pink suit case from the back seat. I shut the door before grabbing my suitcase off the ground.
"Let me help you." James said from behind me.
"Thanks." I said handing my suit case over to James. He smiled at me. We started walking toward where Maxime was standing waiting for us.
"James get away from my sister." Maxime said. I started laughing.
"He's just helping me carry my bag." I said looking between James and Maxime.
"James is a player. There is no way I would ever let you be with my sister." Maxime said looking straight at James.
"Maxime I'm not a child." I said getting annoyed.
"James can't get girl." Malkin said coming up behind me. I giggled. Malkin gave me a hug. His arms holding me tight. "You sit me."
I laughed at his broken English.
"Dude really?" James said giving Malkin a fake hurt look.
"Yes." Malkin said linking arms with me and pulling me toward the plane. Maxime shrugged and followed us up the stairs to the plane. I looked back and saw James standing there looking confused. I giggled as we entered the plane. Malkin pulled me halfway down the plane stopping at two empty seats.
"Window?" He asked. I smiled.
"Sure." I said taking a seat by the window. Malkin sat down next to me. I shifted my purse on my lap. I opted for a bigger purse carrying my iPod and a book along with my makeup bag and wallet.
"So you have boyfriend?" Malkin asked me.
"No." I said smiling.
"You pretty girl." Malkin said smiling down at me.
"Thank you." I said. I looked toward the front of the plane just in time to see Sidney starting down the isle. I felt butterflies in my stomach. He got to where we were sitting and looked over at me.
"Hey Kayla." He said a smile forming on his lips.
"Hi." I said blushing and looking down. I had been blowing him off and I wasn't really ready to face him yet.
"Keep move Sid." Malkin said pointing toward the back of the plane. Sidney just chuckled as he moved past us and sat down a couple rows behind us.
"You crush on captain?" Malkin said nudging me in the side winking.
"No." I said blushing.
"Think so." Malkin said putting his arm around my shoulder. I leaned in to him. I really liked Malkin a lot. He was so nice and he was cuddly like a big teddy bear.
"Don't tell anyone." I said looking up at him.
"Secret with me." He said winking again. The flight attendant told us we were about to take off. I sat up in my seat and fastened my belt. Luckily the flight was only an hour and fifteen minutes. I got comfortable and closed my eyes as the plane started moving.
