Changes

Me and Jake arrived at our place and he parked the car. I hopped out quickly meanwhile Jake was slow getting out. He is probably very upset about Jen that he was going to shut down. We managed to get upstairs in a decent time and when we opened the door Morgan was there with some of the guys on the team with a bunch of food.

"Hey Gards. How ya feelin'?" Tyler asked taking a bite out of a chip.

"I heard she dumped you. Don't worry just another chick." Phil said shaking his head.

"She wasn't just another chick okay? She actually meant something to me and thats exactly why I wanted to keep her a secret!" Jake grunted and stormed off into his room.

I sighed,"Phil that's your cue man!" I said giving him a stern look.

Phil stood up and went to go talk to him. I talked to some of the guys and got to know them better. I went and sat down beside Morgan and ate some food while we talked.

"Mo. You haven't told the boys about us yet right?" I whispered.

"No why do you want me to?" He asked me silently.

"I don't know but I think you should tell them alone and let them get to know me first. Maybe drop some hints but don't full out tell them." I smiled at him.

He returned a smile, "Whatever you like." He said grabbing my hand and lightly squeezing it as he got up and went to go talk with McLaren.

I got up and brought my plate into the kitchen and washed some dishes. I thought it would be a good idea to go and check up on Jake to see how he was doing after Phil said that. I knocked on the door and walked in when I heard Jake. He was alone lying down on his bed.

"Hey bud. Phil probably didn't mean what he said." I whispered as I rubbed his shoulder.

"Yeah I know, he just doesn't get how I felt about her. Even he said he wouldn't understand! Despite him agreeing, I still blame myself because I usually say what he said." He said shaking his head at himself.

"Well you can't blame yourself because you didn't do any damage, she did. Plus you're better off without her. Yes I know she was special and important to you and you thought she would be the one. But honey don't go after her because you'll just keep getting hurt and worse each time." I said in a cheerful tone.

"Yeah you're right! I don't need her! I'm going to forget her and go have fun with the guys." He said standing up and smiling at me.

"That's the spirit!" I replied walking out of his room with him.

When we walked out some guys were playing pool. Me and Jake both had smiles on our faces and all the guys around the table were raising their eyebrows at us.

"Aw shut up Bozie at least Jake could get a girl." I said burning him as I walked right past him.

All the guys were laughing at him when I said that so I just laughed along. I went to the fridge and got myself a drink when I saw Morgan talking to Franson so I walked in and started talking to them.

"You boys weren't talking about anything too important right?" I asked taking a sip of my drink.

"Oh no, just hockey. Do you like sports?" Cody asked me.

"Yeah big leaf fan. I'll watch any sport to be honest." I replied smiling.

"Good choice of teams girl!" He laughed.

"Yep if she didn't there would be a slight issue." Morgan joked.

Phil and Tyler were calling me over to play pool so I lefted and went to go play. They were teaching me how to play since I never have before. I'm actually really glad I got to know the guys because if we were together I would want them to well like me. I lost to Phil so since I lost I had to go get him a drink. As I walked to the kitchen I couldn't help but overhear Morgan and Nazem talking and I heard my name so I kept an ear out.

"So man what's the deal?" Naz said to Morgan.

"Deal with what?" Morgan asked.

"Mackenzie. She lives here, you're single plus she's a pretty awesome girl. I would go for it dude. Is she with anybody?" Naz blabbered.

"Yeah she's single. But I don't know man." He said shaking his head.

"Go for it dude! She won't say no, I guarantee it." Nazem stated.

"Not going to lie I was thinking about it. There is something between us and I think she likes me too." Morgan admitted to him.

"No way! Congrats man! You guys would be a good couple. She would be the more good looking one though." Naz chirped to Morgan.

"Yeah I think so too." Morgan agreed as they both laughed.

That was all I heard in the time I was getting Phil's drink. I brought it back to him and told him I was going to go talk to some of the guys. I walked up to Kadri and Rielly and I started talking to them.

"Hey Mack, are you with anybody by any chance?" Naz asked.

"Well I'm flattered Nazem thank you, but I have someone in mind." I laughed as they both laughed along.

"I don't know just wondering. A beautiful girl like you should never be single." Nazem said with a smirk on his face.

I blushed, "Thanks Kadri. That was nice of you." I smiled at him.

"Yes Naz, nice of you to hit on my roommate." Morgan said rolling his eyes.

"Okay sorry. I'll leave you two alone then." He winked at him then walked away leaving us alone.

Me and Mo just talked for a bit until some of the guys decided to leave and before we knew it the whole first line were the only three there. At this point we were all just sitting on the couch telling funny stories about each other.

"This one time in the locker room we just won the game and Phil was being an idiot and dancing in the centre of the room and during his dance he fell and wiped out in front of everyone." Bozak laughed.

"Aw c'mon man I told everyone that stays in the locker room." Kess growled.

"A little too late man." Morgan snickered.

"What are you laughing at? Remember that time you were fooling around trying to hid Dion's equipment and when he came out he literally caught you hiding it?" Jake giggled.

"Well in my defense you were my look out and I don't think you were a very good one." Morgan said defensively.

"Oh gosh you guys have the most weirdest stories." I said still continuing to laugh.

"We're going to head out guys it's getting kind of late." Tyler said standing up hitting Phil's leg and signaling James.

"Okay don't forget guys we are going to have a small shaker at our place this weekend coming up since we don't play Saturday or Sunday for Bozie's birthday since we play on his actual day. Let me know if you three can make it alright?" Phil said grabbing his jacket and slipping his shoes on.

I looked over at Morgan and he nodded, "I believe we're free." I smiled.

"I'll let you know more closer to the day." Tyler said waving as him, James and Phil all left.

Jake went to his room when they went so I then walked up to Morgan and hugged him, "We doing anything or can we go? I think it would be a good opportunity to let the boys know about us." I said as he returned the hug.

"Yeah I have nothing planned. I don't think Jake knows but maybe we can let him know before the party just because in case he sees us around here." Morgan raised an eyebrow.

I nodded, "Okay sounds about right just when do we tell him?" I asked still in the hug.

"No need." Jake said walking into the room, "But please keep it at least PG rated when I'm around. Thanks."

We both laughed as I rolled my eyes at Jake. I'm honestly really glad he's okay with it.
