The Maze To Your Heart

Chapter Six: Second Period.

Today was the day, I really dreaded the last day of August. I felt that I was finally getting through to her that I wasn't the same childish douchebag I was when we were growing up together.

"Well it's been an adventure hasn't it?" I said as she grinned.

"Yes it has," she sighed. " I'm going to miss you, you know that right?" She asked.

"Of course, but just know that you're still my number one fan." I whipped a witty smirk earning a little shove from Mavel.

"I'm no ones cheerleader," She retorted.

"I better get on my flight, don't want them to leave me." I joked slightly.

"Don't forget about me," She warned as she brought me into a soft-- warm cozy hug. I didn't want to let go.

"I could never forget about you. You gave me so much to remember." I told her.

Her intense green eyes stared into mine, she smiled that classic Mavel Maze smile. Her lightly shaded pink cheeks were fighting from blushing.

"Kris, I'll see you in a month, okay?" She said as she let go of me. I just gave her a peck on the cheek before walking off.

"Kris you said you were going to cut the mop off of your head!" She said, slightly annoyed. She had her brown curly like hair down caressing her face. I noticed her wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs sweatshirt. She was the biggest Leafs fan since I could remember.

"And you said that you would get rid of everything Toronto Maple Leafs!" I jokingly argued back, through the Skype Video Messenger.

She giggled, "I never said that you liar."

"It doesn't hurt to try, right?" I said shrugging it off.

"I guess it really doesn't. So, I have one more show this week. I also have the cover of Womens Fitness to do and next week I have to finish the commercial with CCM in Washington. You won't believe who I get to work with!" She exclaimed rather happily. In my mind, I thought it was going to be someone from the Capitals.

"I'm not sure, tell me." I said with a smile.

"Alexander Ovechkin, he doesn't really know that though. I was just a last minute recruit. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun." She told me with her dashing smile.

"Ovechkin, huh?" I said kind of skeptical. I guess you could say I wasn't necessarily a fan of him. He was one of my teams rivals.

"Kristopher, he's just my friend. Anyways remember, we're just friends for now. Until we figure out what we want to be." She said reminding me about our deal. I disliked the deal though, it was stupid. I wanted her to be mine, and only mine already.

"We both know that we want to be with each other again. Unless this is just an easier way to tell me that you don't want to be with me." I knew I shouldn't have pushed this minor argument, because soon it would turn into much more. I just felt the need to get my point across. I didn't want to wait forever for someone who may not even love me.

She let out a sigh in annoyance. "Kris, don't be like this. You know I love you and I want to be with you." She said as she ran her fingers through her hair. Her messy hair ruffled and it still looked like sweet perfection.

I just bit my lip a little before answering. I hated being so far away from her. "I'm sorry, Mavie." I cooed childishy.

She was smiled downwards; she had always been self concious. I don't even know why. She was arguably the best female hockey player in her time. She was also one of the most beautiful girls that anyone had ever laid eyes on.

"You played really good tonight." She told me, referring to the game against the Panthers.

"Please tell me you seen the highstick that old man Parros gave me. I mean that referee was such a homer." I argued trying to prove a point.

"I didn't see a thing," She joked. "No for real, I saw it and I saw the blood. Hope you're alright." She told me.

"I'm fine, I was kind of upset at the time. It doesn't really matter now." I laughed as she smiled happily. She looked so content whenever we talked.

"I wish you were here."

I smiled, "Why do you do this to me?"

"Do what to you?" She laughed softly as she put some of her hair behind her ears.

"Say stuff that will get me going, or make me feel guilty. Mavel, you don't even know how much I care about you. I'd do anything for you." I meant every word of what I said. I didn't care if people thought of me as a softy. I'm in love and always have been for the last ten years.

"You would do everything to me?" She said with a straight face and I just bursted into a laughing fit. I soon found us both recovering from a hysterical laughing fit.

"You're crazy." I said.

"I know that. I better get going, I have to go to Toronto tomorrow and then New York. I won't be able to catch the games nor Skype with you, sorry. I will see you after Washington though." She said as she informed me in her schedule.

"Okay, that's fine. I love you, Mavel." I said in a baby voice.

"You're a loser. Now goodbye." She said one last time. I saw the ended call alert pop up on my screen, indicating that she had hung up.

I'm head over heels for her.

I waited as I tapped my foot along the airport floor. I've been waiting for almost a half hour in the hectic airport. I knew this place like the back of my hand. This is where the Penguins flew out of. Since being here I had quite a few people come up and ask for autographs or pictures. I loved the fans. I had no problem being bothered by them.

I then seen a pretty brunette looking clueless as ever. She looked around as people flooded out of her entrance. She had been wearing skinny jeans and a WHL Kelowna Rockets sweatshirt. I assumed she was looking for me, so I went to go see her.

"Mavel." I said and her attention was towards me.

"Oh, there you are. I couldn't see that well. I don't have my contacts in right now." She exclaimed as she adjusted the strap on her duffle bag. She was wheeling a suitcase, had a duffle bag on her shoulder and had a satchel type of purse.

"Here let me take that," I said as I took her duffle bag from her and wow, was it ever heavy. I don't even want to know what she was carrying in it.

We walked out of the chaotic building and into the parking lot. I had kind of parked secludely. It was farther, but I didn't mind walking.

She stopped and looked at me causing me to stop in my tracks as well. "Aren't you supposed to kiss me right now? I mean friends kiss, don't they?" She said with the sexiest grin.

"Come here, babe." I said as she strutted up to me and I made out with her in the middle of a parking lot. I didn't even care if anyone saw. I was living in the moment, and was that moment amazing. She hard her fingers in my hair and I had my hands on her hips. She had dropped both of her bags and I did the same with her duffle bag. We soon broke the kiss, but kept our faces together. I could feel her hot breath on my face as she looked up towards me.

"You're such a turn on." I told her as she chuckled.

"I hope that's a good thing." She implied as she picked up her bags.

"It's an amazing thing. That's my car up there." I said while pointing.

"Fancy, isn't it?" She joked.

"Just a little."

Mavel's POV

I had slept in Kristopher's bed and he slept in the other room. I had convinced him letting him know that we weren't officially together-- yet. I wanted to be together, but who knew how long we would last? I mean look what happened last time. I do believe that the past is the past, but I'm scared of the path. The path was so horrible and it hurt. So many tears, so much heartbreak.

I went into his expensive kitchen to find a letter on the island. I took a seat on one of the stools next to the island as I read his hand written note.

Goodmorning beautiful. I went to practice, Marc picked me up. I was going to wake you up and tell you but you looked like you were having a good sleep so I decided not to. I'll probably get a ride back from someone. Practice ends at 1 so i'll be home a while after 1. Keys are on the table by the door if you need to borrow my car. - Kris

I looked at his clock in the kitchen and it read 11:36. I thought I could go pick him up instead. It's been a while since I've seen Sidney and Evgeni. I thought I could pay him a visit. My other excuse was that I didn't want to sit around here for nearly two hours.

Time to get ready.

Yeah, that is a lot. You could just start something new with this one! That would be good, I think :) Ummm..... Would Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle be too cliche of my to say? Haha and for the girls name.... I like Evelyn!

I know you probably don't want to do both, but I really liked this story! Hopefully you can get back to it eventually!
I think you should do it on the Oilers. There are so many fics on the Pens, and not many on the Oilers! :)
Can't wait to read it!
