Chapter Forty Four

-Allie-

I could feel the anger and tension in the room, I was surprised that Tyler didn't hate me now, because I knew that the rest of the team did. The only reason that they were still here, was to see if Julie was all right, she had been in the bathroom with Doc and Sidney for almost an hour, and her screams of pain were probably going to haunt me in my sleep. I didn't know what they did to her, but I knew it wasn't good.

"What does 'viol' mean?" I asked Tyler and he shook his head not knowing.

"Rape," I heard and looked up to see that Kris Letang had said it without even looking up from glaring at the ground.

"Oh," I was all I could get out and feeling the guilt weigh on my shoulders, '...This is all my fault...'

I knew that they were glaring at me without even looking up, I could just feel it, and it was getting to be too much. I stood up from Tyler's lap and walked out of the room heading towards the kitchen, and walking into the backyard to get some air.

"Allie."

"No Tyler! Sidney's right, this is all my fault! I did something stupid!" I yelled and then looked at him, "Julie could have died because of my mistake!"

"Allie-"

"Why are you not angry with me, Ty? Aren't you pissed like your teammates? Don't you understand that if you lose against this game, then you don't go into the playoffs?!" I yelled and he sighed and walked over towards me, "I screwed everyone," I whispered and he wrapped his arms around me and I cried on his shoulder.

-Marc-

"How can he be ok with this?" Brooks Orpid growled and then looked at the other guys, "He's acting like what she did is all right."

"Calm down man," I said and Brooks shoved me off.

"No way! If was lose against the Islanders, the easiest team to beat," he growled and I sighed and then tried to calm him down.

"We're not going to move on to the playoffs," Pascal Dupuis finished and the rest of the team nodded their heads, "But do we want to put our families at risk?"

"It's going to be an embarrassment if we lose against them," Coach said as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"What should we do, Coach?" Matt asked and Coach looked at them.

"We'll figure something out," Coach said and I sighed.

"If we win the game, they're come after us, if we lose the game, will they leave us alone?" I asked myself, knowing that the guys heard me.

"Geno, you said that you knew the guy," I heard Kris say.

"Just of him," Geno said and we looked at him, "I don't know, he mob man, no trust them."

"Figures, they'll probably come after us anyways," Kunitz said and then sighed.

"They won't come after you, they need to make money off of you."

I turned around and saw that Doc had walked out and saw the blood on his hands, Julie's blood, "Doc, is she-"

"The girl will be fine, her leg will be fine," he said and I nodded my head, "She wants you to win the game."

"What?" I heard and looked at Doc to see him nodded his head.

"Brave girl," he said and I smirked.

'...Sid's probably loving this...' I thought and looked over towards Vero, '...But do we want to risk our families...'

"I stitched her leg up," Doc said and took a step forward, "Got the bullet out too," he said and then held the bullet up between his fingers, "Tough little bugger."

-Sidney-

"Julie, you have to listen to Doc," I said as I laid Julie back down.

"No, I want to see if she's all right," Julie said as I tried to get her to lay down on the bed.

"I'll bring her up here," I sighed and she looked at me and nodded her head, "Please, you need to stay off you leg."

"Fine," she huffed and I smiled and then leaned down and pressed my lips against hers.

"You had me scared today."

"Always an adventure with me," she joked, but I found no humor with it, "Come on Sid, I'm fine."

"You're not fine," I said as I sat down on the bed, "I can't believe that you're holding up the way you are," she stared at me and then grabbed my hands and held them, "Where's you scared?"

"Terrified," she whispered and I moved closer to her and held her face.

"I'm here," I said and she looked at me and I saw it, she was going to cry.

"Sid, they-"

"I know," I said, knowing what she was going to say and saving her from having to say it, "I'm gunna kill them for it too."

She leaned up and wrapped her arms around my neck and she started to cry into my shoulder. I rubbed her back and then kissed her check. There was a knock at the door, and I broke apart to see that Marc and some of the guys were walking in.

"How are you feeling, Julie?" Marc asked and I looked back towards her to see her wiping her tears and then looking towards Marc.

"I'll be all right," she said and then gasped, "Where's Josh?!"

"Calm down!" I said and then was at her side, "I had Millie and Harold take the boys out of state and danger."

Julie relaxed and then nodded her head towards me, "As long as they're safe."

"They are," I said and then kissed her head.

The team crowded into my room and I watched as Vero climbed up onto the bed and sat next to Julie and held her hand.

"Where's Allie?" Julie asked and I sighed and then felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Calm down, man," Marc said and I glared at the ground

"Tyler is calming Allie down," Vero said and Julie nodded her head.

'...What the hell does she need to be calmed down about?...' I thought and then looked at Julie to see that some of the guys were teasing her war wound, trying to lift her spirit, because she was pretty shaken up.

After a while, I could tell that Julie was getting tired and told everyone that it was going to be a night. Once I walked everyone out of the house, I noticed that Allie and Tyler were nowhere to be found, and they never came up to see Julie. I shook my head angrily and then locked up the house and then walked back up the stairs to my room to see that Julie was starting to fall asleep, but she was still sitting up and looking at me.

"Long day," I said tiredly and she nodded her head.

I took my shirt off and my pants and walked over towards the bed and laid down in my boxers. I had a pillow under Julie's leg, because she wasn't allowed to move it, so that also meant that she had to sleep on her back, something she didn't like to do.

"Julie."

"I don't want to talk about it anymore," she muttered and I sighed and pushed my body against her and grabbed her hand and kissed it.

"All right, you don't have to," I said and then kissed her cheek, "But I'm here if you want to talk."

I laid down on my side and looked at her, I saw her chest bounce up and down, she was crying, "Twice now," she mutter and I leaned up and rested on my elbow.

"What?"

"Twice now I was raped," she whispered and my heart broke and I wrapped my arms around her.

"There's not going to be a third time, I can promise you that," I said and leaned over her and pressed my lips to hers, "Do you hear me?"

Julie looked at me and slightly nodded her head, "I hear you," she breathed.

"Not again."
