Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby) 047:

Chapter Forty Seven

-Julie-

"Are we there yet?" Josh asked from the backseat and I smirked and shook my head.

"Not yet, buddy, couple more hours," Sidney said and I looked over towards him and then smiled, "You're gunna like it in Halifax, it's a completely different environment from Pittsburgh."

"Really?"

"It's quiet," he said and I nodded my head.

"We need quiet," I said and he laughed and then reached over and grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine.

It's been about a month since everything happened, Josh was on break and since Sidney's season had ended, we were going to go to his home in Nova Scotia for the summer.

Allie had shown up two weeks ago and told us that she was taking care of some things, that was the reason why she was missing, but wouldn't tell us what. I knew that Sidney was still mad at her, and to be honest, I was a little too, not for the whole incident, but for disappearing and having us worry for so long. She was going to be in charge of the shop, helping Mildred around the place.

Josh was sad that he had to leave Conner for almost three months, but I reassured him that Conner would be there when we got back, and that he could even talk to Conner on the phone. After that, Josh seemed to be doing all right.

Sasha was getting so big, Josh couldn't even pick her up because she was about three months old. She was definitely an energetic dog. I sometimes had a hard time keeping up with her, and had to separate her from Bow, Mildred's collie, because all Sasha wanted to do was play, but Bow didn't.

-Sidney-

I smiled when I looked into the review mirror and saw that Josh was asleep in the backseat with Sasha lying on his lap. I looked over towards Julie and saw that her head was leaning against the window and she was asleep too.

I sighed in relief as I pulled into the driveway of my Halifax home. I hated having to wake them up, but we were here, and I wanted to get them inside. I shook Julie's knee and then smiled towards her, "We're here."

"All right," she muttered and then nodded her head and unbuckled herself.

We got out of the car and walked over towards the door and unlocked it and left it open. I turned around to head back to the car and saw that Julie was trying to pick up Josh, I smirked and then placed my hand on her shoulder, "I got him," I said and she nodded her head and grabbed Sasha.

I picked Josh up and walked into my house and placed him on the couch, while I went back outside to help Julie bring the bags in.

"You're place is beautiful," Julie said as she walked over towards me and wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Thanks, I like this house more than my Pittsburgh one," I said and she nodded her head and I heard her sigh, "You all right?"

"I want to stop hiding, stop running," she muttered and I looked down towards her and placed my fingers under her chin and pushed her face up and pressed my lips against hers.

"We'll figure something out," I breathed against her forehead and she looked up at me.

"Sid, how are you still wanting to be with me? I've caused so much-"

"I love you," I spoke and she looked at me shocked.

"Sid-"

"I do, Julie! I love you," I told her and then saw the tears start to well up in her eyes.

"Every time someone tells me that, friends or family, they get hurt," she said and then placed her hands on my chest, "Sid, I couldn't take it if you got hurt, because of me."

I placed my hand on her cheek and then leaned down and pressed my lips against hers and then wrapped my arm around her waist. I pulled her as close as I could get her to me and then leaned my forehead against hers, "I'm not going anywhere, Julie. You're not scaring me off."

She looked up at me and then gave me a small smile, "I love you too."

I smiled brightly and then wrapped my arms around her neck and laid my head on top of hers, "It's late, we should probably get some sleep."

"You need it more than me," Julie said and I smirked, "You drove the whole way!"

"I know, but only because you didn't know where to go," I said and she nodded her head, "We can bring the luggage up tomorrow, I'm tired."

"All right, what about Josh?" Julie asked and then walked over towards him on the couch.

"Leave him, he looks comfy," I said and she nodded her head and then took my hand when I held it out. We walked up the stairs and I headed down the hallway, "I'll give you a tour of the place tomorrow," I said and I looked back to see her nod her head.

I walked her into my room and then heard her laugh and then saw her run and jump on my large bed. I smirked and then walked over towards her and laughed on how she was suddenly acting like a child, bouncing up and down on the bed.

"This is the biggest bed I've ever seen!" she said and I smirked and then wrapped my arms around her and threw her onto her back on the bed. She giggled as I climbed on top of her and kissed her neck.

"Where'd all this energy come from?" I asked as I leaned up and smiled down at her.

"I don't know, but it's gone again," she moaned and I saw the tired come back into her eyes, "It was like a five second energy."

I laughed and then sat up and reached back to pull my shirt off and then threw it onto the ground. Her hands were on my sides and then she sat up and wrapped her arms around my chest. I stood up and she sat on the edge of the bed, and I smiled when I saw that she was fighting to keep her eyes opened.

"Go to bed, Julie, I'll be there in a second," I said as I walked over towards my dresser and pulled out some pajama pants.

"All right," she said and I heard her get up from the bed and she took her shirt off to reveal a tank top.

I changed into the plain black pajama pants and walked over towards her and pulled at her jeans. She laughed and then placed her hands on my bare chest. I kissed her cheek and then walked over towards the bed, I was really tired and was running definitely on empty.

-Julie-

I woke up the next morning to find that it was about nine and I was unusually wide awake. I looked to my side and saw that Sidney was still sleeping. I smiled and then sat up, softly moving his arm from my waist and then climbing out of bed. I threw my jeans back on and then walked down the stairs to see that Josh was still asleep as well. I smiled and then whistled for Sasha and she ran over towards me.

"Let's go out," I said and then walked to the front door and grabbed her leash.

I took Sasha out to do her business and then walked inside and over towards Josh, I smiled when I saw that he was knocked out and laughed when you heard him snoring too.

I walked into the kitchen and looked around, '...Nice and big...' I thought as I walked over towards the fridge and opened it, '...I'm shocked to see that there's food in here...' I thought as looked at the clock and figured I would make some breakfast.

I loved to cook, and I had a habit sometimes of making too much food, but luckily I had a hungry athlete in the house, so he would eat it all, even if he was stuffed. So when Sidney walked downstairs, looking like a zombie, but then saw the food and was instantly awake, I had made three cheese, bacon and onion omelets, and then slapped them on a plate next to some homemade home fries, I think I made this man fall even more in love with me.

"It's not a hockey diet, but I'm starving," Sidney said as he sat at the counter and dug in, "Josh up?" he asked as he stuck some of the omelet in his mouth, "So good!"

I laughed and then placed my hand on his shoulder and kissed his check, "No, I'm going to wake him up now."

"All right," Sidney said and I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room to see that Josh was just waking up.

"Hi, baby," I said as I leaned down and rubbed his face.

"I'm hungry," he whined tiredly and I smiled and kissed his head.

"I have breakfast all ready for you," I said and he nodded his head and then held out his arms, "Josh, you're too heavy for me to carry."

"Hug," was all he said and I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, but then felt that he was a little warm.

"You feeling all right, buddy?" I asked and he looked at me and nodded his head.

"Just tired," he said and I nodded my head and then sat him up.

"Come on, time for breakfast," I said and watched as he walked into the kitchen and sat next to Sidney to eat his breakfast.
