Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby) 050:

Chapter Fifty

-Julie-

After being in Halifax, Nova Scotia for over a month, Sidney was finding it to be boring, and quite frankly, Josh and I did too. It was the end of June and Sidney had gotten a call from some of his teammate saying that they were going to be going on a cruise and asked if we wanted to go with them. I declined at first, afraid to ask the price of this, but Sidney waved me off and said he would handle. We had a little debate about money that night, but someone how I lost that argument and ended up going to bed that night a little upset. I soon gave up and found myself becoming excited for this trip.

Josh was worried that he was going to be bored on the trip, but Sidney quickly informed him that the guys were bringing their families with them, and they had their own kids that were his age. We boarded the giant cruise ship and went to our room. Sidney threw our bags onto the bed and I looked around the giant room to see that it looked like a hotel room; there was even a balcony that looked out into the sea.

“It’s beautiful!” I said as I felt Sidney wrap his arms around me and kissed my shoulder.

“I want you to have fun on this trip,” Sidney said and I turned around in his arms and placed my hands on his chest.

“I will,” I said and smiled and then pressed my lips against his, “Thank you.”

“Anything,” he smiled and then we heard Josh running over towards us.

“Where am I sleeping?” he asked seeing that there was only one king size bed.

“You, little man,” Sidney said and then bent down to pick him up, “are staying in the kids’ room.”

“Kids’ room?” he asked as he laughed when Sidney threw him over his shoulder.

“Right across the hall,” he said and I felt a little worried about not having Josh in the room with me.

“I don’t know, Sidney,” I said and then watched as he opened the door across the room and saw that there were five little kids running around, “Wow.”

“They’re a handful,” I heard from behind me and then saw Sidney’s teammate Matt Cooke and his wife standing behind me.

“They’re so cute,” I cooed and he smiled.

“Thanks, I’d like to take all the credit, but she helped a little,” he teased his wife and I laughed.

“Sidney said that you might be worried about leaving Josh with the others,” Matt’s wife, Michelle, stated and I nodded my head, “Not to worry, my daughter Gabby and her friend, Jess are in charge of watching the kids.”

“Um,” I choked, not knowing what to say.

“Gabby and her friend are eighteen,” Matt informed and I felt better and smiled towards him, “Adam’s son is in here, my kids, and two of Dupuis’.”

“Oh, I didn’t realize that Pascal had kids,” I muttered.

“He has four,” Matt said and then laughed when he saw my eyes widened.

“Mommy! Mommy!” I heard and turned around to see Josh running over to me. I bent down and looked at him to see that he was smiling, “Is this the room that I’m staying in?”

“I uh, well-“

“Please Mommy! Jackson, Kody and Rhys said that I can play with their ninjago warriors with them!” he begged and I laughed a little because I had no clue what he was talking about.

“Glad to see that you made some friends,” I stated and Josh smiled and nodded his head, “Go have some fun.”

“Yay!” he shouted and then ran over towards the three boys that looked to be his age.

“That looks like its gunna be trouble,” I stated as I saw the four boys crowd around each other.

“Got that right,” Sidney said as he came up to us and wrapped his arm around my waist, “It’ll be all right.”

“I’m sure it will be, just make sure that they don’t go out onto the balcony,” I said and he nodded his head.

“It lock’s from the top, and I made sure that it was locked,” Matt stated and I smiled over towards him.

“Thank you.”

“We don’t want anyone going overboard,” Pascal stated as he appeared behind Matt, “Hi Julie.”

“Hi,” I smiled and then waved.

“Where are my two troublemakers?” Pascal asked as he snuck in and looked to see that his oldest daughter, Maeva was playing with Matt’s daughter, Reece, “Looks like Gabby and her friend are gunna have a fun time with those four,” he said as he patted Matt’s shoulder and laughed when he saw his son, Kody, playing with Craig Adams’ son, Rhys, Matt’s son, Jackson and my son, wrestling together.

“This’ll be fun,” Sidney said as he saw that I had a worried look on my face, “You worry too much.”

The room that we were in now had two sets of bunk beds where the four boys, Kody, Jackson, Rhys and Josh, were going to stay in, while there was an attached bedroom where the four girls, Gabby and Jess, the babysitters, with Reece and Maeva. Once all the kids were settled, Sidney and I walked back towards our room across the hall and found out that our room was in-between Pascal’s and Matt’s. Marc and his wife Vero were down the hall, I had yet to see them, but Sidney said that their flight in was a rough one, so they were sleeping it off. Geno and James were bunking in a room next to Marc’s, and then Kris Letang with his girlfriend, Catherine, with their baby, Alex were going to be next to Geno and James. I knew there were other players that were going to be on this trip, but I didn’t know who else.

I couldn’t help myself, standing on the balcony, staring out at the view, it was amazing. I smiled and leaned back against Sidney when I felt his arms around my waist and he laid his chin on my shoulder.

“How are you?” he asked and I turned around and smiled towards him.

“I’m great.”

“Good, you’re not worried about Josh?”

“Of course I am, but, I think he’ll be all right with that girl.”

“Gabby?” Sidney asked and I nodded my head.

“Matt said that she was eighteen,” I said and Sidney nodded his head, knowing where I was going with this.

“She was his wife’s daughter from a previous relationship, Cooke adopted her,” Sidney said and I nodded my head.

“I understand now,” I said and then laid my head on Sidney’s chest.

-Sidney-

We had set sail last night, and now, we were somewhere at sea, I wasn’t sure, and I didn’t really care, I was on vacation for ten days with some of my closest friends and my beautiful girlfriend and her son. I knew we were going to be stopping at some islands, but I couldn’t remember which ones.

Yesterday was mostly spent getting everyone situated because we had the top half floor all to ourselves. Once everyone was unpacked and organized into their rooms, we all had dinner together, and I was happy to see that Julie was having a good time, and seeing that Josh was making fast friends with some of my teammates’ sons.

I woke up felling Julie’s back against my chest and feeling her hair in my face. I felt her shift in her sleep and peeked my eye open to see that she was now facing me. Her hand was on my cheek and I smiled towards her and opened my eyes.

“You’re supposed to be sleep,” she laughed and I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers.

“I was asleep,” I said and she smirked and then slid her head down my neck and onto my shoulder.

“I’m sure you were,” she said and then moved onto her stomach and placed my hand on her back, and pulled her shirt down, but it was sliding up her back, “Thanks,” Julie muttered and I nodded my head.

“It’s still dark out,” I muttered while looking out the balcony door.

“What time is it?” Julie asked and I shrugged my shoulders, only having her laugh at me and tuck her arms under the pillow.

“Are you still tired?” I asked and she nodded her head, “Then go back to sleep.”

“I don’t want to,” she whined and I smirked and leaned in and pressed my lips against hers.

I flipped Julie over and then hovered over her and pinned her arms next to her head and smirked when she laughed. I bent down and pressed my lips against hers and then laced my fingers with hers. I groaned against her neck when I heard Julie breathe my name and then feel her grip on my fingers tighten.

Julie jumped and yelped a little when we heard a loud crack of thunder outside and I turned around to look out of the balcony door to see that it was raining.

‘…It didn’t look like it was going to rain a few minutes ago…’ I though as I looked down at Julie, “Afraid of a little thunder?” I asked and she shook her head.

“Just caught me by surprise,” she said as she sat up and leaned against the headboard, “I didn’t know it was supposed to rain.”

“I didn’t either,” I sighed as I got out of the bed and walked over towards the balcony door.

“Clock says that it’s almost seven,” Julie said and I looked back towards her to see her laying back down, “It’s really coming down at there.”

“Yeah, looks like our first day is gunna be spent stuck indoors.”

“Well come back to bed, we’ll get at least two or three more hours of sleep and then decide what to do,” Julie said and I nodded my head and headed back to bed.
