Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby)

Rescue Me (Sidney Crosby) 080:

Chapter Eighty

-Sidney-

"It's nice," Julie said plainly as she looked around the house, "Big, but nice."

"The security people are coming later on, we'll get furniture after the wedding and everything, no point worrying about it now," I said and looked at Julie to see her staring into the backyard, "Jewels," I muttered as I walked over towards her and placed my arms around her neck and leaned her back against my chest, "It's going to be all right."

"I'm scared," she said and I kissed her cheek and felt her hands on my arms, "Just when I think I'm safe, when I finally let my guard down-"

"I'm not gunna let them get to you or Josh," I breathed against her ear, "You're not going to be hurt."

"Sid," she turned in my arms and placed her hands on my chest, "Someone's going to get hurt if you keep trying to be superman."

"No one's going to get hurt," I grabbed her face and looked her dead in the eyes, "I'm not going to let anything happen to you, Josh, the guys- No one!"

I pressed my lips onto hers and moved my hands down to her waist, feeling a hand on my neck as the other snuck into my hair.

It's been about four days since Boris came back into the picture, Julie, Josh and I have been staying with Marc and Vero, living in their guest bedroom. I found and bought a house this morning, it was probably a little bigger than I wanted, I mostly got it because of the big wall around the house and then gate that you needed a code to get in. Julie was scared, I was here to bring security.

There were less than three weeks until the wedding, the season was over for the Penguins, we'd lost in the third round. I admitted, my head wasn't in the game, with Conner, the wedding and then Boris, my head was nowhere near the game. Julie knew that, she blamed herself, Vero told me everything.

I pulled away from Julie and then took her hand, wanting to show her the rest of the four bedrooms, two and half bath, three floors home. I showed her all of the first floor, kitchen, living room, dining room, office and half bathroom just off of the kitchen. A door in the kitchen that led to the basement where there was enough room to put some exercise equipment and then a particle game room. Heading up the stairs to the first floor of bedrooms, there were two guest bedrooms and then Josh's room, a bathroom in-between the two guest bedrooms. We took her hand and walked her up the last set of stairs, to the master bedroom; it was the whole length of the huge house.

I smiled as she stared with awe at the room; I was even impressed at how big it was. Julie giggled and then twirled around the room; I smiled because it was the first time in four days that she showed any happy emotion. There was a huge walk-in closet that was problem the size of her old apartment, the bathroom that had a Jacuzzi tub that could fit three people, a separate shower that I could see a lot of naughty things happening with between Julie and me. The rest was just open space; there was a door to a large balcony that looked over the backyard. The whole land was fenced in with tall and thick brick walls; no one was getting in here without someone knowing. I was hoping that this would make Julie feel somewhat safe.

"A home fit for a king and his future queen," I smiled as I walked over towards Julie who was looking out the window, into the front of the house.

"It's beautiful, Sid," she breathed and I smirked as I kissed her cheek.

"Pascal's house is down the street and Cooke's is four or five blocks away," I said and Julie smiled, "Josh's friends are close, part of the reason why I chose this house."

"What are the other reasons?"

"The wall, the gate, the security," I said and she nodded her head, "I want you to not only be safe, Jewels, but I want you to feel it too. I want you to feel so safe that when you're alone, you don't have to be scared."

"Thank you," she said and I nodded my head and pressed my lips against hers.

"Anything for my future Mrs. Crosby."

"Do you want to do something?" she asked with a smirk on her face and as she ran her hands down my chest.

"Like what?" I asked, trying to hold back a groan as her hands lowered.

"Want to break this room in?" she asked and I smirked and raised my eyebrows, answering her question by wrapping my arms around her and pressing my lips onto hers, guiding her body to the carpeted floor and climbing on top of her.

-Julie-

There was no color, no furniture, no appliances in that house, it was a beautiful home, but it didn't feel like a home. I know Sidney said that we weren't going to do anything with it until we came back from the honeymoon, but I couldn't help myself, I needed something to do to occupy my thoughts. I was tired of thinking about the bad things that happened in my life, so I decided to take Vero's hand and drag her away from Marc, literally. We went to the nearest hardware store and started to look at designs.

When Sidney and I had gotten back from the house, I had gone into our room and drew out the layout of the house, using that as my guide on how I was going to decorate it. As we went from section to section, planning what we possibly might do to the rooms, making sure to take pictures and examples to bring back and show to Sidney.

We decided that shopping for almost six hours was long enough and decided that we were going to go home after Sidney and Marc called looking for us. Once we got home, we found Marc and Sidney looking around the kitchen like they were lost. I giggled and walked over towards Sidney and kissed his cheek.

"Hey, how was the shopping spree?"

"Didn't spend anything, we were looking at possible designs for you house," I said as Vero and I spread everything out on the kitchen island.

"Our house," Sidney corrected as he walked over towards me, wrapped his arms around my waist and placed his chin on my shoulder, looking at everything in front of him, "Wow."

"I know you said that we would do this after, but I wanted to do it now, or at least get it started," I said and he nodded his head.

"I'll go print out the pictures," Vero said as she took my phone and walked towards her office.

"Where's Josh?"

"With the Dupers," Marc answered and I smirked, happy to see Josh was with a friend.

"Good."

"Vero!" Marc called, walking away from the island.

"Yeah!" Vero yelled from the office.

"What's for dinner?!" he yelled and I snorted.

"Whatever you make!" she yelled and I laughed a little harder.

"Oh great," Sidney muttered and I broke out of his arms and walked over towards the fridge and opened it to see a lot of food in there.

"I think I can whip something up,” I said and then felt Sidney wrap his arms back around my waist.

-Sidney-

“Damn Julie, you can live here forever,” Marc said as he gasped for air and leaned back on his chair, clearly stuffed from the three course meal that Julie had made, and between Marc and I, well along with Julie and Vero, there were no leftovers.

Julie giggled and then took a deep breath, “I’m stuffed.”

The doorbell rang and then we heard the front door open, “Hello?”

“Sounds like Duper,” Marc said and I nodded my head.

“In the kitchen!” Vero yelled and I heard footsteps.

“Mommy!” Josh yelled happily as he ran over towards me, “Uncle Dupie took us to McDonalds! We played in the play pen!”

“I’m sorry, Uncle Dupie?” Marc laughed and I smirked, highly amused by the new nickname, “Hi Uncle Dupie!”

“Shut up,” Pascal said and shoved Marc’s face away.

“Sorry Pascal,” Julie giggled and Pascal shrugged his shoulders.

“Eh, kids, what are ya gunna do?” he asked and I smirked and ruffled Josh’s hair, throwing my arm onto the back of Julie’s chair.

“Thanks for feeding him,” Julie smiled.

“No problem, Kody was buggin’ me to go to the play pen,” he laughed and then took a seat at the end of the table.

“Kody, come ‘ere, I wanna show you the new car I have!” Josh yelled happily and then grabbed Kody’s hand and ran through the kitchen and up the stairs.

“Oh, please don’t anything, please don’t break anything,” Vero kept on muttering.

“Hey, those are future hockey stars right there!” Marc stated and I laughed a little while Vero whipped her head around and looked at him.

“Are you gunna clean up the mess?” Vero looked at me and Marc snorted, “Didn’t think so, so shut up!”

“Oh, you showed him,” Pascal snorted and we all laughed while Marc rolled his eyes.
