Spraks Fly

Captivation

~Kris's P.O.V.~

"Okay guys, I need you all to work with me on this. As you all know Geno is getting married next Saturday. Next Saturday night after our game the boys and I are throwing him a bachelor party at Fat Heads." Sid spoke to the team after practice Thursday morning, Geno had taken a personal day to finalize some last minute things for the wedding.

As Sid spoke to the team about the plans for Saturday evening I let my mind drift off to thoughts of Renee. I couldn't seem to get her off of my mind since I had seen her in the Tux shop last week. When I shook her hand I felt a spark shoot through my arm, it was electrifying. I could only imagine what I would feel with her attached to my arm at the wedding, not once but twice. Besides that, it was inevitable that we would have to share at least one dance together at the reception and be forced to eat at the same table. How I was going to be able to control myself, I had yet to figure out, I just knew I had to get myself under control or else I was doomed.

"Kris, do you have any room in your apartment for a few of the guys to stay?" Sid asked interrupting my thoughts.

"Uh," I said clearing my throat, "Yeah, I have a spare bedroom, a pull out couch and there's plenty of floor space, so like four people maybe."

"Alright, good. So if any of you need a place to crash, alone, Kris's place is available." Sid stressed. The last thing the team needed was for an incident to happen. It was better to have all the bases covered and be safe than sorry. The less the public knew about their private lives, the better in my opinion.

""Dude," Marc Andre Fleury whispered, "Are you thinking about that girl again?" he asked.

"Yeah man, I can't help it. You've seen her, she's gorgeous and so, poised."

"Why don't you ask her out? She's here every day and besides, didn't you say she was in Geno's wedding?"

"Yeah," I said shifting my attention from the Captain to Marc.

"So, make up something, tell her you want to discuss the wedding over dinner. Use the wedding to your advantage and get to know her better."

"I don't know Fleury, you know how shy I am. As it is I make a fool out of myself every time she's at the rink."

Smiling he replied, "Yeah, that shot the other day, I thought it was going to get stuck in the rafters it was so high."

"That's my point, how am I supposed to have dinner with her, if I can't even focus when she's walking by?"

"Well, there's only one way you are going to find out,' he said patting him on the back before standing up and making his way to the showers.

As I unlaced my skates and got into my street clothes I made my decision. I was going to take Fleury's advice and ask Renee out on a date to get to know her better. Putting my jacket on I made way for the door in search of the woman who captivated me.

Just as I was about to exit the arena I heard someone calling my name. Turning around I was shocked to find Kris running after me.

"Hey," he said as he caught up to me.

"Hey," I replied adjusting my purse on my shoulder.

"So, I was wondering," he said running his fingers through his damp hair, "Are you busy tomorrow night?"

"Uhh, not that I know of?" I replied flustered.

"Well, I was thinking we could discuss some things for the wedding over dinner?" he asked. I could tell he was feeling extremely ucomfortable, he had probably been put up to asking me.

Relieved I replied, "Yeah sure, that sounds fine. Where would you like to go?"

"How about Cafe du Jour? I can pick you up around seven?"

"Sure, let me give you my address," I said fumbling for a pen and piece of paper in my oversize purse. As I scribbled my address and phone number down I felt my nerves begin to kick in again. Was this a date or just a dinner between two friends forced to walk down an isle together?

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then," he said as he took the piece of paper from me and a smile formed across his face.

"See you then."

Confused, I walked out to my vehicle on the ground level of the parking garage. Whether tomorrow night was a date or not, one thing was for certain, I was going to need to go shopping.

Getting into my little black Mitsubishi a smile crept across my face. I was going out on a date with Kris Letang tomorrow night, even if it was as friends, it was something. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach turning the more I thought about it. I was going to have to find something extra stunning, just to tease him into thinking that maybe I was interested. Just enough to keep him guessing.

Pulling into the Ross Park Mall I sent a text message that read :

To: Annlie
Since you did such a good job at picking out my dress, care to join me at the mall? Big news to tell you.

be-da-beep , my phone sounded.

From:Annlie
Sure! I'll be there in ten minutes. Can't wait ;)

To: Annlie
K. I'll meet you in Wet Seal.

I replied back before gathering up my purse and locking my car. This was going to be fun.

"Alright would you mind telling me what this exciting news is that you just have to tell me?" Annlie asked walking up behind her.

"I have a date tomorrow night," I said smiling from ear to ear.

Annlie's eye lit up as she squealed, "Oh my gosh, who?!"

"Well, it's not really a date just dinner, to discuss your wedding actually-"

"Kris! Kris asked you out!" she yelled before she was finished.

"Shh, you've got people staring. Yes, Kris asked me to go out to dinner with him to discuss the wedding."

"I told you he liked you girl! I knew it!"

"Anyways, I figured I would find something new to wear, something that will make him want more. You know, just a little tease in case it really is just a dinner with friends and nothing more."

"Oh hunnie, I am sure that he wants it to be more, he's just using my wedding as an excuse because he's so shy. So, lets find you something sexy," she said pawing through the clothes rack.

After about an hour of scrounging and trying on this and that we had narrowed it down to three choices. One which consisted of a blue dress that was plain and simple with a black belt around the middle. I was torn between wearing it with a pair of heels or throwing a pair of black jeans with it, boots and a scarf to dress it down a little. At the same time, I wondered if this would be too business like. For option number two I had a black and white cheetah printed dress that looked like a shirt then skirt. It made my boobs look fantastic while still keeping them concealed and showed off my long and lean legs. A double bonus, but I was worried it was too party-type. I didn't want to look like a cougar. So this brought me to option number three a tube top dress that was black with white stripes across the top and bottom. Just enough to accent my curves and show off my legs. It was classy, sexy and sophisticated especially with the right pair of heels.

Content with my outfits I brought them up to the counter and purchased them. One thing was for sure, I was going to leave Kris wanting more with any of these outfits.
