When I Get You Alone
Chapter Five
As they sat in bed together, enjoying each other’s body heat as they lay unclothed, the sun began to rise. Jared and Cayla gathered their clothes both deciding it would be best if Jared left through the basement door. He kissed Cayla passionately one last time before he went home, neither of them wanting to part. It felt too right being together, but they both knew if their siblings found out Jared stayed over, after everyone parted ways, they’d be bombarded with questions that they weren’t ready to answer. It was hardly 7 in the morning so it was safe to say neither one of the got a lick of sleep after an amazingly, mind blowing night. But they didn’t need it. They only needed to be in each other’s arms. And that’s what they got, even if they couldn’t savor it in a deep sleep together.
When Jared got back to his house he knew the guys would still be asleep, they had spent the rest of the night playing video games and watching movies. But he also knew he had to tell someone what happened last night and how incredible it was. He knew it would be Marc because he was closest with him out of his three brothers.
And as soon as Jared left Cayla bolted upstairs to her sister’s room.
“Megan! Megan! Open your door right now!”
“GO AWAY!”
“No! Look I’m so sorry for last night, I promise to tell you whatever you want to know and then some.”
Megan struggled to get out of her bed and unlocked her bedroom door, irritated nonetheless that her sister was waking her up. She gave her sister a weird look given the “and then some” part she added to the end of her sentence. Cayla walked in her room and sat on the bed waiting for her sister to join her.
“So tell me what was up with you at the barn last night.” Megan spat bitterly still pissed from the previous night.
“Well, uhhh…. I think I may or may not really like Jared.”
“What?! Cay, are you joking me?” Megan couldn’t control her laughter, Jared was basically her little brother, and she didn’t believe Cayla for a second.
“Yeah, since the end of senior year actually. “ Cayla said matter-of-factly
“Oh…” Was the only thing Megan could say as her face fell not knowing that her little sister was being totally serious right now.
“But last night, in the barn, that kiss was great. It was perfect really. I honestly wish it would have gone on longer. But you guys were there and kind ruined our moment with the cat calls and all..” Cayla stated with a giant smile growing on her face.
“What?” Megan asked as she caught her sisters gleaming smile
“What, what?” Cayla asked quickly getting rid of her huge smile
“What’s with that cheesy smile of yours?”
“Well….” Cayla started but couldn’t finish because she felt herself blushing, her face felt as if it could put the surface of the sun to shame.
“Spit it out before I slap you!” Megan was anxious to know what her sister wasn’t telling her.
“Well last night after we got home I couldn’t sleep because I was upset that we were fighting. And so I stayed up and watched Wayne’s World.”
“Yeah, that’s nothing new!”
“Well, there was a knock at the door in the middle of my movie, and it was Jared. He had left the guys to come over here.”
“Was he fighting with one of the guys or something?”
“No, no that’s not it.”
“Then what is it?! You’re killing me with all this suspense, just say it!”
“Okay but you’re taking this to the grave with you, you got that?”
“Cross my heart” Megan did the little movement for cross my heart that her and her sister always did when they made promises.
“Well I opened the door for him to come in and as soon as he put a foot inside he kissed me.” Cayla finally said with the same smile she had a couple minutes ago coming back to her face.
“Oh my god! How cute! I’m so happy for you little sis!” Megan was truly happy for her baby sister. She could tell her sister was too by the look in her eyes.
“But that’s not all…” Cayla continued
“What are you talking about that’s not all? Is this the ‘and then some’ part!?”
“ Yeah...”
“Well what are you waiting for? Spill it!”
“Well one thing led to another and…well… we… well you know.”
“No, I don’t know. ” Megan knew exactly what her sister was going to tell her but she was going to make her say it out loud.
“Are you really going to make me say it? ”
“Of course!”
“Well Jared and I had sex last night. There! Ughhhh” Cayla could feel her face turning beet red again as she pulled a pillow up to cover it
“You little whore, you!”
“ Be serious Meg.”
“Why should I be? My little sister got laid last night and I can’t joke about it.”
“Well, no! At least not yet you cant. ”
“And why is that Cay?”
“He was my first. ” Cayla said barely louder than a whisper that if Megan were sitting any farther away from her she wouldn’t have heard her.
“You're lying!” Megan’s mouth dropped open. She had no idea her sister was still a virgin even though she should have guessed it because she never told her that she lost her virginity
“I’m really not.” Cayla said blushing again.
“Oh my goodness Cayla! Where did you guys do it? Was it good? Are you guys a couple now or what? Are you gonna sleep with him again? ” Megan was talking too quick right now making Cayla’s head spin
Then Cayla stopped and thought about something for the first time since everything had happened; what was going to happen between her and Jared now?
“I don’t know Meg. I think I need to talk to Jared. We haven’t talked about any of that.”
“Oh, I'm sorry little sis, I didn’t know.”
“No don’t worry about it, I’ll let you know what happens. ” Cayla got up and walked out of her sister’s room.
Now she was thinking of everything she just asked her. She needed to talk to Jared. She returned to her bedroom to catch up on some sleep. After her nap she would have some breakfast and text Jared so they could talk.
Jared went straight to his room, he was in desperate need of sleep and he knew he would hear when everyone woke up, because a house full of hungry guys could never be quiet.
It was 12:45 now and Jared started to hear the guys’ muffled voices. He went to the kitchen to find them all scarfing down breakfast. He needed to talk to Marc and sooner before later.
“Uhhh Marc?” Jared asked hoping only he would hear him.
“What’s up Jare?” Marc answered turning to face Jared
“When you’re done eating come up to my room, I need to talk to you.”
“Uh, yeah of course.” Marc said unsure of himself not knowing if he should be worried about his youngest brother or not.
A couple of minutes passed and there was a knock at Jared’s door.
“Come in.” Jared called out from his bed.
“What’s up little bro?” Marc was worried that something was wrong with Jared
“I just wanna talk.” Jared said turning over in his bed
“Okay, talk away.”
“There is no easy way around it, so I guess I’ll just say it.” Jared said waiting for a response from Marc but not getting one.
“I slept with Cay last night.”
“Slept with her how?” Marc asked, wanting to make sure not to jump to any conclusions
“Don’t be so dull Marc. You know what I'm talking about.”
“Oh wow Jare you’re being serious huh?” Marc doubted him at first but with the look on Jared’s face he knew he wasn’t lying.
“As a heart attack. But you don’t get it Marc. It was amazing, I didn’t want to leave her this morning…” Jared’s mind drifted to the previous night he spent with Cayla. Her baby smooth skin, the way her touch made his skin tingle with fire, and the way she looked at him with her moss green eyes.
“Jare are you even listening to me?” Marc was warning him, but Jared heard nothing of it.
“No, sorry bro. What did you say?”
“I said you better not let Alex and Adam find out. Or Jordan for that fact”
“And why is that.”
“Because you had sex with their sister Jared. No matter how close we all are, you know how protective we all are of Cayla especially them two. And Jordan is her best friend, he’d kick your ass if he found out”
“I'm pretty sure they have no say in who Cay decides to have sex with Marc.”
“Jare think about it. I’m just warning you, I'm looking out for you. But thanks for sharing that little brother. ” Even though Marc didnt want to hear about his brother's sexual adventure with a girl who was basically his sister, but he knew that Jared told him because they were so close and he would be the only one to hear of this. At least until the rest of the siblings found out, not knowing when that would be.
“Thanks for listening Marc.”
“Jare?”
“Yeah?”
“Was she your first?”

“Yeah…” Jared said with a smile of accomplishment growing on his face
“Wipe that stupid smile off of your face. Just keep what I said in mind.”
“Will do Marc.” And with that Marc walked out of Jared’s room
Just as his door shut Jared received a text. It was from Cayla, he was happy to see that he was still on her mind. All it read was “Meet me at the dock at the lake. I’ll meet you there at 1:30.” Jared didn’t find it necessary to answer back, he just threw on his shoes and a hoodie and headed downstairs for some food. Twenty minutes from now he would see the girl that suddenly made his heart jump around in his chest and sent chills down his spine.
