We'll Always Have Each Other
A Nice Way to Start the Night
Kylie's POV:
It was game 6 vs the Ottawa Senators. I, Kylie Landing, was in Pittsburgh with my best friend Jordan for the first time since 2005 to see my best friend Sidney and cousin James play. I was so excited for warm ups because that was when the visual producers would show Jordan and I on the big screen for Sidney and James to see! I haven't seen Sid since the 2005 NHL draft, and I haven't seen James since last Christmas. I was so excited to surprise them both!
There we were! Right there on the big screen for everyone to see. Well, almost everyone. Sid & James were so focused to warming up they didn't even look up when the crowd was slightly cheering for me, knowing that I'm James Neal's cousin. Finally, they both look up and James smiled so big! As for Sid, he had no clue who I was and had to skate over to James and ask. He slowly remembered, and you could definitely tell when he finally understood. His smile was big too. I was so happy. It was an awesome moment knowing that my best friend for eight years finally saw me again. I loved Sid, as a friend of course, he just gets me. He understood me in ways that my brother, sister, even Jordan couldn't do. He was a great guy and I couldn't wait to run up and hug him right after the game. Speaking of the game, it started.
Just after the buzzer sounded and the crowd knew it was over, I went ecstatic. James had a hat trick, and we beat Ottawa 6-2. We were moving on in the playoffs! Aahhh! I was so caught up in the pens winning the series that I totally forgot about Sid & James. I whispered to Jordan, "Hey. We gotta go see the boys!" We both quickly got out of our seats and ran to the Penguins' locker room. We were allowed in, and there was James. My incredibly talented brother. I ran up to him and gave him a big bear hug like we always used to do to each other. I told him how proud I was of him and how the pens are for sure going to win the cup this season. We talked for a little while longer, and I look back to see where Jordan had went. She and Matt Niskanen were chatting away and all I could do was smile. This was really going to be the best night ever. But it feels like something's missing... Sidney! Oh my god, how could I forget about my best friend? I look around and couldn't find him, so desperately ask James where he is. "He's just taking a shower! Calm down, Ky!" said James. "I can't! He's my best friend and I haven't seen him for almost eight years!" "Ok, ok. Look, here he comes now." said James. I turn around and there he was. Sidney Crosby. Before I made a second thought we ran to each other giving each other a sweet, yet passionate hug. I missed him so much. I missed being there for him. I missed him being there for me. Finally, we let go and stared into each others' eyes. "Hey, Ky. I missed you!" he said still looking into my eyes. "I missed you too! I can't wait to spend some time with you, Sid!" "How long are you staying?" he asked. "Four days." I replied. "Ok. Do you wanna come hang out with me and some of the boys tonight at the bar?" "Sure, as long as I can take my friend Jordan, she came here with me. You remember her, right?" I asked. "How could I forget the girl who accidentally spilled her lemonade all over you when the three of us went to lunch after the draft a couple years ago?! Sid said humorously. "Haha, yeah." I replied back not being embarrassed at all because I was around Sid. "Ok! Well go get Jordan and we'll head out!" Said Sid in a friendly tone. "Ok, Cindy!" I said mockingly because Sid hates when I call him that. "He walked away with a cute smirk on his face. Man, this boy has changed. A lot. I couldn't wait to spend more time with him!
