The One Night That Changed My Life Forever

Congrats Jonny Boy

Weeks went by and things were going great between Pat and I. I watched all his games when, I could and mad sure to PVR them if I wasn't able to make them. This way I could always find ways to cheer Pat up after a loss or a game he said he played horrible at, by finding all the things he did well. I never sat with the other WAG's, not just because I didn't really belong, but also just because just being in the fan atmosphere was exhilarating on its own. Although Pat and I had been dating for over a month now, we still hadn't gone public. Limited people knew of our relationship, that being the team and Ellie. We still hadn't really talked about telling our families, and were just focused on making this work.
*FLASHBACK*
" Hey Guys" I said to the guys after Pat and Jonny had left the locker room a few days after the whole bet thing had gone down.
"Hey Rach" a chorus of guys responded back.
"Soooo…" I said starting off slow " I'm going to need to ask you guys a favour. I'm going to need a little bit of money from you guys."
"From who?"
"All those that were part of Jonny's little bet, a few nights ago." They all looked around, then one by one they turned their attention back on me.
"Why? We won that money fair and square." The only one who really seemed to understand where I was going with this was Sharpie. I understood why Pat called him the sharpest one on the team.
"Let her finish" Sharpie looked at me and smirked.
"Ok well, I'm going to need that money back" I said laughing.
"Wait you didn't? You totally did!" exclaimed Shawzy. "Damn that kid is lucky, how does he score a catch like you?"
"Do you really want me to answer that? Anyways now that that's settled, pay up boys! Jonny's face is going to be priceless when I hand him back a giant wad of cash, and tell him that we have been messing with him the past few days" I laughed.
"I'm in, this is going to be awesome" Sharpie said as the guys each grabbed out a few bills and handed them to me.
" I can't believe you guys carry this much cash with you. I'll have to remember that" I winked.
"Where are the guys anyways?" Shawzy asked.
"They are on the ice already, which I suppose you guys should be getting to, even if its only an optional practice."
Soon it was just Sharpie and I left. "Hey Rach." Sharpie said going to open the door.
"Yah?"
"Take care of the kid, you're the best thing that's happened to him" he said making his way back to the rink.
"Will do, and not a word of this to the Captain" I yelled down the hallway, just loud enough that the two guys on the ice could hear me. Pat turned and winked at me, mouthing "I love You" from behind Jonny's back.
"Tell Me What?" Jon said from right in front of me.
Some of the guys snickered, while others just skated of in Pat's direction laughing and clubbing him on the back.
"What am I missing here?" Jon asked turning super serious mode on.
"Ohhhh…nothing" I winked at him. With that he came over, and put me on his shoulder and dumped me off at centre ice. I hadn't expected that, and I was seriously regretting my shoe choices for today, as heels did not work so well on ice. I sat down to avoid making a fool of myself by falling on my ass. "Screw You Jon! Now I'm cold" I pouted, waited for my knight in shinning armour to come and sweep me off this freezing cold ice. Soon enough him and Sharpie came to my rescue, holding me up on both sides. "Thanks guys, anyone know what's gotten into Jon today? He's being more of a tool than usual… I wonder what's up" I winked at them, causing them to burst into laughter, followed by the rest of the team shortly after.
"Nope sorry, but we couldn't let a beautiful girl like you freeze on the ice, especially by Tazer's doing" Sharpie said seriously.
"Awe thanks guys, you are my heroes." I went up and gave Sharpie a kiss on the cheek, making my way to Pat. I made sure Jon was watching before whispering in Pat's ear "I think we have made him suffer long enough, ready for this? Be ready to skate."
"I'm ready if you are" he turned and smirked whispering in my ear.
"You ready to skate?" I said out loud, bringing the team's attention back on us, everyone smiling except Jon who wore a very confused facial expression.
"Now or never babe." As I kissed him on the lips just long enough for Jon to understand what was going on. "Well that's thanks enough" I said turned to Jon winked.
"Now What May I ASK Is This? " Jon's voice boomed.
"Uhh, well I think it's pretty self explanatory Jon. Oh ya I almost forgot to return this to you, believe me I had a hell of a time getting it back from your team here" I said pointing at the guys, still in Pat's arms.
"Ok, now skate Pat" I whispered as I chucked the wad at Jonny. "Have a great practice guys, I'll see you tonight."
"Oh yah, Thanks for the heads up Friday night Sharpie" Pat yelled as we made it off the ice.
"Damn you Sharpie!" I heard Jon muttered, as he made his way to follow us. Everyone else knew Sharpie didn't do anything but Jon, so it was kind of funny to see him blaming Sharpie.
"I should have expected something like this from you two" Jon muttered as he caught up with us.
"Well congrats Jon, you finally figured it out. To be honest I was going to make this last a lot longer, but Rach was too nice of a person to let that happen" he said nodding to me.
"Yes, well that is not how I was having you guys figure out Pat and I were together, I personally like this scenario better" I laughed.
"Whatever" Jon muttered making his way into the locker room.
"I hope he isn't mad" I said to Pat.
"Nah he's not mad at you per say, he's more mad that I his best friend didn't tell him."
"Alright then, go take a shower and lets get out of here."
*END FLASHBACK*
So sure the guys knew, and I really did deserve a spot up there with the WAG's which Pat had already convinced me of, but I would choose ice side seats every game. I love watching the guys from a fan's perspective, and not feeling over special. I just wanted to watch the game, and wanted the guys to win just like every other fan. Pat had gotten me a seasons passes, which I knew were obviously quite expensive. He said that this way he would always know where to find me. I offered to pay for some of the ticket not wanting to seem like a puck bunny, but he would have none of it. Claiming that I was nothing like them and that it was his pleasure because he wanted me there, and there was no way he was making me pay on my already struggling student budget. I told him I would pay him back, one way or another to which I think he took very well. Some days El would come with me to the games. Izzy even came to another one. Mostly Abby Sharp came and sat with me during the games, claiming that I was much nicer company than some of the other "girlfriends" who we assumed just wanted their few days of fame. Over the weeks Abby and I had become pretty great friends, and she was by far the coolest of the WAG's in my opinion. I would still get jealous stares coming from girls when they saw my signed, jersey that Pat had given me for my first game. It had accumulated a few more signatures as I wore it to every game, and guys made it their mission to sign it. I forbade anyone to write in the numbers, reserving that right for Pat alone. I was also getting used to the comments as well as two girls above me started with the "How did she get that?" and the "Wow she must be great in bed to get all those signatures, I mean it's like half the team." To which I turned around, smiled and said "Have you met my friend Abby Sharp?" They just looked shocked and retorted by saying " Whatever slut, we all know that you know nothing about hockey." "Hmm yup we will see about that" I winked. Abby and I turned and laughed, watching the guys skate back on the ice. I was glad that this period they were on this end. When there was a face-off on our side Abby and I waved at both Patricks on the ice. They obliged and waved back, we gave them both air kisses and went back to the game. I turned and looked back at the girls who had turned white above me. "Oh sorry, are you guys alright you don't look to hot. Abby I don't think they look too good. What's your opinion?" Abby and I just turned around, high fived and ignored the glares burning holes in our backs. The game was tied 3-3 against the Bruins. After ten minutes through the third the game was still tied. Overtime didn't change the outcome either. I was nervous, I had never seen a shootout live before, and even though this was just an average game I still wanted the guys to win. The shootout began, and Abby and I were both on our seats. Toews scored effortlessly and laughed when he saw us dancing our asses off. The bruins didn't score, and now it was Sharpie's turn. I held on to Abby's arm "he will score don't worry." He did, it was a nice move just beating the goalie. He skated this way around the boards winking at Abby as he skated past. It was Bergeron's shot to keep his team in the game. I secretly hoped he scored just so I could see Pat shoot, but that was selfish I thought, and pushed that thought to the bottom of my mind. However he did score, and I looked up at Abby. "This is it!" I whisper screamed. I watched as Pat took his time, skating out to centre ice. He looked over and winked mouthing " Watch this" That's what I did. Though I had to ignore a bunch of fangirls going crazy over the fact that Patrick Kane had winked over here. I just smiled, and focused on the shot that went by quickly. The poor goalie didn't even have a chance. The puck moved from left to right completely messing up Rask, leaving a wide open net for Pat to slide the puck in effortlessly. The goal light went on, and the buzzer sounded. Just like that my man was the hero of the game, and the Hawks had officially beat the bruins. Before leaving Abby and I made sure to say bye to our new friends before making our way down to the locker room. As the players trickled out we congratulated them all on the win. From the way they were all smiling it was as if they had just won the Stanley cup, but I guess it was their first time playing them since the cup finals so they did have a reason to be happy. Pat made his way out of the room 30 minutes later. "A lot of press today superstar?" I asked? His face lit up making his way over to me, giving me a kiss. "Hey save some of that for later" I giggled.
"Will do" he smirked. "Did you see my goal?"
"Of course I did, but I think I might have missed it if you hadn't told me to watch it. I mean it's not as if 20 000 other fans weren't focused on it" I laughed.
"Yah, Yah whatever I have a feeling you won't like me kissing you like I want to, especially with all this press here, so want to get out of here?"
" I would love to, but I'm forcing you to go out with the guys. I'm not going to be that clingy girl that needs you every minute of the day. Plus by the looks we are getting I'm assuming they are talking about how whipped you are. "
"Ok, one condition you are coming with, and we are not staying too long."
"I can work with that, and hand over the keys now. It will be much easier than trying to take them from a bunch of drunk hockey players later on."
"You sure? We can just get a car to drive us home afterwards."
"No, really it's no problem. I usually don't drink anyways. The night we met was a huge exception" I laughed.
"I knew I love you for a reason. I'm going to round up the guys. I'll be right back."
**
"Hey guys great game tonight!"
"Thanks for letting Pat come out, we missed our wingman" the younger guys admitted. To that comment I just laughed. "As long as you guys don't get him into trouble he's all yours." We had started off at a sports bar to feed the starving boys, then we had made it to our regular club. We were in the VIP section, as I watched Pat trying to work his magic on a couple girls for Shawzy and Saader. Once his mission was accomplished he made his way back in, and suddenly we were both making our way to the dance floor. I didn't mind that he was a little buzzed, because he had never once strayed far from my side or gave any girl a second glance. I could tell Pat wanted to go home, just by the way we were dancing, and the fact he started making out with me in the middle of the club. To his happiness the other guys were deciding that it was time to go home as well, so we all made it to the Hummer, and I started dropping people off one by one. By 2:30 it was just Pat and I, and I had just pulled into his parking lot. I was so tired by the time we made it into the apartment, and I could tell Pat was suffering from the same thing. We got to the bed and literally just crashed and were out several minutes later wrapped in each other's arms.

Great job

Amazing job. Wasn't expecting him to have another kid from a different relationship in this story. Kudos for them for not resenting each other or the kid though. Great job
