The One Night That Changed My Life Forever

Little had Ellie known that in fact that night would be the night that my heart wound up completely shattered.

Mike and I decided that we should have a night out, seeing as neither him or I had plans for the next day.

~~Hey El... Mike and I are heading out to Spy tonight text me if you wanna meet up after work, if not i'll see you later.

-Okay!!! thx Rach...and I'm soooo jealous right now!

~~Why? someone annoying walk into your section?

Ellie was working as a waitress at the local Buffalo Wild Wings, as a bartender and server, and normally got a lot, a lot of attention

-Yah, there's a few drunk ones here demanding my attention. I gotta go Ill talk to you later, don't wanna get myself fired anytime soon.

Spybar Later that night...

"Hey Mike I'm just going to hit the bathroom. I'll be right back... Don't miss me too much," I winked and kissed his cheek.

I was stepping out of the bathroom as I was suddenly whisked away by the crowd. By the time I finally made it back to the bar it had been 30 minutes and Mike was nowhere to be found. I scanned the crowd for my gorgeous boyfriend, trying to spot out his dirty blonde hair through the crowd. When I finally found him, he wasn't alone... I found him grinding with a beautiful model type woman. She was tall, and skinny and had everything going on in all the right places. I just stood there shocked unsure of what to do. I finally turned away and made my way to the bar once grinding changed into full on making out. I turned back just in time to see them making their way out of the club. I was horrified, and completely heartbroken. The alcohol was helping, and to be honest it was the only thing keeping me from completely breaking down.

Suddenly I realized I wasn't the only one in complete shock after seeing that show take place. There was a whole group of, well I have to say it well toned boys looking very drunk yet very sexy all in a group and from what I could make out they wanted answers as well.

A bit further down the bar I saw the boy they were talking about head down, drowning shot after shot at the bar. I decided that Mike was not going to ruin my night so I just went for it and made my way to where the man with the blonde curls was sitting.

"Hi, I was just wondering why all those guys are pointing at you, I'm Rachel by the way."

"Wow you look like you are feeling just as shitty as I am, care to join me for a drink?" "Patrick" he mumbled.

"So what's got such a pretty girl like you this depressed and sad looking? he asked "No offence" he added quickly.

"Well as of tonight my boyfriend of over 3 years and I are over."

"Sorry, sometimes guys are stupid." he said

Noticing by the pain it took for him to force a smile, I was instantly worried. What could cause a guy this sexy to be down in the dumps?

"So what's your excuse?" I asked hesitantly, hoping for a normal answer.

"Well that's the funny thing, it's the same story as yours." He said slowly replying.

"I thought I was enough. After three years you would think I was enough."

"Same here, although for me it was only two years, it still hurts though." Pat added with a sad smile

"So how did you find out your girl was cheating?" I asked hoping not to push him too far.

"Well she just left with a tall guy with brown hair, after practically doing him on the dance floor for everyone to see, even my teammates over there." He said pointing to the group that had begun to disperse but were still looking over with worried looks.

"She didn't happen to be wearing a white dress? look to be about the same height as the guy, and walk out that door, did she?" I questioned

"How did you know?" He pondered.

"Well..." I started of with a sigh, and then was overridden with shock. "That was my boyfriend."

Wow I had managed to find the one guy in all of Chicago that was hurting just as much as me, and had just had his heart shattered in the same embarrassing way I had.
