The One Night That Changed My Life Forever

5:30 rolled around and I was awake dealing with a hungry baby. I wasn't too upset as this was surprisingly the first time she had woken up throughout the night. I got out of bed quickly and quietly and made sure to get her before she would wake everyone else up. Once Bella was taken care of I decided to watch some TV, and watch the sunrise. After a good hour of just sitting and relaxing I started cooking a standard breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. As usual the smell of food brought Pat out to the table, with Amanda not far behind. We had a couple hours before the morning skate to get ready, eat and relax.
"This, I really could get used to." Pat said with a smile on his face and an empty plate.
"That's good, cause I'm sticking around." I said chuckling and taking the empty plates to the dishwasher. After finishing the clean up of the few leftovers Amanda and I went to get ready. I decided on black leggings, a flowy top, and a longer coat. I curled my hair lightly, and wore a light coating of makeup. I put Bella in her Kane jersey covered in a onesie winter outfit so she'd be warm. Amanda looked cute as well, with her nicely curled hair paired with a cute Blackhawks hat and leggings and a jacket similar to mine. Pat had on a pair of our Hawks track pants, as well as a tight fitting shirt covered by jacket. "So where are we meeting your sisters?" I asked Pat as we made out way out to the living room.
"They are meeting us there. Mom and Dad are coming too, they stayed at a hotel last night. You in for dinner tomorrow night??"
"Alright. And yes dinner sounds great." I said as we walked out of the apartment and to the elevator. "Amanda's still going to be busy tomorrow night with Jonny so I'm guessing Bella is coming with us." I said smirking.
"Yup, we have reservations at Derek's restaurant in the private room."
"That sounds perfect." I said laughing as Amanda took Bella and started playing with her. I gave him a quick kiss and settled in closer to him, letting my head rest on his shoulder and just smiled. He wrapped his arm around me, and pulled me in closer.
"I love you." He whispered as we stepped out into the parking garage.
"I love you too." I whispered back before taking Bella back and strapping her into the backseat beside me. I texted Jon asking him where he was, so I could orchestrate his surprise perfectly. Of course he was already there, and he said that someone was here I'd be excited to see. I could only imagine, I thought to myself as Pat pulled into the players parking lot. I was excited to see everyone again, and to meet some of the guests that had gotten a chance to come out and skate with us.
"The family will be here in twenty." Pat said as we walked into the UC Amanda in tow. We got our skates on, and I texted Jon saying I had someone he'd be excited to see too, knowing full well he would think of Bella and not Amanda.
Jon~~ Bella Bear?
Me~~ Nope. Better ;) Turn around.
I texted as we reached the outside of the ice. I saw him look at his phone and start to turn. Upon seeing us waving he had an instant smile and skated our way. He engulfed Amanda in a hug twirling her around on the ice before kissing her. After receiving a few whistles and cat calls they broke away from each other smiling. "Surprise." I exclaimed laughing.
"I thought you had work?" Jon asked Amanda.
"Got off early, thought I'd spend a bit more time down here." She said smiling.
"God. I missed you." Jon said wrapping his arm over her shoulder.
"We can tell." Pat said chuckling and smirking at Jonny.
"Oh shut up. You two are just as bad." Jon said shaking his head.
"We are aren't we." Pat said laughing, and giving me a quick kiss before we got on the ice.
"So this must be the Amanda Jonny won't ever shut up about!" Seabs said skating up to us.
"Oh really?" Amanda questioned as we all started laughing at Jon's expense.
"Amanda Brent. Brent this is Amanda." Jon said introducing the pair. The two started talking and I returned my focus back on Jon.
"So what's my surprise?" I asked.
"Haha you will never guess who she is." Jon said laughing. "Fucking, unbelievable."
"Oooo. A girl? Mrs. Andrée Toews?"
"Nope. Davy brought a friend." He said smirking, and wiggling his eyebrows.
"Oooooo a Winnipeg 'friend'?"
"They were introduced there. You're pretty good friends with her if I do recall." With that my eyes lit up. I knew exactly who it was.
"Damn! Go Davy. That girl." I said laughing and scanning the ice for the two of them. I gave Pat a quick kiss, and handed Bella off to him before clapping Jonny on the shoulder and skating over to the couple.
"DAVY!" I exclaimed jumping on his back. "Slut." I said winking at my future line mate.
"Hey Rach." David chuckled supporting my weight as I managed to stay on his back.
"Bitch. Looks like you got your arm candy back." Marie wiggled her eyebrows nodding over to Pat, Jon, and Amanda.
"I did, sorry for not texting you sooner. It's been a crazy month." I said laughing. "What's going on between the two of you eh?"
"Well I hug around Winnipeg a little bit longer, and we hung out, got to know each other, and now we are together." She said laughing.
"Davy you better not be stealing my girl." I heard Pat chuckle as the three of them skated up to us.
"Wouldn't dream of it daddy." Davy said laughing
"Daddy?" Marie questioned.
"Oh shit, right. Anyways Pat this is my line mate Marie, Marie this is Pat and well our daughter Isabella." I said introducing them.
"You're pretty good at keeping a secret huh? Davy." I said winking before climbing off his back.
"I'm not even going to ask how." Marie said with a stunned expression on her face.
"Let's just say the reason I was tired and felt crappy somedays at camp was because of this little one, even I didn't know about." I said laughing
You're lucky." She said laughing. "I know I'm going to be a whale when I have a kid."
"It was weird, but yes I don't mind the limited fat part." I said laughing. "Plus the kid's pretty cute too."
"Indeed she is." Marie said winking.
"So you guys are just down for the weekend then? And then back off to your respective schools?"
"Yup. Then off to our first game." Marie said.
"Exciting stuff." I said laughing.
"Yah it should be fun. " She said smiling.
"So how's the team treating you?" Davy asked.
"Great! Now hurry your butt up and get drafted up here." I said laughing. "Actually scratch that one Toews is enough." I said laughing.
"Funny Rach. Really funny." Jon said shaking his head.
"I'm trying." Davy said laughing.
"It'll come, obviously look at your bro. The genes run in the family, you aren't half bad either. I'd take you on my team." I said.
"Yah, Jonny's just showing off." David said laughing.
"Agreed." I said laughing and winking at Jon.
"There's my family." I heard Andrée join the group. "Darling I trust Pat's treating you well?" She said smiling at me.
"Amazing." I said nodding. "I see the little one found a girl huh?" I said smirking at David.
"He did. I guess I have you to thank for that." She said laughing.
"I got the pieces rolling they did the rest." I laughed.
"Speaking of little girls, Jonny told me about yours. Can I see her?" Andrée asked eyes glowing.
"Of course. You are considered a third Grandma." I said laughing, as Pat transferred her over to Andrée.
"She sure is precious!" Andrée cooed.
"Incoming." Pat said looking up from his phone.
"Patty Cakes!" The girls exclaimed before jumping on their brother, roughing up his hair, and giving him a big hug.
"Is this really necessary?" He asked laughing. "We saw each other like 3 days ago."
"Of course." The girls said laughing. "Hey Davy, Andrée" they waved. "Who's the girl Davy?" They asked pestering him, and making faces. Davy introduced them and the girls started talking off to the side.
"Where's your parents?" I asked Pat.
"They are with your surprise." He said winking.
"More surprises?" I questioned.
"Yup. I think you will like this one." He smirked.
"Patrick Timothy Kane. What are you up to?" I said laughing.
"Oh nothing."
"Nothing my ass."
"Oh My! Are you talking about my ass Rach!" I heard a gasp from behind me.
"Dylan!" I exclaimed jumping on him. "I haven't seen you in forever! What are you doing here?"
"I know I missed you lil sis. Ask your boyfriend." He said nodding at Pat who shrugged a smile on his face.
"Eh! Share the loving."
"Scotty! You're here too!" I exclaimed giving him a hug as well. "Still just as tan as I remember." I said laughing. "Have you two taken pictures with everyone yet?"
"Not everyone, but we were hoping you would." They said winking.
"I'd be flattered." I said laughing, before taking a picture of the three of us making funny faces. I uploaded it to twitter. It read: "The Carson's are back #reunited #hawks #familyskate #bestboyfriend" I tagged them and Pat in the picture, before returning my focus back on the conversation going on in front of me.
"Seriously Twitter?" Dylan said laughing as he received the notification along with the other two.
"Yup. It's been forever since I've posted anything. " I said laughing.
"2 days is not forever." Scott said laughing, as the others joined in laughing as well.
"It's a girl thing." I sighed, as the Kane sisters and Amanda agreed with me.
"Damn you've got some bitchy followers." Dylan commented.
"Nothing new." I said shrugging.
"Just wait until they see you play. That will put an end to the whole she doesn't deserve to play in the NHL crap." Dyl said laughing.
"They obviously haven't seen you play." Scott said laughing.
"It really isn't a big deal." I said shrugging. "They are just saying it out of jealousy. That started before they even named me to the team. If we win the Stanley Cup, they have no reason to keep hating me." I said laughing.
"That'd be nice." Pat chuckled from behind us. "Besides I love ya." He whispered in my ear. I chuckled and let my hands rest on his. Bella was still with Andrée and she wasn't fussy which was a nice change.
"So where are your parents? I got my surprise." I said smiling.
"They are talking over there. " Pat said nodding to the rink entrance.
"YOU DIDN"T" I exclaimed.
"Hmmmhmmm." He chuckled.
"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" I exclaimed giving him a huge hug and a simple kiss before skating off in their direction.
"MOM! DAD!" I exclaimed giving them a hug. "Hey Donna, Pat." I said smiling after giving my parents a hug. "You raised the greatest man in the world!" I exclaimed.
"We were impressed. We figured he'd forget about the whole thing, but nope he didn't." Donna said laughing as I hugged both her and Pat Sr.
"No I did." I said laughing. "Although I had other stuff on my mind, and I did just find out about the whole me playing thing." I said laughing.
"Pat said you would forget it, so he invited us down and didn't tell you and decided to make a surprise out of it. So where's my baby girl?"
"Wow! Ditching me already." I said laughing. "She's over with Andrée." I said pointing over to Jon's poesy and Pat.
"Ah the famous Andrée Toews you wouldn't stop going on about after Winnipeg." Mom said laughing.
"Yup. That's her." I said nodding.
"Hey Abbs. Sharpie." I said smiling. "How are you today little Maddy?" I asked picking up the little girl.
"I's good. I's missed you Rach!" She said giving me a hug.
"I missed you too. Did you have a good summer?"
"Yah! I's went to Canwada with mommy and daddy. I's went swimming, and plwayed with dollies. "
"Wow! That sounds like so much fun! I played hockey. You want to skate with me or daddy?"
"You!" She exclaimed. I laughed and picked her up. I pointed my parents over to where Pat was, before laughing at Sharpie and going for a skate with Maddy.
"So you want to go see my little girl?" I asked Maddy after a couple minutes of skating.
"You's got a wittle girl too?"
"Yup. But she's littler than you. Just a little baby."
"Is she Unca Patwicks wittle girl too?"
"Yes." I said nodding.
"She a nice baby?"
"Yah, she's nice but she cries a lot."
"Dat's ok I cwy a lot too."
"Let's go see Uncle Patrick, and Uncle Jon alright."
"Unca Patwick!" Maddy exclaimed waving to him as we skated over.
"Hey Madds how's my favourite Sharp today?"
"Good Unca Patwick. Can I see your wittle girl?" She said putting on the cutest pouty face.
"Of course little Madds." He said taking Bella from Andrée and holding her in front of Maddy.
"Can I touch Unca Patwick?"
"Softly, yes. See you can touch her head like this." He said softly rubbing Bella's head.
"She's gawt soft hairs Unca Patwick. She tired no?"
"Yes she's sleepy right now." Pat replied. "It's her nap time." He said touching Maddy in the nose causing her to giggle.
"She's pwettier dan my dollies." Maddy exclaimed getting a chuckle from everyone around the group.
"Why thank you Madds." Pat said kissing her cheek as she laughed and hugged him. We switched kids. I took Bella, and he kept Maddy who was not letting go of him anytime soon.
"Mommy look! Unca Patwick's got a wittle girl just wike me!" Maddy exclaimed as Abbs skated up to us " And she's pwettier dan my dollies."
"Are you two going to be friends?"
"Yes. I's gonna play dollies wiv her once she olda. I's too big wite now."
"Im sure she'd like that." Abby said winking at us.
"Were's daddy?
"He's coming right over there." She said pointing to Patrick making his way over after chatting with some people.
"Daddy! Has you seen Unca Patwick's wittle girl? She pwitty."
"I have." He said nodding giving his little girl a smile.
"She pwitty daddy. Just wike me." Maddy exclaimed as everyone smiled. "You tan touch her head daddy." She said smiling and ruffling Bella's practically non existent hair.
"Uh oh. Auntie Rach she no likes me." She said as Bella woke up cranky from her nap.
""She loves you little Madds, she's just tired and hungry." I said rocking Bella.
"Cans I help you feeds her?"
"Ask your mommy and daddy." I said laughing. "Don't worry I brought the bottle today." I said laughing as Maddy was asking her dad if she could go. Madds got permission and then we were off. We came back a few minutes later. I had Maddy in one arm and Bella cradled in the other.
"So wait. IT wasn't a joke?" Crow exclaimed skating over to the rink's entrance.
"Hi Cowie." Maddy said sucking her thumb and curling up into me.
"Hey little Madds, who's your new friend?"
"Unca Patwick's wittle girl. What's her name Auntie Rach?"
"Isabella." I said smiling down at the two girls.
"A pwincess name Unca Cowie!" She exclaimed as we laughed at her undeniable cuteness.
"Yup, just like Belle." He said laughing and taking Maddy into his arms.
"Skate me awound Unca Cowie!" She said giggling as he twirled her around. I left the two of them to their shenanigans and headed back over to where the three families were chatting.
"I see my daughter is people hopping." Sharpie said laughing.
"Yup Uncle Corey stole her attention." I said returning the laugh. "So when are the contest winners coming?"
"They should be here in a few minutes. I think they wanted to give us some time to get settled in before springing kids and their families on our own."
"Sweet! I can't wait to see their faces." I said laughing. "Almost like your's eh? Sharpie."
"Shush."
"Never. You created the greatest prank by yourself and for yourself." I said laughing.
"I did dig myself in a hole on that one didn't I?"
"A little bit." I said winking. "So do you want to see her before we send her back to her actual parents." I winked laughing.
"Yah, yah rub it in. Sure I'll have to teach her who's the better Patrick on the team."
"Funny." Pat said laughing. "Who's jersey is she wearing right now? He said smiling a triumphant smile.
"We might have to change that." He said smirking and cuddling the smiling baby in his arms. "Looks like she likes me." He said laughing.
"She like guys in general." I said laughing. "She got that from her daddy." I said smirking. "It's a good thing she's going to have a bunch of big hockey players looking out for her."
"She would have inherited that from Peeks." He said laughing and shaking his head. "She obviously inherited your looks." Sharpie said laughing. "She isn't ugly."
"Eh! Just because you are the prettiest Chicagoan or whatever doesn't make me ugly!" Pat said laughing.
"You two are both cute, now shut up." I said laughing at the two of them bickering over their looks.
"Just saying she's lucky she got Rach's looks." Sharpie said laughing earning a playful shove from Pat.
"Really? I think she looks like him." I said laughing.
"Great a girl version of Kaner. Exactly what the world needs." Sharpie said laughing.
"Yah, the world might be in trouble. We'll have to tame her down a bit seeing as it's us she came from."
"A bit? "
"Yah. She might be a little wild child huh?" I said chuckling.
"Ya think?" Sharpie said laughing. "She's going to have you two eating out of the palm of her hands."
"What like Maddy?" I said laughing.
"I can't say no!" He exclaimed. "She's got the pouty face."
"Oh I am very much aware." I said laughing. "She's cute though, truly adorable.
"Yup. Can't wait to see what this little one turns into." He said pointing at the baby in Abby's arms.
"Knowing you two, just as cute." I said laughing.
"So how does it feel Peeks? You ready to grow up?"
"Great! It's crazy to think that I helped make that." He said pointing to the girl asleep in Sharpie's arms.
"Now it's Jonny's turn." Sharpie said winking at Jon and Amanda.
"We'll see." Jon said laughing.
"So who's Shawzy's girl?" I asked changing the subject sensing Jon's uncomfortableness with the subject.
"Who knows?" Sharpie said laughing and shaking his head.
"So no one important huh? We need to find him a girlfriend." I said laughing.
"We do!" Pat said laughing.
"Hey, now Peeks. You used to be like that too." Sharpie said winking. "If I remember correctly worse." He said grinning.
"Ehhh I'm glad that life is over." He said laughing. "And just because we didn't see you go through you're party phase doesn't mean you didn't have one." Pat said winking.
"Now. Now mine wasn't that bad. I had this little one by my side." He said pulling Abby in closer.
"Oh but we had fun though." Abby said smirking.
"I bet you did." I said laughing along with the guys. "Now back to Shawzy, that girl looks like something even old kaner over here wouldn't pick up. She seems too made up." I said shaking my head.
"What you mean the fake boobs? Blonde hair? Clothes?" Abby said laughing.
"Those were my first thoughts. Yes." I said laughing.
"You're wrong though. 5 years ago your Patrick would have totally slept with her. It's nice to see he's upped his standards."
"Really Patty? That?"
"Hey. I was going through the whole look at me I'm an 19 year old millionaire thing. I sure as hell wouldn't bring her to a public function looking like that though. I had standards, yes they might have been low but they were there." He said shrugging.
"Well it's all in the past." I said laughing. "You are a guy after all." I winked. "And here comes the man of the hour." I said nodding to Shawzy helping his woman of the day skate over to us. The parents had moved off into their own separate group minutes ago. Ellie and Brandon had also joined the group, as well as the rest of the team that was there. The blonde otherwise known as Bianca lived up to the dumb blond stereotype even if everyone could tell it wasn't her natural colour. In the few minutes after being introduced I could already tell she was clingy, a complainer, and just in it for the fame.
"So wait offside is when the puck crosses some line right?" Nope, that's not really it I thought to myself. We had honestly explained it twenty times already. When we weren't explaining hockey she managed to do the talking. We humoured her because to be honest a lot of people would kill to be where she is now.
"So wait. Andrew here is the only single one on the entire team?" She said making a face. She would ask about the other single guys with Shawzy right there. I thought mentally shaking my head and bitching the chick out of here.
"So why are you here? You don't have anyone's name on your jersey." The guys let out a few laughs, exchanging looks with Shawzy who shook his head subtly and rolled his eyes.
"I have my last name. Plus Pat and I over here have been together almost a year." I said shrugging. "Sorry what are you doing here again? I don't see a jersey to compare mine to." I retorted smiling.
"I forgot it." She said fake smiling. "I would have wore one of his jerseys." She said nodding to Pat. "I mean it's like you aren't even supporting him."
I rolled my eyes, and looked at the amused faces around the circle. Even Shawzy was getting a chuckle from it. "First off we support the entire team, secondly maybe you should look in a sports section before finding a pro athlete to sleep with hein?" I said smiling.
"Plus she'll have Kane on her jersey once she becomes one." Pat said shrugging. He got a few smacks on the back, I mouthed back a thank you and I love you before returning my attention back on the girl in front of me who was getting on my nerves.
"Supporting the team with your name, not even one of the player's numbers. It's kind of lame." Andrew face palmed as the guys laughed.
"Yah real lame." Jon muttered just loud enough to be heard receiving a chuckle from everyone. And here's her five minutes of fame I thought to myself as BHTV brought a camera out to catch some footage of the skate.
"Rach! You coming to answer some questions?" Tyler the cameraman called out.
"Yah man. Just me or do you want Kaner?"
Just you to start, superstar. Your boy gets too much attention on his own anyways." Ty said laughing.
"Ugh and I have to live up to that." I said laughing. The interview was pretty standard from my point of view. Just some hockey related questions and them welcoming me to the team. Then they set up the video camera to record the entirety of the skate, as well as set up for picture taking. I knew people would we asking questions by tomorrow anyways, so I wasn't too worried about the whole picture ordeal. We had a good twenty minutes before the guests' arrival so we were supposed to take a team picture. They called us over and organized us and snapped a few pictures of just the players. Then the significant others were invited into the picture. Everyone found their respective partner, El passed Bella back off to me before the picture was taken. One was taken with the parents and family members as well. The next picture was of the people who got the chance to come out today. Some had been invited due to things they had done around the community, and a few others had won promotional draws and contests over social media. Once the team picture taking was concluded we separated into 'family groups' and entertained the guests. The other wives with kids decided to get a photo of us together with our respective kids. Pat and I got a couple with each of our families and then one large group one. We also got pictures with Jonny and his family, as well as Amanda, Davy and Marie. We posed for and photo bombed a couple of the Sharp's photos. We had been whisked away to sign different things and take pictures with the people that had been invited out. They were all really nice and crazy excited to have the opportunity to hang out with us. Andrew's lady friend had shut up after realizing how stupid she looked in front of everyone. The glares I'd receive didn't go unnoticed, although I really didn't care.
"So Dyl have you got those autographs yet?" I said skating up to my brother who was talking with Seabs and Duncs.
"Nah. I figured you'd do it better than me anyways." I rolled my eyes and laughed at my brother. "Plus I want to see my niece." He said chuckling.
"You'd think she's cute or something. She's gotten a lot of attention today." I said laughing as he skated off with Bella. What a loser I though to myself, looking around for someone to skate with.
"It all makes sense now." Bianca said stopping beside me.
"What does." I said lacking any interest whatsoever.
"Why Patrick Kane would settle for someone like you." I looked at her with a face even I hadn't pulled in a while. "Do you really think you two would be together if it weren't for the kid?"
"I'd like to think so yes." I said humouring her.
"And seriously what's with crashing the player's picture. Getting the man not enough for you? Got to get the attention too?" I stared at her wide eyed. Who did she think she was? Honestly I didn't care what she was saying but really? Calling me the attention seeker?
"Sorry to take it off of you." I snapped back. "We all know that's the reason you are here. Now spare me the crap and let me get back to entertaining our guests."
"Our guests, cute really. I think the boys can handle that. Maybe you should just look after your kid." She sneered.
"She seems happy with Uncle Dyl, and Pat right now. I'm not worried."
"If you think he's going to stay with you, you're dead wrong. He could have anyone in the world why settle for one? He's a fun time though isn't he, good with the hands?" She said smirking. Before I could get a comeback out one of the younger boys who had won a contest on FB skated up to me. Actually his parents had but since he was the diehard fan they surprised him.
"Scuz' me miss. You're Rachel Carson aren't you?"
"Yup." I said smiling and crouching down to his height. "Now what can I do of you?" I asked.
"Can we please take a picture? Daddy has the camera!" He said beaming.
"Anything for a Hawks fan. Who's jersey are you wearing?"
"Your's duh! You're going to be the bestest player ever! And your a girl!" He exclaimed.
"Turn around let me see it…ah yup it is mine." I said laughing. "Stand still for a bit ok." I said grabbing the sharpie out of my jacket pocket.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm signing it of course." I said laughing. "Now this here is a special jersey, you take care of it. Actually go home and frame it, if my career goes as planned you have a very famous jersey on your hands. The first one ever signed." I said winking.
"REALLY? I'm the only one?" He said looking between his Dad and I.
"Yup. The one and only. Now for that photo." I said grinning.
"Thank you!" He exclaimed hugging my leg.
"No problem little bud. You still want that picture? I think this is a good pose." I said chuckling.
"Can you pick me up?" He said eyes wide.
"I think so. I am a hockey player after all. What kind of hockey player would I be if I couldn't pick you up?" I said laughing and swinging the boy up into my arms. "Now say cheese!" I had his dad take one with my phone as well, and afterwards we did a couple funny pictures.
"You made his year!" His dad said smiling at me as his son found the group of other hockey players and was showing everyone his newly signed jersey.
"My pleasure. I see he found my kid." I said laughing as Dyl leaned down to let the boy touch Bella.
"That explains it. You've got the motherly touch. Thanks again."
"Before you go. I've got a little something for you." I said reaching in my bag for the jersey I had packed for just one of these situations. I gave him the jersey and signed it as well. "Make sure he wears this one. No one cares as much about the second jersey signed." I said laughing. "Oh and can I chuck the picture up on Twitter? I get it if you don't want me to."
"Go ahead. It will make the rest of his life, plus he's already been on BHTV."
"Alright perfect. See you guys at the home opener. Come find me after the game."
"Thanks again for everything. He honestly loves you just because you are a girl playing professional hockey." He said laughing.
"Well on behalf of the team, thanks for coming out. And thanks for being fans." I said shaking his hand before he went to collect his son who was currently in the middle of a bunch of hockey players. I found the picture and uploaded it to twitter. "This little guy just became my number one fan. He currently owns the first signed Carson jersey. #whosnext #cute #familyskate. " I can say that was just what I needed at that instant. I was instantly happier, after that little visit. I had almost forgot Bianca was there. Almost. I glared at Andrew he got the point and skated over.
"She's gotta go." I whispered in his ear, before skating off back over to the guys and family.
"What was that about babe?" Pat asked as I took my spot at his side.
"Nothing. Really. Nothing." I said smiling softly.
"Good." He said quickly pecking my lips before joining his family, and I hung back with mine.
"So what's bugging you sis?" Scott asked bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Nothing. Sorry."
"Bull. Now what's up?" He said creating some space between us and the rest
"Ughh nothing important. Just stuff that slut said."
"You're taking her seriously?"
"Haha no, it's just weird. You don't think he's staying just because of his obligation to the kid? I mean she was right he could have anyone, anywhere, anytime."
"He could. But no he's head over heels for you. Plus it's not like the relationship was built on your pregnancy. You two weren't even together when you found out. Plus I've got to appreciate the man for showing up on our doorstep and fighting for you back. At that moment he didn't know about the kid, and even after he chose to stay. So my personal opinion tell that chick to shove her comment's back up her ass, because I have never seen a pair of people as in love as the two of you are." Scott said pulling me in for a hug.
"Thanks Scotty." I said hugging him back. After another good hour of socializing people started to disperse. Andrew had left already after the little stunt his 'friend' caused. Since everyone was staying for atleast the rest of the weekend we planned on having dinner just as previously planned but with the surprise addition of my family. We said our goodbyes, took pictures and signed autographs for all the people who had been invited out and then made our way home as our families headed back to their hotel. I was glad they were in the hotel I thought to myself after a very tired Bella was changed, fed and asleep in her cradle. Pat and I didn't go to sleep for a few more hours later, I think he enjoyed his thank you.
"Thanks again for today." I said looking up into his eyes. "I honestly didn't expect it. I know you're going to say it was no big deal, and I know it probably wasn't but just the fact that you thought to invite them, and actually got them here is amazing. I love you so much Pat I really do." I said leaning in to give him one more quick kiss before cuddling into the warmth of his body and falling asleep to the sound of his breathing beside me.
"I Love you too. And it really wasn't a big deal." He chuckled before following my lead and getting into a comfortable sleeping position.
