The One Night That Changed My Life Forever

New Additions

"Ahh… So exciting!" I said standing up from my seat.
"Why couldn't they have done this when I played here?" Pat asked chuckling.
"Stop complaining!" Jon said laughing.
"See Jonny, number one!" I said giving him a high five.
"They deserved it, played their butts off!" He said smiling.
"Mhmm they did play pretty well." I said looking at the mass of young men smiling and celebrating their win.
"Momma!" Bella said pointing.
"Ahah." I said chuckling as our faces appeared on the jumbotron. "Do you see yourself baby girl?" I asked waving Bella's small hand as she smiled, which got a chuckle out of the crowd causing Bella to in turn fall into her own fit of giggles.
"Dada." She said hitting Pat's arm so he'd turn around towards her.
"Mhmm?" He said smiling, looking up towards the jumbotron as Bella clapped, laughing.
"Well aren't you just the cutest thing ever." Pat said chuckling, giving the crowd a slight wave. Eventually the picture flicked back to the celebrating players on the ice.
"We might be here a while." I said chuckling, looking at all the people, how should I say "sneaking" a peek in our direction.
"Haha, probably." Pat said chuckling.
"Boys, you staying for this, or heading out?" I asked my brothers.
"Haha, as much as we'd love to be swarmed by fans. I atleast have a plane to catch." Scott said chuckling.
"Mhmm, me too." Dyl said chuckling. "But mines not till later, so I can chill for a bit."
"Aww Scotty, I'm going to miss you." I said hugging him goodbye.
"You too sis, you too." He said laughing. "You'd best be winning that Stanley." He said smiling.
"I'll be trying, that's for sure." I said chuckling. "Say bye to Uncle Scotty Bells."
"Bye cutie." He said waving his hand. "Bye boys, little Patrick." He said ruffling the sleeping Pat's head.
"See ya." Jon said nodding.
"See you soon." Pat said as they exchanged an awkward one handed man hug. Scott then continued, saying goodbye to our parents, before escaping the craziness of the Memorial Cup being given out.
"You going to go get your picture taken with the cup?" Jon said laughing.
"I just might." He said shrugging.
"Don't worry, I will too." I said chuckling. "Jonny's just trying to be mean." I said laughing.
"Okay, Okay. I'll stop." Jon said laughing.
"You talked to Amanda lately? Things all good?" I asked.
"Yeah, we're all good. We talked it out for a bit when we got home from Florida."
"I'm glad." I said smiling. Our conversation died down after a few minutes of talking about nothing. We all did go get pictures with the cup: congratulating the boys on their great win.
"Well this was a fun weekend." Jon said smiling, after we had escaped the madness of autographs and picture taking.
"That was the first time I've witnessed so many fans since the accident." I said chuckling. "Im glad. You needed to get away."
"And you take way too good care of me." He said laughing. "But thank you."
"It's no problem." I said waving him off. "We'd best be getting back to the airport. Our flight is pretty soon."
"You are probably right." Pat said chuckling as he checked his phone. "Are the kids staying here or coming home?"
"Haha. Well as much as my mom probably wants to keep them, they are coming back." I said laughing. After a good struggle, we managed to get the kids back and say goodbye, before heading off to the airport and back to Chicago.
**
"Alright, so we have this meeting and then im going to look after the kids."
"If thats good with you, then yes." Pat said smiling.
"I should be able to manage." I said chuckling.
"Mmmmm. Thanks babe." He said quickly pecking my lips before going to get changed. I changed quickly into something a bit more presentable than jeans.
"Aren't you three just the cutest." I said laughing as Pat cam walking up with mini me in his arms and Bella giggling in behind him. "They coming with us?" I said chuckling.
"Yeah." Pat said laughing.
"Alright then. Lets get this meeting over with, so you can go see your friends," I said resting Bella on my hip, before heading towards the door.
"Has anyone ever told you how sexy you look holding our children?"
"Mmm. Maybe once or twice." I said shrugging. " Not sure i believe it but…"
"You better damn well believe it." He said snaking an arm around my waist, keeping me close as we walked down to wards the elevator, and then out to then car.
"Mmmm. So sexy." He said giving me a quick kiss as we crossed paths back to our respective sides of the car.
"Haha, thanks." I said chuckling. "Lets make it through the day before we even start thinking that way." I said giving him a wink and settling into my seat.
"Ugh, fine." He whined before laughing and pulling out of the garage.
"This isn't the daycare!" Jon said shaking his head before welcoming us in.
"We'll be saying the same things in months Captain." Patrick said winking. "Only you have a few months to get acquainted during the offseason."
"Alright boys, and Rachel its crunch time. Playoffs start tomorrow. We may have ended up in first but that means nothing now, as most of you are aware. The playoffs is a whole new season. Only the best will come out on top. A lot of you have been fortunate to witness that said experience 1, if not 2 or even 3 times throughout your careers. Lets win it this year for those still awaiting that amazing experience of being on top. That being said, we aren't perfect. Teams will play us hard. No one wants to see a fourth cup go to Chicago again, but you know what guys? I've seen you guys work your butts off this past season, so much so that I honestly believe that Cup belongs back in Chicago this year. Judging by the looks on your faces you all feel similar. Its not going to be easy. Its honestly going to be the hardest, fastest hockey that many of you will have ever played. But I believe in you guys. Talent can only get you so far, but the drive and determination you have as a team, and that familial bond can take you all the way. You can achieve anything if you believe, the question is: do you believe?"
"Hell yes!" A bunch of yes' chorused around the locker room.
"Then I'll see you guys bright and early tomorrow for morning skate. Lets win that cup again."
"Amen to that! Im still waiting for my first win" I said faux pouting.
"We'll get it." Pat said nodding. "We've got this." He said ruffling my hair. "Alright I'm going to jet, you're all good to get home?"
"Yeah, I'll be good. See you tonight." I said giving him a quick kiss and then making my way back to the apartment, two kids in hand.
"I wonder who that is?" I said to myself after settling onto the couch after successfully putting the kids down for a nap. I was not expecting to come face to face with Patrick. But this was no ordinary Pat, no this was a shrunken 5ish year old version of him. The curly hair and everything. Same eyes, goofy grin. "Hello."
"Hi, my mommy told me to give you this." He said handing me an envelope. "She said you would let me in." He said pointing at the door.
"Uh-Sorry where are my manners. Come on in." He made himself at home, settling down in front of the TV, figuring out how to change it to cartoons in less than a minute. I took this opportunity to look at the contents of the envelope. I skimmed over the note figuring it was more so for Patrick. Shit! I thought to myself as I found myself looking at birth certificates, health records…
"I'm Rachel, you must be Sam." I said waving towards the boy.
"Yup, that's me."
"Alright Im just going to be down the hall, come find me when you need something okay. Im always here." I said, registering his head nod before turning back towards our room. I curled in a ball, sure I was a little emotional, even a bit over dramatic, but hey I was going through shock, atleast I think I was. Patrick has another kid, and its not mine.
"It's fine. It's all going to be fine." I said finally calmed down. "He's not physically mine, but I have a feeling he's going to be soon enough." I thought. If I know Patrick even a little bit, I know there is no way he is going to miss anymore than the first five years of his son's life.
**
"Sweetie. Have you been crying?" Donna cooed over the screen.
"It's okay." I said forcing a smile.
"Honey, I know that isn't true. You called for a reason. My son didn't do anything stupid did he?"
"Not really. But its not really my place to talk about it."
"You can tell me anything."
"I can't even explain this one…" I said trailing off.
"If my son hurt you I would rather know then have you protecting him."
"I--He didn't mean to hurt me. I mean he didn't physically hurt me. I guess I'm just in shock. It's in the past, but it's still a lot."
"This isn't about the whole cheating scandal is it? Because he didn't ."
"No. It's not that, something else entirely. But if you don't mind me asking: did he have any serious relationships before me, and Megan?"
"Hmm, well… there was one "serious" one, her name was Kendra, why?" So K for Kendra I assumed.
"So were they serious enough to get married and have children?"
"Oh, heaven's no. They were both too young. Actually had a pregnancy scare. That was the end of that relationship. She moved away, Pat focused on his hockey, and in the end he found you, and here we are.
"Here we are."
"Sweetie, why are you asking?"
"Mmmm. Well something got dropped off for Patrick and I today, with a note signed with a K and well Kendra makes sense.
"She sent you something?" Donna asked curiously.
"A pretty big something, yes."
"That's weird I haven't seen or heard from her in almost 6 years."
"I think there was a reason for that."
"She tell you that reason?"
"Didn't have to, I can see it right in front of me." Donna looked confused, so I beckoned Sam over from Bella and her toys.
"Say hi to Donna. She's your Grandma." I whispered watching his eyes light up, before he moved in front of the screen.
"Hi Grandma Donna. I'm Sam, nice to meet you."
"Hi Sam. Nice to meet you too." She said smiling before making eye contact with me. I nodded.
"Okay Sam. Me and mom are going to talk for a bit. We'll head up there for a vacation so you can really meet your Grandma, Grandpa and Aunts alright."
"Okay! Bye Donna." He said going right back to his toys.
"So…."
"So that's Sam. I'm guessing thats the reason why Kendra axed you guys from her life." I said shrugging.
"I'm so sorry sweetheart."
"I'm not mad, or sad. It's just going to take some getting used to is all."
"He loves you okay. Don't forget that."
"i know Donna." I said smiling. "I'm not going to leave him over past mistakes. I mad some of my own so I can't hold it against him."
"Does he know?"
"Not yet. It's only been like an hour. He's out with friends."
"What are you going to do with him?"
"Well the documents she attached in the note, and their physical resemblance makes me believe her story. Secondly we'd probably need to go over the paperworks with a lawyer. Then I se no reason we can't keep him." I said shrugging.
"You'd be willing to do that, just like that?"
"Well, I'm not going to be selfish and say that Patrick can't care for his child. Every child deserves a father, and every father deserves the chance to know and love their son. I've come to know over this year that if I was in the same predicament Patrick would likely do the same for me. As for Sam, he may not be a part of me, but he is a part of Patrick. The same Pat I married. You accept someone for their past, their present and their future when you take those vows, and even when I was younger I knew I would take marriage seriously. Plus he seems like a cool kid, goofy like Pat."
"Goodness, just what this world needs." She said chuckling.
"I'll try my best to tame him down a bit."
"Thank you." She said laughing. "Though his dad did finally manage to find the right girl eventually." She said winking.
"Why thank you." I said laughing. "Well I'd better get back to the children. We will definitely have to make a trip up soon."
"Alright. Stay strong sweetheart. I love you."
"Love you too, I think, I mean I don't remember but I think I know you enough to say I love you. Gahh you know what I mean." I said laughing awkwardly.
"I do. Bye Rach." She said chuckling.
"Bye." Reminder to self, tell her son I loved him too.
**
"Okay, you kids be good for Auntie El." I said kissing Bella and mini me goodbye.
"Alright Sam, ready to go?" He nodded his head expectantly. "Thanks El." I said as she nodded understandingly, as we left the apartment.
"You don't have to pay to go in?" He said as I opened the player's door to the UC.
"Nope. We are special today."
"Really? Wow!" He said eyes widening. "They are my favourite team"
"Who's your favourite player?"
"88."
"Makes sense."
"Yeah, cause my other mommy said I look like him."
"You do look like him." I said ruffling the small boy's curly hair. How someone could give up on their kid was beyond me.
"Alright. No running. Where do you want to see first?"
"Can we go see the ice?"
"Yup." I said chuckling. It is impossible to hate a kid this adorable, even if not mine.
"Wow. That's big new momma."
"Momma?" I said half in shock at the kid before me.
"Yeah." He said nodding enthusiastically. "My old momma said that sometimes mommas change, and that I need to be happy with you and dada. You are a nice momma!"
"I'll try and be a good momma okay, but don't forget your other momma okay."
"I can have two Momma's?"
"Mhmmmm." I said nodding.
"Does my other momma not like me?"
"No, no sweetheart your momma loves you, that's why she left you with us."
"So that dad can love me too?"
"Yes. Your dad will love you very much." I said squeezing his small shoulder. "Want to try it out?" I said pointing at the ice.
"You can teach me?" He asked surprised.
"Yup." I said chuckling at his expression.
"Okay!" He said nodding. One nice thing about being a hawk means access to skates in almost every size, which i was grateful for today as I tied Sam's skates after doing my own.
"Okay buddy, you're all set. I want you to wear this helmet though, just incase."
"Yay!" He said clapping as we made our way to the ice.
"You be careful." I said chuckling as he tested out his skates.
"This is fun!" He said clapping even more.
"Hahaha. I'm glad you enjoy it." I said chuckling.
"Can you skate me around fast? Please?"
"Sure thing buddy." I said laughing, scooping him up from behind and starting forward.
"Well, well, well who do we have here? Practicing on our last off day non the less. Where's your husband, and who might we have here?" Jon asked as he sat on the bench beside us.
"He's out with friends, and this is Samuel." I said hopping him up on my lap. "Say hi Sam. This is Jonny."
"I know who he is silly. He's captain. Hi there." I laughed at Jon's mangled up face, analyzing Sam, before I elbowed him.
"S-Sorry. Hi Sam." He said plastering a smile on his face.
"Hi." Sam said beaming. Jon's eyes met mine with a questioning look, to which I just nodded.
"How." He mouthed.
"Kendra." I mouthed back, to which his eyes widened face turning into a scowl.
"Alrighty Sam, do you want to continue our tour?"
"Can he come with us?" an excited 5 year old said pointing towards Jon.
"Sure buddy."
"Yay!"
"Okay, so we'll go see the locker room?"
"Yes, please!"
"Alright now go look around, but don't step on the Indian in the middle okay." I said pointing to the logo. "Jon and I will just be out here, okay."
"Okay." He said before running into the room.
"Shit." Jon exclaimed, as the door closed.
"It will be okay." I said smiling softly.
"You're not mad?"
"What good would it do for me to be mad? I can't hate him for his past." I said shrugging. "The thing is that I could have a kid roughly this age too, if it had survived. What I'm saying is that yes its a little blow to my heart, but its happened and now we, even you have to be accepting of it. I mean he's cute." I said laughing.
"God, Rach does anything phase you?"
"Goodness you should have seen me a couple hours ago. I bet Donna really enjoyed that skype call." I said chuckling. "She pretty much reassured me that Pat loves me, which I know, and made me realize how fucked both of our lives were and that I can't hold the past against him." I said shrugging.
"I guess." He said shrugging. "Does he know?"
"Pat. No not yet. Neither does Sam. I don't know what to do." I said throwing my hands in the air.
"Momma….can I have a Kane jersey?" Jon raised his eyebrows, and I just shrugged returning my attention on Sam.
"Sure thing. Lets go down to the store. We'll get a jersey then go home and show dad okay?"
"Okay!"
"Then say bye to Jonny, okay buddy."
"Bye captain of my favourite team." He said smiling and waving before turning towards the door.
"Bye Jonny. We'll talk more later okay." I said smiling before jogging out to catch up to the newest addition in my life.
"You've got to stick with me okay Sam?"
"Sorry." He said sadly.
"Hey, hey it's okay buddy. It's just a big city alright. Lots of scary people."
"Okay." He said nodding.
"Alright then. You ready to head out?" I said opening the door to my backseat.
"Yeah!" He said excitedly, and with that I smiled and continued on to the Blackhawks store. Here I disguised myself quite a bit more, and we came in the back entrance.
"Alright you go pick out everything you want. Sandra is going to help you okay." I said keeling down to his level.
"Why not you?"
"I'll explain it to you later. Plus Sandra is way better its her job."
"Okay." He said smiling before calling out for Sandra.
"How much is enough?" Sandra asked hands already full of stuff.
"Haha here give me that, I'll organize it. He should get tired of it after a while."
"I hope." She said chuckling before returning to Sam. Half an hour later my pocket was a bit lighter, the SUV filled with bags, and there was a sleeping child in the backseat. I carried Sam in my arms as well as the bag containing his bear, blanket and jersey.
"Long day?" Ellie asked as I plopped myself down on the couch.
"Very. We had the meeting, then Sam showed up, then I turned emotional, then I accepted it and moved on, then we went skating, and last but not least raided the Hawks store for over $1000 worth of Hawks gear." I said laughing.
"Well I have great news for you then. Abby just stopped by and stole your kids for a play date. A sleep over play date."
"Even Mini Me?"
"Yeah, she's crazy." El said laughing.
"She is, but I'll have to call her and thank her."
"Alright so Im going to get out of here, you get some sleep, big games start tomorrow."
"Thanks." I said giving her a hug. Once she was gone I called Abby and thanked her immensely for relieving me of the kids. Her excuse being she wanted both Patrick and I in tiptop shape for tomorrow's game. I hung up the phone and stretched out on the couch and fell asleep.
***********************************
Pat's POV
The house was dead silent, as I walked in and took my boots off. I saw Rach asleep on the couch, and decided to leave her sleeping. I put my phone on the charger, as it had died earlier on during the day.
"Shit!" I exclaimed as a bunch of missed calls popped up on my screen, as well as a large amount of texts.
""Sorry Mom! I know, I know. My phone died. Whats up?"
"Where am I? I'm home why?"
"Yes, she's sleeping."
"Mom! I'm not waking her up, I'll talk to her later okay."
"Give me a sec, I think someone else is here." I said taking the phone in my hand and walking out to the living room.
"Mom, I gotta go." I rushed out before hanging up, and staring in front of me.
"Uhhh…"
"I'm hungry." "Patrick…." He said tugging my pant leg.
"My goodness, get the kid some food." Rach said bringing me out of my trance.
"I-I." I said not quite able to fathom the scene unfolding in front of me.
"Come on." Rach said putting her arm around me and leading me into the bedroom. "It's okay. You're going to be alright." With that she left me to my thoughts, and what thoughts they were. I just don't understand. I mean I understand, but I don't.
"Mom." I heard her sigh on the other side. "Am I dreaming?"
"I don't think so sweetheart. He seems pretty real to me."
"B-but how?"
"I hope you don't mean that literally." My mom said chuckling.
"Glad you find this amusing."
"Sweetie, Im just as shocked as you believe me, but what can we do? We can't go back in the past and change it. Now it's your turn to make a decision: whether or not you are gong to accept him into your life, and what you are going to do about it. I'm not the one that you honestly need to be talking to."
"It was Kendra wasn't it? That's why she left."
"I think so."
"I just don't understand how she could go this long without telling me, and now to just leave him here."
"Patrick stop. I get it your hurting, but be honest with me were you ready to take care of a kid at the rookie stage of your career? I believe she thought she was doing what was best for you. I mean look at your life now. You have an amazing wife, who by the way loves you so much that she has already made a spot for your son in her heart, you have two kids together, why not a third? You've been so successful in your career. Does that mean that I agree that she kept your son from you for this long? No, of course not. But the way I see it is that now you are settled, you have a much better environment to raise him properly. Obviously Kendra did want you in his life, she even believes you can offer him a better one. She let you have the life you wanted. She knew you wouldn't be happy being forced into the fatherly role that early in life. Of course you would have learned to love each other, because that's how we raised you. You have a heart Patrick, even back then and you would have made it work for the kid, and thats what she realized. I get it you've missed what 5, 6 years of his life, so make these next ones count. Most importantly love him as he deserves to be loved. Just because he wasn't planned, and is not Rachel's son, he is yours and you need to accept him as such. Make sure you tell your wife how much you love her, and that you are sorry."
"How are we going to make it through this mom? I have a kid with another woman."
"And she understands that Patrick. Seriously go talk to her. Did she leave? Did she yell and scream at you? She might be a little more understanding then you're giving her credit for."
"I'll talk to her."
"Good. Now get off this phone and go fix this."
"Im sorry mom."
"Patrick Im not mad at you, your dad is not mad at you, no one is mad at you. You are mad at yourself."
"Rach will be mad."
"I don't think so. Shocked, you're damn right she is, but mad no."
"Okay, okay. Im going." I said bye and hung up the phone. GAHHHH why am I such a fuck up!
"…love him as he deserves to be loved….you are sorry."

"Okay." I said sike-ing myself up before opening the door, back into the real world.
"You'll always love me right? Even if daddy hates me."

"Awwe of course buddy. But your daddy doesn't hate you he's just in shock."

"Why?"

"Because your mommy had you for 5 years without telling your daddy about you. But he is very very excited to meet you!"

"Is he really my daddy? My favourite player?"

"He sure is sweetie. See these curls, you get those from him. Your eyes are blue like his too. And you are a great skater, you're going to be a star just like your daddy!" I chuckled at that, just what the world needed another Patrick Kane.
"Really Momma? Whoa wait Momma? When did that happen?
"Yup a big star."

"So someday I can wear number 88?"

"If you put your mind to it, then yes."

"Yay!!!!!"

"Want to go get the rest of the stuff from the car that we bought today? Then we can eat dinner okay?"

"Can we have pizza and ice cream?"

"That's not very healthy for a future hockey star… but since it's your first day here I think we can make it work. That is if you eat your veggies…without complaining."

"Okay! Let's go!"

"Let's go." I heard laughing and the door closing.
"Fuck." I exclaimed. I don't even know where to start, I thought shaking my head. Well getting pizza is a start I guess, I thought as I pulled out the delivery menu. "Well what kind does he like?" I ordered one of every kind, voila problem solved. Now for ice cream, maybe we could walk and get some… Shit I don't know anything about him. I don't know his first word, what makes him happy, what makes him sad, his favourite colour, where he lived, went to school, hell I don't even know his middle name. "Veggies" I exclaimed, remembering that he had to eat his vegetables. I was in the middle of cutting some peppers when I heard the door open. This is it, I thought to myself as I heard them come in and shut the door.
"Momma. There's someone at the door." Wow the pizza got here in 20 minutes, not bad I thought to myself.
"Uhhhhh, Patrick did you order enough Pizza?"
I shrugged making my way out towards the door. "How was I supposed to know what he likes." I whispered, taking the boxes and setting them on the table. "Here you go, keep the change, have a good night." I said to the delivery man.
"Dad! I can't eat all this there's like 10 boxes."
"12, and I know, we can keep some for later."
"Thanks!" He said clapping. "I want one of each!"
"Start with 3 okay, then we'll see if you want more."
"Can we open them all so I can pick which ones?"
"Sure thing buddy. But what was the rule? Before having pizza and ice cream?"
"Veeeeeegieees. I can't complain but I want to." I chuckled.
"Well the only reason I'm good at hockey is because my parents forced me to eat my veggies."
"I never had to before, but I do want to be a good hockey player so I guess I can eat some."
"They are on the table, put some on your plate for us to see and then once you've eaten enough you can have the pizza okay."
"Good enough?" He exclaimed running back into the room, huge smile on his face and a plate with way more veggies than i would have eaten as a kid and been happy about.
"Mmmm. Let me see that." I said snatching a pepper off his plate. "Yup all good." I said as he smiled up at me before sitting down at the table scarfing down veggie after veggie.
"I'm sorry." I whispered over to Rachel, who looked from me to Sam with understanding, soft eyes.
"Mmmmm."
"Are you mad at me?" I asked nervously,
"No." She said shaking her head.
"Why not?" I asked not understanding how she was calmer than me.
"Because I understand. I was younger once too remember. I made mistakes a lot like you."
"But not like this. I mean I can't call it a mistake but…."
"Actually…." She said not looking up.
"Holy shit no way!" I whisper shouted. "Here I was worried, and you have a kid?" I said questioning.
"Had."
"What do you mean had?"
"It died."
"Di-ed?"
"Yes Patrick like died, D-I-E-D, well actually it was never born so technically it couldn't have died."
"Holy shit. I'm sorry I didn't know."
"It's fine. I'm guessing I didn't talk about it obviously."
"No you didn't, but I'm still sorry." I said giving her a hug and kissing her forehead.
"Okay subject change." She said sadly. "So neither of us are mad?"
"How can I be? And if your not then I guess so."
"Alright." She said giving me a peck on the lips. I pulled her in for more, flicking my eyes over to Sam momentarily before returning my focus on my beautiful wife.
"All done." Sam exclaimed.
"Do you have room for Ice cream, or can we save it for tomorrow night?"
"Well I'm full right now. If we go tomorrow can I have like 3 big scoops?"
"Haha, we'll see. How about we get you into bed?"
"Fiiiiine." 25 minutes later Sam was successfully in bed. Rach and I ate some pizza, not saying much but enjoying each other's company.
"So how are we going to wrap all this up?" Rach asked looking at the 10 full boxes of pizza left.
"Well make up a box of the slices we want to keep, then I'll take the rest down to the shelter down the road."
"Okay." She said with a smile. Not ten minutes later, I was walking into the shelter with 8 boxes full of pizza.
"Mister, is that pizza for me?" I felt a slight tug on my pants. I set the boxes down and picked up the little girl.
"Yup." I said grinning. "What kind would you like?"
"Pepperoni!"
"Yeah? I think I have pepperoni. Are you going to help me find the person in charge so we can heat them up and put them on plates?"
"That's her." She said pointing to the woman striding towards me.
"Sarah, I see you've made a friend."
"Yeah! And he has pizza!" She exclaimed. "Pepperoni too!"
"Hi, Im Claire. Patrick I presume?" She said shaking my hand.
"Yeah, well we just had some extra pizza from tonight so I figured why not bring it over. All it needs is a little warming up and its good to go."
"Thank you." She said smiling. "Now Sarah let Mister Patrick go."
"I dont wanna."
"I'll come back I promise."
"Yeah?"
"Mhmm. I promise"
"Okay! she said jumping off me. Come back soon." She said waving, before divulging her attention onto the pizza boxes.
*

"Mhmm. Yes I'm ready for bed." I said chuckling as Rach and I got up from the couch. We both stopped in Sam's "room" . The sight almost brought me to tears, watching him sleep…"Rach squeezed my hand muttering what I think was I love you, but I couldn't be certain as she still hadn't been comfortable saying it yet. With that I squeezed her hand back, and with a small smile we both headed of and got changed and into bed, as to prepare ourselves for the day ahead.

Great job

Amazing job. Wasn't expecting him to have another kid from a different relationship in this story. Kudos for them for not resenting each other or the kid though. Great job
