The Diary of an Unintentional Puck Slut

Dear Diary,

I have been in Raleigh for four days and still have not found somewhere to live. I am in a hotel currently, which is nice, but I can’t afford to live here for much longer.

The Cane’s are on a road trip and won’t be back for a few days, so I haven’t met any of them.

I met with the ice girls the day after I got here. They are much nicer than the Blackhawk’s ice girls, but they somehow suck more at skating than them. I guess girls don’t skate as much this far south, though North Carolina isn’t even that far south.

One girl, Zoe, has been particularly nice to me. We haven’t hung out together outside of practice, but she always talks to me as we put our skates on. I have a feeling the rest of the girls are a little afraid of me. I think they know I got kicked out of Chicago for attacking someone, and it appears that everyone knows I punched Caeleigh. I guess I have a bit of a bad reputation.

Brandon was really excited that I got sent to the Hurricanes. He gave me a list of places I should check out and said he would try to find me a place to stay.

Until then, I have a lot of schoolwork. I have been taking my classes online, which is actually harder than taking normal classes. I guess professors want to make sure we are actually reading and not just looking everything up on spark notes. Not that there are even spark notes for the stuff we’re reading, it’s so obscure. (I sound like a hipster).

Hopefully I can find somewhere to live soon.

Dear Diary,

Brandon found me a place to stay! It’s not what I was expecting, but apparently Eric Staal offered to let me stay at his house with him. And his family.

I thought it was going to be awkward, because we slept together, but his wife is actually really nice. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t know about what happened, because if she did she would probably be murdering me right now.
Eric’s two boys are so cute. Remember how I said I didn’t like kids that much? I think being pregnant has changed that. They are so adorable and cute and happy! I am actually looking forward to having my own, in like three months. (aaaaa!!!) That still terrifies me. Especially not knowing who I am having them with. I am really reconsidering the paternity test.

Mrs. Staal came with me to my first doctor’s appointment with my new doctor, who had been her doctor when she was pregnant. It went really well. I would have asked about that paternity test if she wasn’t there. I don’t think I know her well enough yet to talk about all of that.

She and I went shopping with the other Mrs. Staal (Jordan’s wife) to buy maternity clothes for me. They are both so nice, I really think I’m going to like it here. They have even invited me to be an ‘honorary wag’ because even though I’m not dating a Cane, I’m still qualified because I’m Sidney Crosby’s girlfriend. (Sort of).

Things between Sid and I have continued to dwindle. I think the only reason he hasn’t completely cut me off is because we might be having children together. I hope that if they are both his we can fix things. He will be such a great dad and I really want to be part of that.

I got to skate at probably one of my last games of the season tonight. Hurricanes fans are much nicer than Blackhawks fans. There were no hate signs or booing. Or maybe they all knew I’m pregnant. It’s getting much harder to hide.

When I saw the guys at practice for the first time I remembered how cute Jeff Skinner is. Every time he smiles that damn dimple on his right cheek makes me cry a little on the inside. He skated over to me, smiling like an adorable puppy, and sat down next to me on the bench.

“Did you bring that grouchy cat with you?” he asked, still smiling.

“No, she’s still with Brandon,” I replied, remembering that Pancake had scratched him when he visited.

“That’s good,” he paused. “You know, I used to figure skate before I got into hockey.”

“Really? I didn’t know that,” I smiled at the thought of him skating.

“Yeah, I won a bronze medal in the Canadian Junior National Figure Skating Championship in 2004,” he said, still smiling.

“Wow, Jeffeyskins, I am going to have to figure skate with you sometime,” I said, actually impressed. I had never skated competitively, but if I had I probably would not have won any medals.

“Maybe, I don’t know, I haven’t done that in a while.”

“I can’t skate that much longer, so we’d better do it soon.”

“Oh, because you’re,” he gestured to my stomach as if he couldn’t say ‘pregnant.’

“Yeah.”

“You and Sid must be so happy. Why are you not up in Pittsburgh with him?” If he hadn’t looked so cute I might not have told him, but I did.

“Things aren’t so great right now. There is a slight chance Sid’s not the father, and he’s really upset about that.”

He looked shocked, but he was still smiling. “What? How could you cheat on him, he’s Sidney Crosby?”

“I didn’t, we weren’t dating when I got pregnant.” His cuteness and innocence was making me feel guilty.

“What? So who did you sleep with?”

“Can you promise not to tell anyone?”

He took his hand out of his glove and help up his pinky, “I pinky swear.”

“I don’t think I’ve done this since I was 13,” I laughed as we pinky sweared. “Brandon Sutter.”

“You slept with Suttsy?” He looked shocked.

“Shh, yes don’t tell anyone though,” I replied looking around to make sure no one had heard him.

“Is that why he and his girlfriend broke up?”

“No, she was cheating on him.”

“What?!” He looked so cute and surprised and adorable!

“I just want to hug you, all the time, you are so cute!”

He didn’t know what to say. “I, um, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay! But we need to skate together some time.”

“Yeah, maybe,” he said as he left to join the other guys for practice.

Oh Jeffyskins!

I’m going to have a lot of fun with him.
