The Diary of an Unintentional Puck Slut

September 8 2013

Sept. 8, 2013

Dear Diary,

Seeing Brandon the next day at Consol was not as awkward as I thought it would be. After Thursday night’s kiss I wanted to get some kind of clarification on what exactly that was, but I couldn’t ask him with Sid around. Sid and I were becoming friends pretty quickly and I didn’t want to ruin it. As I was trying to think of a way to get Brandon alone so I could ask him what the hell was going on, he pulled me around a corner and into a closet.

“Hey,” he said with a smile. I took a step back from him and smashed into some hockey sticks.

“Whoa there, shh,” he said laughing as he helped me pick them up. “We should probably be quiet,” he added pulling me closer to him so I wouldn’t knock anything else over.

Looking up I realized how much taller than me he was, almost a foot maybe.
“You’re tall.” I said stupidly with a smile. (I’m such an idiot)

He laughed, “And you’re kind of short,” he smiled and patted me on the top of my head, which came up to the middle of his chest.

“I guess Pancake didn’t kill you last night?” I didn’t see any scratches or bite marks.

“No she was great, still kind of shy, but I left food out for her in case she came out of hiding.” He looked like he wanted to say something but stopped.

After a short pause, I asked him why we were having a perfectly normal conversation in a closet.
He laughed and then said a little more seriously, “because,” he paused to brush a stray hair out of my face.

“Because you kissed me?” I finished his question for him.
I really wanted to know what he had to say about that. I hadn’t told Caeleigh so I didn’t have her girly insight and Carli would have freaked out.

He looked down and away, as if he was embarrassed about it, or ashamed?

“Yeah,” he said finally looking into my eyes. I think his eyes are hazel. It was kind of hard to tell in that light, but they weren’t brown, like Sid’s, but there were tones of green and grey that mixed to make a soft, warm color.

“We don’t have to talk about that, or whatever it was….” I trailed off, hoping he would ignore me.

“I’m not really sure why I did that,” he ran his hands through his hair (which was a lot lighter than I thought it should be, I feel like he should have darker hair to match his darker complexion).
“That’s okay,” I took a step closer and looked up at him. Somehow him being awkward/uncomfortable made him really cute and adorable.

“It’s just that I have-” He was cut off when Dana Heinze (equipment manager) opened the door. I immediately stepped away from Brandon, knocking over more hockey sticks.

“Please be careful!” Dana jumped forward to grab the falling sticks. “And what are you two doing in the supply closet? Do I need to talk to Dan?”

“We were just checking out my new glow in the dark watch.” Brandon said smiling. “Turns out it’s not glow in the dark, it’s just a watch.” Brandon and I both laughed as we slipped past Dana.

We quickly parted ways in the hallway when I saw Sid (I don’t think he saw Brandon and I together).
“Hey I’ve been looking for you,” he said with a smile.

“Uh oh, am I in trouble?” I asked with a fake pout.

“A lot of my furniture is getting delivered this afternoon and I would like your input on where stuff should go.”

“You want me to move furniture?” I said looking doubtful. “I weigh 115 lbs and I’m kind of short, if you hadn’t noticed.”

Sid laughed, “no, I just want you to tell the movers where to put the furniture. Besides,” he added smiling, “I know a bunch of hockey players that could help me move furniture.”

I sort of liked the idea of me ordering the guys around telling them where to put furniture, getting mad at Nealer for not using a coaster on Sid’s new coffee table, getting taller players like Bortz or Simon to help me hang pictures.

Sid broke me out of my daydreaming when he asked if I’d like a ride to his house after practice.
“Yes. Actually I’d like a car so I don’t have to get rides from people like some kid.” I was (half) joking about the last part, but Sid looked very serious.

“Really? What kind of car would you want?”

“Something cute, like a bug, or a mini,” I thought about it for a minute as we walked to his car, “Actually I really like the new beetle. Maybe in yellow, or pink?” I smiled like a little girl as I thought about driving a pink bug.

He laughed, “I could definitely see you driving a pink bug.”

He was quiet as we drove to his house. I was very excited about the new furniture, I felt like a little kid on Christmas.

“Hey, can I ask you something?” He said turning to me. “Don’t take this the wrong way, just hear me out.”

Was this about Brandon? “Okay.”

“I know you’re looking for a place to stay, somewhere quieter than the Woodcombs,” He paused, “And I was wondering if you would want to stay with me? I have a lot of extra rooms and, it’s pretty quiet there all by myself.”

I as actually shocked he said that. Sid is such a private person and he has all of these weird superstitions and pregame rituals, that inviting someone he has known for a few weeks into his house seemed… absurd?

“Wow, that is really kind of you,” I said with genuine surprise. “You would let me live in your house? Like, we’d be housemates or something?”

“Yeah, housemates,” He laughed, “It’s not like we’re moving in together, you’d just be living in my house.”

I thought about it, and I couldn’t find (and still can’t) anything wrong with that. “Yeah, why not? I have absolutely no money to live anywhere on my own. Would you want me to like, pay rent or something?”

Sid laughed and looked at me like ‘I’m the richest hockey player in the NHL’ and added “you don’t need to pay rent.”

“I would feel bad living in your house free of cost.” I said already feeling guilty. “At least let me do your laundry or something. I like laundry.”

“You want to do my laundry?” Sid laughed incredulously, “You can do my laundry if you want to.”

“Hey,” I stated with an air of defensiveness, “I lived with three hockey players my last year of college and I did all of the cleaning, I made them dinner, and I did their laundry. And I ironed too.” I added smugly.

“You iron? Wow, you’re like the perfect 1950’s housewife.” Sid added laughing.

I laughed, but it was true. I would be the perfect housewife, except for the ‘wife’ part. I’m trying to stay away from that kind of thing. Any relationship, except friends, is off limits for me. Unfortunately, my brain and my heart are not in this together. Just when I want to try being single for a while, I find myself flirting (for the first time in my life) with hot guys (that I probably shouldn’t even be talking to). Why do I do this to myself?

Moving Sid’s furniture in was really fun, but we didn’t get everything where it belonged by the time the movers had to leave. I made dinner for Sid and I and then he brought me home to pack my stuff. The Woodcombs were sad I was leaving, and a little surprised when I told them I was going to be living at Sidney Crosby’s house.

Sid picked me up Saturday morning and was surprised at how few belongings I had.
“I have never met a girl with so few clothes!” He smiled in genuine disbelief.

“I left New Hampshire in a hurry and I left behind a lot of my old clothes from high school and college that I don’t really need any more. However,” I added with a smile, “now that I have such a huge closet, I might have to do some shopping.”

“I actually think you might need to go shopping.” Sid said laughing. “But maybe that’s something you and Caeleigh could do, I’m not big on clothes shopping.”

“I don’t think you’d be very helpful.” I said with a smile.

As we pulled into Sid’s driveway I saw a couple of cars parked in front of his house. “I invited Kuni, Duper, and Flower over to help move the rest of the furniture in place.”

Getting my stuff moved into one of Sid’s many guest bedrooms (he could have a B&B if hockey failed) was easy, but I realized I desperately needed some clothes. I texted Caeleigh about shopping, and she said she’d pick me up in about an hour.

I left Sid and the guys with very specific instructions on where to put things, and Caeleigh and I left for the mall (Sid insisted he give me some shopping money, I think he knows how broke I am).

Once we were at the mall I told Caeleigh everything about Brandon and the kiss and the closet.

“Wait, you’re living with Sid, yet Brandon kissed you Thursday, and then pulled you into a closet at Consol yesterday?” She was nearly screaming she was so excited and I had to pull her behind a clothing rack to keep her quiet.

“Shhh yes, but I don’t want everyone knowing.” I said looking around.

“This is intense Emme. Like, shit just got real.” She said picking up a skimpy dress and holding it up to me. “You should buy this to do Sid’s housework in.”

“No, we are not like that,” I said, but I couldn’t help laughing at the idea of wearing a dress and heals to clean his house. “I don’t know what’s going on, actually. Right before Brandon and I were interrupted in the closet, he said ‘I have-’ but he didn’t get to say what! What does he have? Herpes?”

Caeleigh laughed, “That would be funny if he had herpes, because he kissed you. Maybe he has mono?”

“I think he’d be sleeping all the time if he had mono, and not playing hockey.” I knew she was just messing with me, but I really wanted to know what he was going to say. Why was I always left with such cliff hangers with him?

After finding several new outfits Caeleigh brought me home. She helped me put my stuff away in my new room and she talked about non-Brandon or Sid related topics, I wasn’t really listening.

“Pancake.” I said, catching her off guard.

“What?”

“I could visit my cat, Pancake, who lives at Brandon’s house?” She was following me now, and smiled.

“And you can find out if he has herpes or not,” she said with a smile, right as Sid walked in.

“Who has herpes?” He looked confused.

“No one. What’s up?” I asked.

“I’m going out for a drink with the guys, will you be okay here?” He asked.

“Yup, I have a key, and the code for the gate, and I have your number if I need anything.” I smiled, I like that he was looking out for me. “I think Caeleigh and I are going to see my cat. Are you sure I can’t have her here? She’s not even a black cat”

“No, no cats.” Sid laughed. “All cats are bad luck.” He smiled and added, “but you could have a dog if you wanted.”

After Sid left, I texted Brandon and asked if we could visit Pancake. He said he was just making dinner if we’d like to join him. Pancake was very happy to see me, at least I think she was. It’s hard to tell with her sometimes.

After dinner Caeleigh got a text from Geno.
“He wants me to see a movie with him!” She showed me her phone.

“Elysium?” I asked, not having heard of it before.

“It has Matt Damon.” Brandon added. “I saw it last week with Beau. It’s kind of a dystopia, futuristic action movie.”

Caeleigh looked a little disappointed that it wasn’t a romantic comedy or something.

“You can hold his hand if you get scared.” I suggested.

She smiled, “yeah, and I get scared easily.”

“Text me tonight, I want details.” I said as she was leaving.

After Caeleigh left Brandon and I finished the two bottles of wine we had opened for dinner (because Caeleigh only drinks white so ‘it won’t stain her teeth’) and we played with Pancake for a bit. We ended up sitting on the couch not really watching a movie on Netflix, talking about hockey and stuff. I moved closer to him without thinking about it, (maybe it was the wine?) and I leaned over to mess with his hair.

“Hey Brandon, do you have herpes?” I asked absently.

“What? No, where did you hear that?” He almost seemed a little offended.

I smiled. “Nowhere, it’s just that the other day you were about to say something and you started saying ‘I have’ and then you got cut off.”

His face changed from confusion to an emotion I couldn’t quite detect, (maybe a little guilt?) or even shame? And he put his head in his hands as he thought about something.

“That’s…” he started to say something, and then looked me over. I was wearing some of the new clothes Caeleigh had picked out for me, my new ‘grown up’ clothes as I call them.

The corners of his mouth lifted into a faint smile. “Don’t worry about it.” He said as he leaned closer to me. “You look fantastic tonight,” he added as he kissed my shoulder.

I blushed, but I didn’t feel embarrassed like I usually do when a guy compliments me (might have been the wine, I’m a lightweight).

I laughed and responded “you always look handsome.” I could tell I was smiling like an idiot, but he didn’t seem to care. He leaned in and took my face in his hands; our noses collided as he tried to kiss me. Laughing I pulled back. I pushed him over so he was lying on the couch and I climbed on top of him. I kissed the tip of his nose before pressing my lips against his, running my hands through his hair. He grabbed hold of me and pulled me up further as we continued to make out.

I pulled away for a second to look at him; to see if he was thinking the same thing I was. His eyes were lustful and I knew he wanted it as much as I did. He picked me up and carried me to his bed. Not wasting a minute, he began to take of my shirt as I undid the buttons on my skirt. As I took my clothes of I was very thankful Caeleigh and I had stopped at Victoria’s Secret today. I started undoing the buttons on his shirt while he took his pants off. He took a moment to look over my matching red lace bra and panties before carefully removing them. He pushed me back onto the bed and kissed my neck. I could feel his hardness against my leg as I tried to pull him closer. It had been a couple of months since Cam and I broke up, and he and I were not having much sex anyway.

I didn’t realize how horny I was until he started touching my clit. “Fuck, I want you inside me,” I moaned into his ear. He smiled a very naughty smile, and carefully flipped me over. He massaged my breasts while he slowly inserted himself. He began thrusting slowly but picked up the pace as I started moaning. I opened my eyes because I started hitting my head on the headboard. I grabbed his pillow and shoved it between my head and the wall, but I accidentally knocked over a picture on his night stand that had been facing the other way. It was a picture of Brandon kissing a girl.

“Brandon!” I stopped him and he saw the picture was over turned. “Who is this?”

She might.
If she were to do that, who would you suggest? I'm not that familiar with the team.
