Dear Emme,

Boston is so nice, but cold. I miss being able to lie out in the sun and wear a skirt every day. But the leaves are so pretty here! Most of them have started to fall, but I still love it.

I’m staying with Freddie’s brother Dougie until I can find my own apartment and get settled in. Freddie visits when he can, but he’s really busy so I end up driving out to Worcester to see him. Can I just say how much I hate Massachusetts’ drivers? They suck! Like, turning signals anyone?

Bruins ice girls are sooo much better than the Sharks ice girls. Like, they can actually skate backwards! I’m teaching them all the cool tricks you taught me, like the back flip and stuff. Things are going well so far!

They make us wear black figure skates with yellow laces. I thought that was kind of weird, until I remembered you wore black skates too. Why do you like black skates? White is so much prettier and girly.

I was very excited to skate at my first game! And it went well!! I don’t know if you were watching, but the B’s won!! Before the game I met some of the wags because the ice girls do fundraising with them. Most of them are pretty nice, or at least the ones I met, but Tuukka Rask’s little girl was there and OMG she is so cute!!!! She reminds me of Ellie a little (awww, I miss little Ellie and Ted!) (Maybe I can babysit for baby tuks)

I know I’ve only been gone for five days, but I miss you!! When can you visit? I see the Sharks play the Bruins in January, maybe you and the twins can come with them : D please?

Anyway, back to apartment hunting…..

Dear Caels,

I’m happy that you’re doing well in Boston. Sorry to hear you’re not coping well with the Massachusetts’ drivers, or as we in New Hampshire call them, Massholes.

Things in San Jose are going well, though it’s not the same without you : (

I have to find an actual babysitter to watch the twins, although Tomas always seems ready to fill in whenever our sitter cancels. Kind of cute : )

I don’t think the Sharks will let Brandon bring his children and girlfriend to a game with them, however I can probably visit you when I go home for Christmas! They Sharks play the Hurricanes on the 23rd and then Brandon and I will be flying into Boston on Christmas Eve and then driving up to my mother’s house. I am very excited for Christmas this year!!! Eric will get to see his daughter, which will probably make me cry. And then the twins and Brandon are going to New Hampshire for the first time! Brandon met my mom when the twins were born, but he hasn’t met anyone else in my family. Hopefully there will be snow so he can see NH in its proper state.

What else have you missed out here…. Logan asked how you were doing. I said you were fine. Oh, yeah and Jason Demers asked about you….and so did James Sheppard….and Tomas Hertl….and Joe Thornton? (You didn’t say anything about him Caeleigh!!!) (Or is he just being friendly?)

Yeah, that’s pretty much everything. Life is boring without you : (

Dear Emme,

It snowed!!! Boston is so beautiful in the snow. I think I like it here even more now!

I didn’t realize how tall Chara was until I was standing next to him. He’s over a foot taller than me! I was standing next to him for a picture (because he’s the captain and I’m the head ice girl) for some thing, I don’t remember what, but I had to stand on my toes so we could get in the picture together!

You know who else is tall? Dougie Hamilton. Yup. He’s almost a foot taller than me! It’s very helpful when we’re grocery shopping and I can’t reach something, or if we need to change a light bulb. It’s very helpful living with a really tall person. I really like living with him, actually, and I can’t find an apartment that I like. Also, I don’t want to move now that it’s winter and snowy. I’ll just wait until spring. (And he has a nice apartment, it has a great view of the bay and it’s really easy to get to the TD Garden).

I didn’t tell you about my thing with Jumbo? Hahahha Just kidding!!! He is probably just being nice, seeing as he’s the captain of the Sharks and needs to keep track of his players/ ice girls or whatever.

Although, there was one thing I didn’t tell you about, now that I think of it. Did Brad Stuart’s wife ever talk to you? (Melissa, I think?) Because she talked to me, about him. It was weird. And then something weirder happened. Brad asked me if I would babysit his kids while he and his wife were out (what am I, the team’s babysitter?). I agreed because he said his normal sitter had mono and he and his wife hardly ever went out, so I felt bad.

However, when I got to his house, there were no kids, no wife, just Brad. I’m like, what? And he pretended to be all surprise to see me and stuff, but I knew what was happening. He’s like, ‘Oops, I must have given you the wrong date. The kids are at their grandparent’s with their mom.’ Liarrrrr. He tried to get me to stay, saying he felt bad that I’d driven all the way there, and he’d ‘conveniently just opened a bottle of wine’ if I’d like to stay and have some.

And then it got kind of funny. So, remember how that one time you asked me to babysit I ended up inviting Tomas over? Welllll, I decided to invite Logan over for a make out sesh while I was watching Brad’s kids. However, I didn’t get a chance to tell him not to come once I found out Brad was just being a perv.

So, lovely, adorable, Logan knocks on the door. I followed Brad over to the door, realizing it was probably Logan. You should have seen Brad’s reaction when he opened the door and found Logan Couture standing on his porch holding a box of condoms. They were both speechless, so I was the first to talk.

“Logan, come in, Brad just opened a bottle of wine,” I smiled, and I could feel Brad blushing next to me. Logan looked soooo confused, but he came in anyway. He shoved the box of condoms in my purse when Brad wasn’t looking. “I thought you said they’d be gone?” He whispered as we walked to the kitchen.

“It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later,” I whispered back, and smiled at Brad when he turned around.

“So, um,” Brad cleared his throat awkwardly, and uncomfortably looked between Logan and I. “You guys want some wine?”

“I’d love a glass!” I said, trying to play this out. When Logan didn’t say anything, I replied for him. “Logan would also like a glass, he loves wine, right?” (Nope, he hates it)

As Brad got some glasses I looked out the sliding glass doors in his kitchen to the backyard. “Is that a pool? Omg, can we go swimming?!”

“Yeah, I guess, did you bring a suit?” Brad asked and handed us our wine. Logan was nervously staring at me and began drinking his wine, wrinkling his nose at the taste.

“No, but we’re all grownups, we don’t really need to wear bathing suits,” I said and stated to unbutton my top.

“Caeleigh,” Logan reached over and stopped me. “I just remembered that I have to call my grandmother. You should come with me, I might need help.”

So, Logan and I left to go ‘call his grandmother’ and Brad never looked at us the same after that. What a creep.

You can totally visit me on Christmas Eve! Dougie and Freddie will be here too, it’ll be fun!

Dear Caeleigh,

I was literally laughing out loud when I read your last letter. Yes, Brad’s wife Melissa talked to me. She and I get along well, but I never visit them at their house. I don’t even know what his problem is that’s so gross.

Did you use the term ‘call his grandmother’ to insinuate sex? Because if so, that’s just not okay Caeleigh!

You and Dougie seem to be getting along well, that’s good, I guess (You guys go grocery shopping together?!?!). Does he have a girlfriend?

Looking forward to seeing you guys! I will let you know what time we’ll be flying into Logan on the 24th.

And no, Dougie does not have a girlfriend. I don’t like your tone, girl. I can see what you’re hinting at. But unlike you, I don’t sleep with my boyfriend’s brother. Even if he is super hot and ginger and tall. We just get along well, that’s all. We’ve bonded over our mutual gingerness.

And yes, I did mean that we’d had sex when I said we were ‘calling his grandmother.’ I realize now how wrong that was.

Dear Emme,

‘Cae Cae’ is Dougie’s nick name for me. And I know what you’re going to say, so don’t say it. Just because he has a nick name for me doesn’t mean we’re sleeping together.

Freddie and I went to the MFA yesterday and looked at pretty pictures. It was very fun, although I think he was kind of bored. I guess looking at art isn’t really his thing. Today I was supposed to go to the Science Museum with him, but he couldn’t make it because of practice, so Dougie went with me instead. It wasn’t a date or anything like that. We had fun!

Dear Caeleigh,

We will be flying into Boston at 10:30 tomorrow, can you pick us up?

So happy you went to the Science Museum!! I love that place! When I was in elementary school we took a field trip there and got to spend the night in the museum!! It was so much fun. I can’t wait until the twins are old enough to go. (Wow, I feel old.)
