Lost Girl
The Wingman
Flash forward five hours, and the two we’re at Kadri’s get together. The large condo was filled with almost all of the leafs excluding the one’s with families, a few of the Marlies, some friends, and quite a bit of young girls. Music blared from the speakers set up to Kadri’s iPhone, Animal the team’s favorite pre game song came on. Everyone danced wildly, drinks dripping out of cups as the people drinking couldn’t stand still. The atmosphere of the party was crazy and lively, everyone was having a good time besides one person. Jake was seated on Kadri’s sofa, beside a couple making out on the couch. Rolling his eye’s and scoffing, he took a sip of the water in his cup as he tuned out the party again and kept imagining her. Her walk, her hair, her smile, the way she looked at him. He couldn’t get enough of her. Picturing different scenario's in his head of the two of them, being involved with each other mildly, he then came to the conclusion of, how was he even going to find her? He had no idea of how he was going to be able to find out who she was. Taking another sip of water, he was brought out of his trace as Shannon sat on his lap, her short black dress with laced long sleeves running up her thighs, leaving no imagination to Jake’s mind as he was spotted with the black fabric on her crotch. Cringing slightly to himself, he looked up at Shannon and gave her a soft, short, smile. As she opened her mouth to speak, he could smell the strong scent of alcohol tracing her lips, her smile growing wide as her eyes seemed glossed.
“Hey, Jake..” She began, putting an arm around his shoulder as he stiffened slightly. “How are you?” He asked under his breath, as he turned away from her to take a sip of his water.
“Fine, you wanna get out of here?” She slurred as she played with the back of his shirt.
Shaking his head slightly, Jake sighed. “You know what Shannon, I actually don’t feel great tonight.” He lied as she tried to ease her off of him, to which she got on her knees and pouted, putting her hands on his belt loops of his jeans. “But, I can make you feel better. Come on, Jake.” She whined as he could almost fully see the breasts he once felt accustomed to.
“Shannon, please not tonight.” He insisted, pulling her hands off of him. She growled at him, her nostrils flaring. “You’re such a jerk!” She screamed at him, slapping him on the cheek, before getting off of the couch and running to the bathroom, crying.
Jake watched as he felt embarrassment wash over his face as he saw the whole room looking at him. He gave a soft smile and waved for everyone to continue partying. “Don’t worry, just a little misunderstanding.” He assured the crowd as they shrugged it off and continued to dance wildly.
Standing there awkwardly, Jake turned as he heard Morgan’s voice full of concern. “Dude, yo, what just happened?” He asked as Jake ran a hand through his blonde locks. “I told her I didn’t want to hook up tonight.” Jake told him as Morgan gave him a questionable look. “And why would you do that?” He asked as Ashley walked passed the two boys and flashed them a sad smile.
“Jake, don’t worry about Shannon, she’s just stressed lately.” She then turned from looking at Jake to the younger blonde, as she let a deep red come across her cheeks. “Hey Morgan.” She said as she then walked off towards the bathroom where Shannon was.
Morgan sighed as he put a hand over his forehead. “Holy crap.” He kept his eyes on Ashley as she moved herself into the bathroom. Her sway had Morgan on a high he never felt. Her red hair cascaded down her shoulders in soft curls as her skin looked soft and silk-like. “Fuck.” Morgan cursed as he hit Jake over the head.
“What the hell?” Jake hissed as he rubbed his head. Morgan looked at Jake and glared him in the eyes. “You are suppose to be getting action with Shannon while I have a chance with Ashley. Be my wingman, come on!” He begged Jake as Jake bit his lip, rolling his eyes.
Jake took a deep breath before glaring at the blonde. “Did you not see how she just looked at you man, Ashley’s already interested I don’t need to help.” He told him as Morgan quickly shook his head, a stern look on his young face. “Can you not just invite Shannon over so I can talk to Ashley? Please help me!” Morgan cried as Jake pushed Morgan, resulting for him to fall over the arm of the couch.
Walking towards the locked bathroom door, Jake stood against the door and knocked on it as he heard Shannon crying and complaining about her life. He felt sick to his stomach, but he began to speak. “Shannon, I’m sorry. Let’s get out of here.” He began as she began screaming. “You’re a dick!”
Sighing, he began again. “I know, but I just had a lot on my mind. I’m sorry, ...babe.” He dreaded saying, as the door flew open and Shannon latched her hands around Jake’s neck. His eyes went wide as she began sucking his face, her lips attached to his while he stood awkwardly. As she pulled away and grabbed his hand, he looked at Ashley who stood in the doorway, a laugh seeking through her lips. “Do you wanna come back too? Morgan’s going to just be probably watching tv.” Jake asked as she shrugged, “Why not?”
Grabbing both hers and Shannon’s stuff, Ashley walked up to Jake who had Shannon grabbing at his pants as he continued to gently swat her hand away. Morgan quickly jumped from beside Jake and rubbed his hands together. “Let’s go!” He announced as the group began walking out, Jake and Morgan saying goodbye’s to their teammates before exiting the apartment. As they returned to their place, Morgan unlocked the door, allowing Jake to walk in behind a wandering Shannon, who’s hands were already grabbing Jake’s zipper. Jake grabbed Morgan who was trying to flirt with Ashley, to which he began to growl in his ear. “I’m going to fucking kill you in your sleep.” He then shoved him off as he walked to his room with the needy brunette.
The next morning, Jake woke up to see the large clutter of clothes all over the floor. He groaned as he spotted Shannon and her make up on his pillow case. Sneering he stood up and walked over to the closet in his naked state and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie with the Toronto Maple Leaf’s logo on the front. He put his clothes on before grabbing his charged up phone and heading off into the living room. There was Morgan sleeping on the couch with the blankets around him like a cape. Shaking his head, he walked into the kitchen area to see Ashley with her glasses on, reading one of Morgan’s hockey books. Beside her was a cup of tea, which he didn’t even know he had. Looking up at the blonde, Ashley smiled as she pointed to the bedroom.
“Have fun?” She asked as Jake rolled his eyes, grabbing a seat beside her. “Yeah a total hoot. No offence or anything..” He then assured as he put a hand up to her in apology as she shook her head laughing.
“Nah don’t worry man, she’s just my roommate and I came because I had to look after her unless I wanted to call the cops for a missing person search.” She laughed softly as Jake awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. “Did you have fun last night?” He asked as he put his head in his hands, yawning slightly.
He took a glance at the redhead as she nodded, taking a sip of tea. “Yeah, I did. Morgan wouldn’t stop talking but it was funny. Kinda cute.” She started as Jake laughed softly.
“When can I tell the poor kid you like him?” He asked as he was told, many months ago to not tell Morgan about her feelings, as they were in the same position as they were right now.
“Soon, I’m gonna tell him soon. Thank you again for helping me. And uh, sorry for you having to deal with Shannon.” She laughed as he groaned. “Just don’t bring up her name.” He laughed softly as he checked the time on his phone.
“Shit I have to get to Real Sports to pick up my mom’s orders. Can you let Morgan know where I went, that is if he ever wakes up. And tell Shannon, I ask if she can clean the pillow case.”
Ashley let out a laugh as she choked on her tea. “She got make up on the pillow again?” She asked as Jake nodded, putting on his winter coat and shoes. “Go jump on Morgan to wake the little shit up.” He told her as she nodded, putting down her glasses and running towards Morgan on the couch. Jake noticed she was wearing Morgan’s clothes, giving him a shallow feeling inside.
She used to wear my clothes..
Hearing the laughter in Ashley’s voice and Morgan’s morning voice greeting her, Jake swallowed hard and grabbed his car keys, walking out the front door.
