Lost Girl
The Bet
Jake’s eyes stayed fixed on the girl in front of him. He couldn’t believe his eyes. Feeling his insides enlighten with electricity, he was interrupted by Joff who called Jake out of his trace.
“Get ready, Gards.” He joked around with Jake who turned around and came back to reality. As he raised his paddle he had realized that the mystery blonde was the one who Joffrey was winking to. She was laughing at his flirtatious vibe, which was boggling Jake’s mind. How the hell did they know each other? As a mix of confusion and anger filled inside of him, Jake prepared for the new match and raised an eyebrow at Lupul.
“Bet I can impress your girl.” Jake told Lupul, trying to tempt him and get him heated. Raising his eyebrow, Joff gave Jake a funny look as he continued.
“Oh is that so? Do you want to make a little bet out of this?” He encouraged as Jake nodded, smacking his tongue to the top of mouth mouth. “Uh, yeah, come on I’ll wipe your face.” Jake laughed, feeling confident in himself.
As the two fought over her, Piper stood in the doorway, confused yet curious. She looked over to her cousin who shrugged along with Morgan. Piper smiled softly to herself as she walked over to the table, standing in the middle and off to the side.
“Do you think you guys can just auction me off or something?” She said, smirking at Joff before locking gazes with Jake. She noticed he had a different look and something was different about him. Biting her lip gently, she waited for a response from Jake as he didn’t answer. He didn’t know how to. Just her talking had him mezmorised as she waved her hand in front of his face, a laugh seeping out of her lips.
“Hello?” She began again as he finally responded.
“If I win, I get a date with her. If you win, I’ll leave you both alone." Jake encouraged as she blushed softly before looking at Joff who was smiling, believing in himself highly. "You're going down, Gards."
The two began to battle it out over ping pong as Piper sat down next to her cousin, watching intently. Though she was watching, it was rather, who, she was watching. She had her eyes fixed on the blonde the whole time. Who was he and why did he want to go on a date with her so bad? She then looked at him longer and began to ask herself, how she knew him, due to how familar he looked.
The game went on, as the score was a close 9-7, for Lupes. Mentally praying for the blonde, she crossed her fingers and whispered into her fist, "Come on blondie."
As she spoke softly, Jake then scored on Lupul to make the score 9-8. With another go, Jake served and was able to steal another point, making them tied. Before going in for his next stroke, Jake took a deep breath, knowing this was how he was going to get his dream girl. Serving the ball, he hit it hard as Lupes did the same, trying to up Jake. Joff hit the ball hard, to which Jake believed he was going to miss no doubt in mind. Going against his judgment, Jake went down and hit the ball as he got on his knees. The ball hit over in a clean stroke, went past Joff, and hit against the hardwood floor.
Jake instantly got up and looked over at Piper, flashing her a smile as he walked over to her. Holding his hand out, Jake smiled and sent her a wink.
"Jake." He introduced himself as her hand shook his much larger one.
"Piper." Smiling at each other softly, Piper looked at Lupes who patted Jake on the back.
"You know if the date totally blows she's mind again right? No redo's." Lupes spoke as he played around with him before looking at Piper.
"Call me if he's a dick." He told her as she blushed softly, laughing as they were met with the voice of Sierra.
"So does that mean that Lupul's free right now?" Sierra asked as Piper laughed, nodding.
"Yeah, go for it."
Nodding, Sierra spoke a soft thank you to Piper as she looked at Jake.
"This turned out to be a good blind date." She joked as he laughed, scratching his neck awkwardly. "Yeah, sorry about that.." Sierra gave him a wink and waved him off as she walked off to go talk to Joff at the bar.
As Jake turned back around, he was met with an eyebrow raised Piper who had her arms crossed.
"Do you usually bet over other girls while on dates?" She asked, a smirk on her face to show him she was clearly joking with him, to which he laughed.
Sending her a wink, he leaned against the wall beside her and answered her joking question.
"Yeah, better get ready to trade dates when I take you out Tuesday night."
