Living A Dream
My eyes slowly crept open as they adjusted to the morning light shining through the window, I looked over at Beau as he slept beside me, and I gently grabbed his arm and unwrapped it from my waist. I sat up as I thought about last night’s festivities; I checked my phone to see a text from each of my best friends, I didn’t bother reading them considering I already knew what they were about.
I slid my underwear back on and gently stood up making sure not to wake him up, I looked at myself in the mirror, and I looked like a mess. My hair was everywhere, my make up from last night was smudged, and all I was wearing was Beau’s jersey that was so big it fit like a dress.
I walked into the bathroom and washed the remainder of my make up off, I brushed my hair into a messy bun and once again looked at myself in the mirror, and I looked somewhat presentable. I walked back into Beaus room and grabbed my leggings; I put them on and looked around the room for my shirt.
“Where are you going?” Beau asked as he stretched in his bed.
“Home. Where did you put my shirt?” I asked as I looked under the bed still not being able to find it, I looked up at him and groaned impatiently.
“I don’t remember.” He rubbed his forehead as he thought about it; he shrugged giving up and sat up.
“Come here.” He whispered as he grabbed my arm and pulled me onto him, I shrieked as I fell on him, I wasn’t expecting that.
I straddled his waist as I leaned down to kiss him, “You look better than I do in that jersey.” He grinned.
“It’d look even better on the floor.” He added as he tried to slip it off.
“Not again, I have to get going.” I sighed not wanting to leave; I crawled off of him and continued to look for my shirt.
“Just wear my jersey home and I’ll call you if I find your shirt.” He suggested.
“Are you sure?” He nodded his head. I gave him a quick kiss before saying my goodbyes and leaving.
I slid my keys out of the door before kicking it close with my foot; I dropped my keys on the kitchen counter and slid off my jacket, I hung it up on the coat rack and made my way over to my room. I smiled at Sid as he walked out of Autumn’s room.
“Nice jersey.” He teased. I looked down at the jersey I had completely forgotten I was wearing.
“Nice hickey.” I smirked.
He shoved me playfully as he passed by, I laughed to myself and walked into my room, I had work in less than two hours and still had to get ready. I laid out my clothes before hopping into the shower; I took a quick shower and immediately started getting dressed as I got out. Normally I’d spend an hour lying in bed with only a towel to cover me as I did God knows what.
An hour later I was sitting on the counter with a fresh cup of coffee in my hand, Sid joined me on the counter as Autumn was passed out in bed.
“Fun night?” I grinned as I ruffled his hair. He smacked my hand away and nudged me.
“I could ask you the same question.” He replied.
I looked down at my feet and blushed it wasn’t much of a surprise that Beau and I were sleeping together; it wasn’t like we were keeping it a secret anyways. It had only been two days and everyone already knew.
“I have to get to work.” I hopped off the counter and put my mug in the sink, I’d wash it when I get home from work. I slipped on my heels and grabbed my jacket from the coat rack.
“What do you do again?” Sid asked as he also put his mug in the sink.
“I’m an assistant.” I explained before grabbing my keys and running out the door, I shouted goodbye before I closed the door.
I got into the elevator and tapped my foot impatiently as the elevator descended down to the lobby; I got my phone out as I remember something. I looked through my contacts for Sid’s number; I tapped away at my phone as I walked out of the elevator.
“When you leave for practice can you take Beau’s jersey with you? It’s on my bed.” I pressed send and slid my phone back into my jacket pocket. I made my way over to my car as my phone vibrated; I got it out and read the text from Sid.
“Anything for you.” I rolled my eyes as I got into my car and put the keys in the ignition; I pulled out of the parking lot and drove towards the office.
I walked through my apartment door exhausted from a long day at work; I kicked off my heels finally relived to get them off. I couldn’t wait to take a long hot bath before the game tonight.
“How was work?” Autumn asked as she sat on the couch with her cat Jorge in her lap.
“Awful,” I groaned, I sat on the edge of the couch as I pet Jorge, “Did Sid leave?” I asked.
She nodded her head as she watched the sports highlights from last night’s Pens game. I got up and made my way over to my room, I half smiled as I noticed Sid had done what I asked. I grabbed a pair of joggers and a pens tee before making my way over to the bathroom.
I let the water run before getting in, I put my hair in a bun not wanting to get it wet, I leaned my hair against the tiled wall and closed my eyes. I played with the bubbles I had added to the water, I leaned forward turning off the water before it began to overflow.
I closed my eyes as I thought about my life over the past few years; I never would have thought I’d move to Pittsburgh with my best friends, I was living a dream apart from putting up with an obnoxious boss just to keep my dream alive. Regardless of all the rough times I wouldn’t change anything that happened over the years. I was distracted from my thoughts as Autumn called my name.
“Keirstyn! Beau is here!” She shouted. There was a knock on the bathroom door before it slowly opened.
Beau popped his head out and smiled as he saw me, he closed the door behind him as he walked in. He sat on the edge of the tub and frowned.
“All these bubbles are blocking my view.” He pushed a few bubbles away as he tried to sneak a peek; I slapped his hand away and glared.
“What are you doing here? You have a game in a few hours.” I asked confused.
“I got bored after practice and wanted to see you. I also found your shirt and thought I’d bring it over.” He explained, he stuck his hand in the water and began running it up and down my thigh.
I tensed up a bit and he began to smirk, “Don’t.” I hissed. He pulled his hand out and put them up as if surrendering.
“Keirstyn! I’m leaving. “Autumn called out before slamming the door shut as she left.
Beau raised an eyebrow as he looked at me; I rolled my eyes as I got up making sure Beau was watching my exposed body. I grabbed my towel and wiped the bubbles off of me, extra slow to tease him of course.
“Looks like someone’s excited.” I smiled as I wrapped the towel around my body, he got up and grabbed me, he threw me over his shoulder as he walked over to my bedroom.
He closed the door behind him and dropped me onto my bed as he threw off his shirt, “Oh, I’m excited.” He gave me a toothy grin before pulling off my towel.
“Oh my God!” Faith and Steph both shrieked as they walked into my room unannounced. They quickly covered their eyes and closed the door again.
“What did I miss?” Tori asked.
I threw the covers over me as my face turned red, “Couldn’t you knock!” I shouted.
“Well sorry I didn’t know you’d be fucking Beau at this time!” Faith yelled.
“Nice ass Beau!” Steph added. I rolled my eyes as he smirked.
I pushed him off of me and got dressed; I slowly walked out of the room still red as a tomato. Faith, Steph, and Tori were all sitting on the couch staring at me like disappointed mothers.
“Sorry.” I mumbled.
“He has a nice ass.” Steph whispered.
“Not as nice as Jon’s I bet.” Faith added.
“Not a chance!” Steph laughed.
“Can we forget this happened and never talk about it?” I asked humiliated that my friends walked in on me and Beau.
“Not a chance!” Steph repeated. They were never going to let this go. Beau walked out with a smirk on his face, he sat down on the couch beside me and wrapped his arm around me.
“I hope you like what you saw.” He teased, I hit his stomach and he laughed at my weak attempt at hurting him.
“I think I’m going to puke.” Faith announced.
“Stop being so overdramatic.” I hissed as I threw a couch pillow at her, she caught it in her hands and threw it back missing me and hitting Beau.
“Hey!” He whined, he looked over at me and pouted; I leaned up and kissed him to make him feel better.
“Are you guys a couple or friends with benefits?” Victoria asked.
I didn’t really know how to answer the question; we never really discussed what we were. I did like Beau but I tried to push the feelings away because I wasn’t sure if he liked me or he just liked sleeping with me.
“Couple.” He replied, “Friends with benefits” I replied.
We both looked at each other in shock, “Couple?” I repeated his words.
“I just thought- never mind.” He looked away embarrassed.
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, “We’re a couple.” I smiled at my friends.
Beau looked over at me and smiled before kissing me.
“We’re a couple.” He repeated before kissing me again.
