Training Miller
Chapter Twelve
"Hey so I was having sex last night and I think I did something.."
"What the hell," I said to myself as I turned around. Not sure who the voice belonged to, "Tyler Seguin. I should have known." I laughed at the kid standing in my doorway. I hadn't talked to him for a while.
"How's Pittsburgh treating you?" He hopped up on one of the tables, making himself comfortable in my office.
"It's great. Not Chicago, but I'm enjoying it. Staying out of trouble in Dallas?"
"Yeah. Well, trying to at least. I've been seeing this girl, Grace. Wonderful girl, but I've slept with her best friend before I started dating her. I don't think she knows though." He seemed upset with the situation, but I didn't really know how to help him.
"Let her know how much you care about her and that girls in the past don't matter anymore." He nodded, running hands through his hair. After he thought about what I had said for a minute, he started talking again
"I heard about what happened with Kane." I laughed and shook my head. That night was something else.
"Which part? The part where he singled out of of my players who had just returned or the part where I had to wear a scarf for a week and couldn't walk for three days?"
"Both, actually." I smiled not knowing what else to do. I have had some classy moments in my life and I wasn't going to deny it now.
"Yeah, not my finest time but at least it was fun. Or at least Jon said it sounded like I was having fun." Tyler cringed at my comment and started laughing.
"You are seriously something else."
"Did you just come in here to bother me or do you actually have something wrong that your trainer was too busy to deal with?"
"I just came to bother you."
"Good, cause I don't really want to do anything right now." I sat down on the rolling stool and spun around.
"How old are you again? 12?"
"Shut up."
We sat in there talking for a while, sharing stories. I told him about my birthday and how I tried going home with Sutter. He made that stupid face he does when he laughs. He stayed in here until he had to go get ready for the game.
I was folded over, trying not to fall off the stool from laughing so hard when Beau walked into the room.
"Oh hey babe. What's up?" I asked as I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Nothing. What's going on in here?" He eyed Tyler, getting defensive.
"Oh we were just talking about the time we had a party at Ty's house and I had a little too much to drink. I think we all know how that ends," Beau wouldn't stop staring at the hockey player sitting on my table and he was starting to get uncomfortable.
"I should get going. It was great seeing you, Drew. We should make a trip up to Boston after season."
"Yeah that sounds great! I've been wanting to go back. Let me know when you plan on going and I'll see if I can work something out." I gave Tyler a hug before he left to get ready for the game.
"What was that?" Beau snapped as soon as the Dallas Star had left the room.
"We were just catching up, calm down babe." Beau's hands made their way to my waist. With thumbs digging into my hip bones and his forehead pressed against mine, he backed me into the wall.
"Maybe you should date him instead."
"Maybe I will," I raised an eyebrow, challenging him. Beau roughly kissed me.
"Can he do that?"
"No," I bit my lip. I liked this side of Beau, "You're pretty sexy when you're jealous. You should probably go though. Don't wanna get in trouble."
I sat in my office, watching the game on tv when I felt like paying attention. For the most part I did some online shopping. You can never have too many shoes, right? After the game, Tyler came back to my office and asked if I wanted to go out. I agreed, knowing that Beau would be coming home with me but we haven't gone out in almost two months. Once couldn't hurt, right?
Driving home, I turned on the radio and started humming the Lady Antebellum song that was playing. I decided not to bring up the whole thing about Tyler until I was unlocking the door to my apartment.
"So, Tyler invited us to go out with him tonight."
"I just want to stay in tonight. I'm tired."
"Yeah, but I'm not," I told him, "We never go out anymore. Staying in is great, but I need to go out and have fun every once in a while. Now, I'm going to get ready. You have a few minutes to decide whether or not you want to come out with me."
I searched my closet for the hottest outfit I owned. He was going to change his mind about going out. I pulled on my little black dress and slipped on a pair of heels. After putting on some makeup and straightening my hair, I was ready to go.
I walked out into my front room and got Beau's attention.
"Holy shit." His mouth dropped and eyes widened. That was exactly the reaction I wanted from him.
"You're not getting any of this if you don't come out with me. Besides, you don't want Segs to get me all to himself, do you?" He walked up to me and gently grabbed my face.
"You're mine. Others need to see that," he firmly said, "They should be the ones jealous and they will be."
He drove my car to the place we were meeting Tyler and some of his teammates. It wasn't the usual place we went to, which I was thankful for. I didn't want to see any of the Penguins while I looked like this. I knew what kind of comments that I would get and how Beau would react. It wouldn't be pretty.
"Damn girl," Tyler looked me up and down, "You look amazing. I'd try taking you home with me if I didn't have a girlfriend." Beau shot him a dirty look, "I'm kidding. You're a lucky guy, Bennett."
"Alright well I'm thirsty," I grabbed Beau's hand and drug him to the bar with me. I ordered a few shots and then a beer. I planned on remembering tonight and not doing anything stupid. I don't think Beau would let me.
We were dancing for a while before Tyler said they were going somewhere else. We followed them and I was regretting my choice of shoes. At the same time, I was glad I wore them. They got me what I wanted, didn't they?
I was standing against the wall and Beau was in front of me, whispering in my ear. I giggled, knowing what he was saying was complete crap.
"Since we left my car at the other place, you can drink," I was trying to get my boyfriend drunk. I'm such a wonderful girlfriend.
"I guess I'll go get us something to drink," he smiled and turned away but I just followed him.
I was sitting on a bar stool, playing with Beau's belt loops. I heard his name get called and turned to look who it was. Brandon, Robert, Jayson, and Olli walked in. My boyfriend and I went over to greet them even if I hoped I didn't see his teammates tonight. Jayson and Olli didn't react the the way I was dressed, but I knew Beau would have a few words with his roommate when they got back.
We stood there talking to the guys when Tyler came to say goodbye.
"It was good seeing you Sequin, I'll see you next time you're in town!"
"Not if you keep calling me that," he laughed and gave me a hug before shaking Beau's hand. I could tell he wasn't happy with the way that Tyler acted, but he kept his mouth shut.
"How are you two such good friends?" Brandon asked after he had walked away from oue group.
"I had an internship with the Bruins and I ended up being his babysitter since I was the closest to his age. I haven't slept with him or even kissed him if that's what you're trying to get at." I hadn't been talking to Brandon as much as I used to. I think he was mad that Jayson had broken the two of us apart on my birthday.
Even though I had slowed down my alcohol consumption, Beau was still going at it. I was talking to Jayson about getting recalled to WBS, but apparently my neck tasted really good.
"Damn it Beau. Quit that," I laughed at the drunk hockey player kissing and licking at my neck.
"Get a room," Robert told us, clearly not impressed with the way we were acting. Or he was acting I guess.
"Jealous much?"
"Yeah, actually I am." That comment was enough to get Beau off my neck and mumble some choice words to the guys around him.
"I think it's time to go," Beau told me. He was getting sick at the way the other guys were looking at me and frankly, I was excited to get out of these heels.
And to see what happened tonight while we were alone.
"See you guys at practice tomorrow," I waved goodbye and walked out of the club, drunk boyfriend following right behind me.
"You're not allowed to wear that dress when we go out anymore."
"I can wear what I want, thank you."
"I don't like the way guys look at you."
"I don't like the way girls look at you."
"I'm not going anywhere, Drew."
"Neither am I."
"I'm sorry I acted like an ass tonight, but I had to. You look so damn amazing tonight. Everyone needed to know that you're mine and only mine." I laughed at how jealous he was getting, even now that we were in the hall outside my apartment.
"Alright Beau, take me out a little more often and I won't wear this dress unless it's for something special."
He backed me up against the door and bit my bottom lip, "You can wear it if I get to take it off."
@heysunshine
I understand that. I would love it if it just followed them through their everyday life. I think that would be awesome.
