Chapter Thirteen

"Please tell me where we're going tonight," I begged Beau at lunch. He had brought me Panda Express before he went off and did whatever for the day. Him being injured was a blessing and a curse at the same time.
Beau couldn't really do anything with his cast on, causing him to just sit in my office and annoy me. I loved that I got to spend time with him and he would bring me lunch when I forgot to bring one. I could tell not being able to practice or play was getting to him. Poor thing still had a couple months to go...
"No. It's called a surprise for a reason," He wouldn't budge. I had been trying for days and he still wouldn't tell me a single little detail. I even tried asking the team.
"Fine then," I got up and threw my trash away before washing my hands and joining the guys talking in the other room.
"What do you and Beau do at your place," Neal had asked, "Do you just have sex all the time?"
I rolled my eyes and grabbed some tape from the cupboard, "I haven't had sex since the night before my birthday. Beau might be having sex, it's just not with me."
A few of the guys started laughing and I turned around to see Beau right behind me, with a bright red face, mumbling something about his teammates.
"And how long did it take Kane to get it in?"
"Patrick was a completely different situation. I didn't want a relationship with him, I didn't really have much to lose if we ruined things by sleeping with each other," I told Neal, "We've only been a few months. Why is it such a big deal?"
"It's not. Sunshine just used to brag about hooking up with all these girls and he's definitely settled down with all the talking since you've been around."
"Well that's good I guess. You really need to be leaving though. I have places to be," I pushed Neal out the door, turning to Beau.
"You should leave too."
"Can't I stay?" He whined, not getting off the rolling stool he was sitting on.
"You can stay if you tell me where we are going tonight," Beau quickly got up and kissed my cheek.
"I'll pick you up at 7. See you later."
"That's what I thought. Wait," he peeked his head back into the room, "What should I wear?"
"Those heels I like and a nice dress."
I went back to the paperwork I had been postponing. It was weird that I would be home by 2 today. That gave me enough time to take a nap and shower and get ready. Or just take a really long nap and get ready. That sounded better.
Driving home, I thought about the comments that the boys had made about me and Beau. I guess I never really realized that we hadn't actually slept together yet. A lot has happened since we've been together. I shrugged it off and walked up the stairs to my apartment.
I set my stuff down on the counter and walked to my room to change into something a little more comfy. I turned on the tv to some Premiere League game. It looked like Chelsea was playing. I wasn't a huge fan, but I wasn't going to turn the channel either. Soccer was soccer and I needed some in my life right now.
I had fallen asleep right before halftime but was rudely awakened by four obnoxious hockey players walking into my apartment and slamming the door. Before I could open my eyes, one was on my lap.
"Get off me," I whined as I tried pushing on the body sitting on me. I felt a hard cast that made me realize it was my boyfriend. "Beau seriously. Get off."
I could hear my fridge open and then my iPod start playing. Hockey players were really just big kids.
"Why are you watching soccer?" Brandon asked with a hand stretched out for the remote to change the channel. I still had an injured hockey player on my lap so I was unable to find the device for him. I could hear Jayson and Robert talk about the game tomorrow as they looked through my fridge.
"Eat my leftovers and I'll make your broken legs look like an accident."
"No you wouldn't," they both laughed at my empty threat. It's true. I probably wouldn't do anything about it. Beau finally got off my lap and I was able to see what the other three were doing.
"Don't think about changing the channel Brandon," I warned. I didn't really care if he did, but I still wanted to see the highlights of the Champions League games that were played earlier today.
"How can you watch that?"
"Going to Hell? What kind of music do you listen to?" Robert asked as he switched the songs on my iPod, "Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off? What in the world.."
It was seriously like I have four five year-olds running around my house. One was playing with my shirt, one was messing with the music, one was making a mess of my leftovers, and the other was playing with the tv. I looked between the four players and finally sat on my floor and held my head in my hands.
I wasn't crying, just laughing. I love these guys but a girl needs her space.
"Hey Beau, she's got both of Finley's albums on here.." Robert felt the need to mention that yes, I am a fan of my boyfriend's ex girlfriend. I didn't realize it was that big of a deal.
"Damnit you guys. Please stop. Brandon, turn off the tv. I'll look up the highlights online. Beau, stop playing with my sweater. It's not coming off right now and I better not have marks on my neck. Robert, go to the playlist named 'Dumb and Dumber', you should like all that music. And Jayson. I was really looking forward to eating that tomorrow. Or tonight."
"We're going to dinner," Beau reminded me.
"I know, but I might get hungry later tonight."
"We can go to milkshakes after.."
"Yes but you four need to leave. I have to take a shower."
"Can't I stay?"
"Not if you're taking me on a date in sweats and a hoodie."
I pushed the four guys out of my door and waved goodbye. I was about to shut the door when Beau came running back.
"I forgot something," He said innocently. His lips were on mine before I could tell him to look for whatever it was, "I'm gonna go get changed and then come back early, I hope you don't mind."
"Just don't bring those three back with you," I laughed and pushed him out my door, yelling out an 'I love you' as he tried catching up to his teammates.
Getting ready while Beau was at my place was easier than I thought it would be. He sat down in front of the tv and played one of the zombie killing games I had for a few hours. By the time I was done, he seemed to be bored of the gaming system anyway.
"Ready to go?" I asked him as I tried putting on the necklace he got me for my birthday.
"Yeah, need help with that?" I nodded and handed him the necklace before lifting my hair out of his way. I turned around and rested my head against his chest.
"We don't have to go out if you don't want to. I can make reservations for another night."
"No. I want to go out. I might just have an early night." He nodded, understanding that we might have to go to milkshakes another night.
He drove me to this fancy Italian restaurant. I remember driving past here a few times, but I never really had a reason to come here until now. The table we got was overlooking the river, the view was absolutely beautiful. He had ordered a bottle of my favorite wine and poured me a glass.
"So what's the occasion?"
"We've never been on a fancy date and I wanted to change that."
"I really don't expect you to take me out to fancy places all the time. I'm really fine with milkshakes and lazer tag or something like that.."
"I know. I just wanted to do this. Give you an excuse to dress up ever once in a while," I nodded and started eating the salad in front of me. By the time we were driving back to my place, I had drank enough wine that I wasn't quite tipsy yet, just giggly. But that might have been lack of sleep too.
We were about 10 minutes from my place when I asked him about my brother's wrestling match next weekend.
"Yeah, of course I'll go," his breath hitched as I started rubbing his upper thigh, "We'll just be gone for the weekend, right?"
He started tensing up, not sure what to do.
"Yeah. My parents booked an extra hotel room for me and Brandon. Dan is going for the first day but he has to be back for practice the next morning."
He tried to say something as he pulled into my parking spot, but couldn't seem to find the words. I could tell Beau was turned on and had no idea what to do with himself while we were walking up to my place. As soon as I opened the door, he pulled me in my own apartment and pushed me against the now closed door.
Beau picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He made his way to my bedroom as I unbuttoned his shirt. I could feel my phone start vibrating in the pocket of my dress. I pressed ignore and set it on my night stand. After the fourth time I had to press ignore or just let it ring, I picked up the phone.
"Quit being a cockblock Patrick," Beau was tugging at my dress like a little kid, not impressed with my best friend. I lifted my arms and threw my phone on a pile of clothes.
The ringing stopped for a few minutes, but then it wouldn't stop.
"I'm trying to have sex. Leave me alone Patrick!"
"It's not Patrick," my brother told me, "I'll call you tomorrow."
I started laughing as Beau tried to unhook my bra without looking, the wine was still in my system and the fact that I just told my brother I was getting laid was somehow hilarious. Beau gave me a funny look and started grazing his teeth on my neck.
"I hope you're not tired anymore," he whispered into my ear, sending chills down my spine.

@heysunshine
I understand that. I would love it if it just followed them through their everyday life. I think that would be awesome.

@Eat_sleep_hockey15
Thank you! It's on hold because I really don't know where I want it to go and I was relating a little too much to Bentley so I thought it would be best to stop for a while.

Okay so Drew and Beau's story does continue. They're a part of my Robert Bortuzzo fanfic, Sure Feels Right and there will be a sequel that's for both of the stories once I'm finished with that fic. The story is on Wattpad or I'll be posting it on here sometime soon! Along with the sequel once I finish :)
