No Sense of Direction 025:

Chapter Twenty Five

"You want any help?" I heard and then turned around to see that Milan was standing in the stables doorway holding the puppies.

I smiled and then walked over towards him and scratched the puppies head, "You're really a dog person, huh?"

"That obvious?" he laughed and I smiled towards him.

"A little," I said and then reached up and pressed my lips towards his.

"It's your birthday, Kat, aren't you suppose to like relax or something?" Milan teased and I smirked.

"Relax? Please, that sounds nothing like me!" I laughed and he smiled.

"Can I see the dogs?" I heard and looked behind me to see Bryan walking over.

"Sure, go take them outside though, make sure you don't let them go," I said and Bryan nodded his head.

"You'll have to get collars for them," Milan said and I nodded my head.

"I'll do it tomorrow, I have to settle the new ones in," I said and Milan looked passed me.

"I thought you were only getting one?"

"Yeah, but-"

"Uh huh," he laughed and then wrapped his arms around me and pressed his lips onto mine, "Do you want some help doing whatever you're doing?"

"Sure, you can be the muscle," I said and he smiled.

"I do have muscles," he said and I laughed.

"Oh yes you do," I said and then turned around and walked over towards the horses.

"So what do we have to do?" he asked and I turned around and started to walk backwards.

"I'm going to be cleaning out all of the stalls," I answered and he nodded his head, "It's a nice day, so I'm going to put them in the field."

"So who are the new ones?"

"Starfire and Nightwing," I said and he laughed, "The previous owner's daughter named them."

"That explains that," he said and I nodded my head.

"KAT!" I heard and then saw Zach and Chris running over and another trailer pulling up, "Another one's here."

"You're buying another one?" Chris asked as he ran up to me.

"I didn't plan on it," I said and then sighed, "I had only two people scheduled to come today, I was gunna only get one, but then I saw these two, and I just had to."

"So what about this guy?"

"I'll send him off," I said and then walked over towards him and everyone followed.

"You Ms. Spelling?"

"Yes," I said as the old man walked out of the truck.

"Got the mare you wanted to look at," he said and then pointed back towards the trailer, "You wanna take a look?"

"Sure," I said and then felt Zach looking at me, "Doesn't hurt to look."

"Katrina," he warned and I smiled.

"Come on, Zach."

"This here is, Snowflake," the man said and then opened the door and I saw this horse.

"Wow, ok, so maybe it does hurt to look," I muttered as the boys walked over.

"Told ya," Zach said as he stood next to me.

"She's pretty," Chris said and I nodded my head.

"She's beautiful," I said and felt Milan's hands on my waist.

"You want the files?" the man asked and I nodded my head.

"Yes please," I said and then heard Zach sigh.

"Kat," he groaned and I laughed a little.

"Come on, Zach," I said as I took the file and looked at it, "She looks good for being five."

"We took care of her."

"Why sell her then?" Milan asked and I leaned against his chest.

"I'm getting old, son,” he said and then sighed, “My family doesn't want the farm, so I'm selling it off," he explained and I nodded my head.

"She had a foal?" I asked seeing it in the records.

"Last year, another family already bought him," he said and I nodded my head, "She's a sweetheart, loves to be ridden, probably best to keep it under two hundred pounds though."

"How much?" I asked.

"Kat, come on."

"Seven thousand," he said and I handed the file to Zach and walked over towards the horse and he handed me the reins.

'...She's beautiful...' I thought as I glided my hands along her back, '...I really want her, but I don't have the money for her...'

"You like her?" the man asked and I smiled and nodded my head.

If I placed Nightwing next to her, they would be ying and yang. Her coat was completely white, while her tail and mane was blonde. I smiled as I stared into this horse’s eyes and I melted when I placed my hand in front of her nose.

"She'll take her," I heard and then turned around to see that Milan was smiling and Zach and Chris were staring at him with awe.

"Milan?"

"You want her? I'll buy her," he said and I didn't know what to say.

"You sure?" the man asked and I looked at him, ready to say no, that I was sorry, but I couldn't.

"She's sure," Milan said and then man nodded his head, "You take checks?"

"Yes," the man said and then walked off with Milan while I stared at the beautiful horse in front of me.

"Kat, are you sure about this?" Chris asked as he appeared next to me.

"I'm not the one who said yes," I said and Zach stood behind him.

"This is a bad idea," he said and I sighed and nodded my head.

"I know, but look at her," I said and Zach sighed and then smirked.

"You and your horses," he said and I smiled and nodded my head, "Dana is gunna have a heart attack tomorrow when she sees that we got three more horses," Zach said while talking about my friend and helper that comes in the morning, and when I'm not here, and feeds the horses.

"Well, yeah," I laughed, "I might need to find a second person to help her out."

"Maybe," Chris said and I shook my head.

"Can you close up the trailer for me?" I asked and Zach nodded his head and I started to walk Snowflake to the stables.

There was a long fence outside of the stables, I had tied Snowflakes reins to the fence and then walked into the stable and walked out Nightwing and Starfire. I turned around to see that Zach had gotten Lola and Chris was bringing out Care-Bear. I smiled towards them and then walked into the stalls and handed Balto to Zach as he walked in and then walked over towards Blaze's stall.

"Come 'ere, boy," I said as I opened his door and walked in. I had to be gentle and slow with him, because he was easily angered, "We're gunna go for a walk," I said as I hook a rope around his harness and then walked him out of the stall.

"You got him?" Zach asked and I nodded my head, "How's Dana with him?"

"He's use to her, so he's nice," I said and Zach nodded his head, "He's just misunderstood."

"All right, so you're the freaking horse whisperer," Zach teased and I laughed and then tied Blaze to the fence, on the end, next to Care-Bear.

"Nice horses," I heard and turned around to see that Milan and the man walked back towards us and Milan smiled towards me, "So we're good here?"

"I just need you to sign some papers," I said and the man nodded his head and we walked into the stable office and I handed him papers saying that Snowflake now belongs to me.

"Have fun with her," the man said and then got into his truck and left.

"So I ended up moving the reservation for the restaurant to tomorrow," Zach said and I laughed.

"I completely forgot."

"Yeah, figured you did," he said and then wrapped his arm around my shoulder, "Knew when you said you were getting a horse that your day was completely booked."

"You're the best."

"I know."
