No Sense of Direction 005:

Chapter Five

"You all right?" he asked as he walked into the house, dropped his bag and wrapped his arm around my neck and held my tight.

I sighed against his chest and wrapped my arms around his chest, "I'll be all right."

I heard people coming up behind Milan, and I pulled away and looked to see that the Bruins team was there, I gave them a sad smiled and then they walked over towards me and hugged me. Milan was going to stay at my home, but the other guys were going to stay in a hotel that was about fifteen minutes away from my home.

We walked into the kitchen, and I made a lot of coffee. The boys were suppose to get here last night, after their game, but there were no flights going to Pittsburgh, until the next morning. So it was ten in the morning and my house was ambushed but the Bruins. Later on today, Zach's team, the Carolina Hurricanes, were flying in and they were going to be staying at the same hotel as the Bruins.

The viewing was tomorrow night and the funeral was Tuesday morning. We knew that there were going to be a lot of people there, so Uncle Dan made sure to get a funeral home and church that had enough room. Three NHL teams under one roof was going to be interesting, because Uncle Dan said that the Penguins were going to be coming for him, because dad apparently helped out with the Penguins every once and a while.

As the day went on, the boys left the house to go to their hotel, except Milan. Zach had come down and nodded his head towards the boys. There was an argument that had broken out between my brother and Daniel Paille, I yelled at them, because it was about some game a few months ago.

It was late in the afternoon and I was up in my room laying on my bed with Milan, we were watching some TV and I turned the sound off because I heard some commotion downstairs.

"What's that?" I muttered while I sat up and looked to see that Milan was asleep. I gave a little smile and then got up off of my bed and left my room. The noise definitely got louder when my door was opened and I looked back towards Milan to make sure that he stayed asleep.

"Who's that?" I looked behind me and saw Chris slowly walking out of his room looking like crap, still broken up about our parents.

"I'm going to look," I said and then walked down the stairs and into the living room. I sighed and shook my head as I saw the whole Carolina Hurricanes team standing there talking loudly to my brother, "You boys don't know the definition of 'inside voice', do you?"

"Katty!" Jordan Staal announced as the blonde giant stomped over towards me and hugged my tight, picking me up off of the ground.

"Jordan, put my sister down!" Zach yelled and then walked over towards us.

-Milan-

I felt a little cold, so I woke up and looked around the room to see that I was alone. I rubbed my eyes and then walked out of the room and heard people talking downstairs. I walked down the stairs and followed the voices to see the whole Hurricane team in the kitchen.

'...You've got to be kidding me...' I thought because most of these guys hated me.

Kat noticed me first and smiled softly towards me, "You're awake," this got everyone else's attention and they turned to see me. I nodded my head and then decided that I was going to play it cool and walked passed everyone and over towards her, "Sleep well?"

"Yeah," I said as I took my place next to her and wrap an arm around her waist.

I could feel the guys staring, and I tried to hold in a smirk as their stares turned into glares.

"So you know how to get to the funeral home?" Zack asked trying to clear the tension in the air.

"No, but we all have smartphones, so we'll be fine. Just give us the address," Captain, Eric Staal, said and I saw Zach nod his head.

"Hello!" we heard and then looked to see a man walk into the house.

"In here, Uncle Dan!" Kat said and I got a better look at the man to see that he was the Penguins' Coach.

"Wow, lot of hockey players," he said and I heard Kat snort.

-Katrina-

Uncle Dan was over saying that there were going to be almost a hundred people at our parents funeral. I sighed and then decided that I couldn't listen to this, because it just got me all up set again, especially when they started to talk about if they got the driver.

I walked out of the room and up the stairs, hearing someone behind me, and then feeling Milan warp his arms around me, we wobbled to my room and I closed the door. Milan pulled my back to his chest and I placed my hands on his arms that rested on my waist.

"It's going to be all right," he whispered into my ear and I felt his hot breath on my neck.

I bit my lip and then nodded my head. I turned around and then wrapped my arms around his waist and laid my head on his chest, "Kat, when was the last time you slept?"

"I slept a little on Friday," I said and he sighed.

"That was two days ago," he said and I felt him rub my back, "How much did you get?"

"I don't know, four? Five?" I muttered and then I felt him pushing me back and I looked back to see he was pushing me towards the bed.

"There's nothing you can do now, so get some sleep," he said and I shook my head, "Why not?"

"Because every time I do, I dream about the accident, and my dad," I muttered and he held me tight.

"I'll be here, I'll wake you up," he said and I sighed and then nodded my head.

I looked up towards him and saw that he was staring down at me, Milan was about six feet tall, and I came to his shoulders, so when I wanted to kiss him, I had to stand on the tip of my toes. My lips were pressed against his and I brought my hands up and tangled them into his hair. Milan pushed me back against the bed and then I fell onto my back. He climbed on top of my and then laced my fingers with his and pinned them next to my head as his tongue battled with mine of dominance.

-Zach-

I was downstairs in the kitchen having some drinks with my team, they were talking about other things and I was only half paying attention.

"Zach!"

I looked back towards the guys and saw that Jordan was looked at me, "What?"

"Why is Lucic here?" he asked and the other guys nodded their heads.

"He's Kat's boyfriend," I explained and they all shook their heads disapproving, "Trust me, I know."

"More like she's his toy," Jiri Tlusty growled and I glared at the floor and nodded my head.

"So tomorrow's gunna be interesting," Alexander Semin said and I snorted.

"That's an understatement," I said and then guys nodded their heads.

"Three teams that don't like each other under one roof," Tim Brent said and I nodded my head.

"Why him though?" Jordan asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

"Why you so obsessed with her, Jordy?" Tim Wallace asked and I saw Eric Staal laugh.

I sighed and shook my head, "Not you too," I groaned as I realized that the blonde giant had a thing for my sister.

"No, dumbass, it's not that," Jordan growled and I looked at him waiting for him to continue, "Something happened when she was interning at the Capitals and I was there to help her, that's it."

"Why you?" I asked annoyed.

"Because I think that you were still changing," he said.

"Well, what happened?" Cam Ward asked and Jordan sighed.

"Just some reporters were giving her a hard time, that's it," he said and I shook my head.

'...That's not it...' I thought knowing that Jordan was lying to me, but deciding that I was going to go with it.

I heard someone walking down the stairs and was pleasantly surprised to see my little brother walking into the kitchen. He was a mess and I knew that he was taking our parents death very hard.

"Hey man," I said and he looked at me and nodded his head.

We watched as he walked over towards the fridge and grabbed a mountain dew and a bag of chips and then walk out of the kitchen and back up the stairs. I sighed and then rubbed my face and looked to see that my team was looking at me.

"He's not handling this well, is he?" my Captain, Eric Staal asked and I shook my head 'no'.

"Not in the slightest," I mumbled.

"Who's gunna watch over him? Doesn't he go to Pitt?" Tuomo Ruutu asked.

"I don't know what we're going to do yet. Kat said that she might leave the Bruins so that she can take care of him," I said.

"This is a big estate for two people," Joe Corvo stated and I nodded my head.

"We'll figure out what to do when the rest of the family gets here," I said and the guys nodded their heads.
