Waiting for Superman

Kylie's POV:
I tossed and turned for hours. I looked at the clock, 11:43, 17 minutes, I thought.17 minutes until it would be my wedding day. I flipped back and forth. My nerves were at an all time high. I wasn't worried about my future with Pat, I knew I wanted that. But the idea of, me, a little. blonde, journalist from Boston, marrying a Chicago Blackhawk was out of this world.

I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with Patrick.

Patrick's POV:
I couldn't sleep, I couldn't even think about sleeping. My mind was racing with the thought that I got to spend the rest of my life with the girl of my dreams. 11:52, 8 minutes. 8 minutes until I get to marry Kylie.

I tossed and turned, I couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face. 12:00am, July 15, 2014.

Its our wedding day.

"Kylie!" my bridesmaids bursts through the door and leaped onto Patrick and I's bed. "ITS YOUR WEDDING DAY!" They screamed.

"Oh my God!" I said re-doing my bun.

"Lets go!" they said.

The hair and makeup artists were setting up in the living room, while a photographer photographed the whole thing.

Erica handed each of the girls a mimosa. "To Kylie!" she said as we all drank, "God bless her for taking one for the team and marrying my brother." we all laughed.

We munched on fruit and waffles while the artists did our hair. My hair was in a soft low bun, with a silver, flower pin.

All the bridesmaids hair were done in similar style, loose, low french twists.

"Oh I almost forgot!" I said as the stylists finished curling one of the whispy hairs around my face. I got up got a bag from the kitchen and handed each of the bridesmaids a tiffany box.

"Open them!" I said. I then handed Mrs. Kane a slightly bigger blue box, she opened it and immediately began to tear. "Oh, Kylie." she said wiping her eyes. "Thank you honey," she hugged me. I had gotten Mrs. Kane a diamond charm bracelet with Patrick and I's wedding date engraved on a diamond pendant.

I had gotten all the bridesmaids a single, silver chain necklace with a single pearl.

"Kylie I love it! Thank you." Jessica said, all the girls seemed to really like them and put them on right away.

The bridesmaids were waiting in the living room, I was in Patrick and I's bedroom with Mrs. Kane and Kara as they zipped me into my dress.

"Okay" Kara said "I want to be out their for the big reveal.You look gorgeous." She said giving me a hug. I stared at myself in the floor length mirror, as Mrs. Kane came up behind me. She placed a lace veil, that I hadn't seen before in my head, it swept the floor and matched my dress perfectly.

"It was mine." she said looking at me in the mirror.

"It gorgeous." I said fingering the lace pattern."But, are you sure you don't want one of your daughters to wear it first?"

"Kylie, honey you are my daughter." we hugged, and tried not to ruin our makeup by crying.
"You're beautiful, now lets get you to the church on time."
The girls and I picked up our bouquets, on our way out of the apartment. The limo ride to the church seemed to take forever, we drank champagne and tried to laugh, but the butterflies in my stomach were growing.

This was it. Here we were, about to walk in.

"Are you ready?" Mr. Kane said taking my arm. "As I'll ever be." I smiled.

Two men in suits opened a set of big oak doors, and I saw him.

Everything else meant nothing, all the people, all the eyes staring at me. I saw the tears brimming in his eyes. We arrived at the alter, and I was practically floating.

"Wow" Patrick said starting at the bottom of my dress and moving up to my eyes. The whole ceremony all Patrick and did was stare into each others eyes.

"And do you Patrick take Kylie to be your wife?"

"I do."

"And do you Kylie take Patrick to be your husband?"

"I do."

And with those two words, I had finally found my superman.
