Cold As Ice

He Lied

Kenzie slid her key into the hole and opened the door to their apartment; she set down her luggage beside the door, and made her way over to the couch. She fell onto it exhausted, she watched as Sam walked over to the fridge, she opened, grabbed a bottle of water and then shut it.
“Kenz, Sam, is that you?” Violet called from her room, she walked out of her room and smiled once she saw her friends.
“When did you get back?” Kenzie asked, she sat up giving Sam and Violet some space to sit on the couch with her.
“About an hour ago, I’m so exhausted!” She groaned, she leaned back and kicked her feet onto the coffee table.
She shut her eyes as she thought about the week she had spent in Pittsburgh, it had gone by so fast and it all seemed like a blur. She had such a great time with Geno, and she never wanted it to end, it kept getting harder to have to say goodbye to him.
“How was Chicago?” She asked breaking out of her thoughts, Kenzie's face lit up with a huge smile at the mention of Chicago.
“It was amazing!” She gushed, “Patrick was wonderful, but Sam and Jon fought the whole time.”
Sam rolled her eyes, “We didn’t fight, we just disagreed.” She defended herself, “Besides we made up and spent the last few days as a happy couple.”
“Couple?” Violet gasped, “He asked you to be his girlfriend?” She asked.
Sam nodded her head as she grinned, “Patrick asked me too!” Kenzie jumped in stealing the spotlight, Sam laughed as the three of them gushed over now having boyfriends.
Kenzie was just about to ask Violet how her trip to Pittsburgh was but was interrupted when their apartment door was slammed shut. Kenzie looked up from the couch and watched Jordan storm to her room, she noticed the tears on her face and immediately got up.
“Jordan, what happened?” Violet asked as they all rushed to her door, Kenzie tried opening it but it was locked, they banged on the door begging Jordan to let them in.
“Go away!” Jordan shouted she paced around her room as her tears fell; she sat on the edge of her bed and held her face in her hands.

“She’s still in there?” Kayla asked Fiona and Ariel watched her carefully as she spoke to Violet; Kayla nodded her head understanding what Violet was saying, “We’re on our way.”
“What happened?” Fiona asked as soon as Kayla hung up.
“Jordan locked herself in her room; no one knows what happened she came home about half an hour ago in tears and went straight to her room.” Kayla explained as she slipped on her shoes.
“I’m going to kill him!” Fiona hissed, she grabbed her shoes and jacket and put them on.
“Who?” Kayla asked not following along.
“Jake, clearly he did something.” Fiona explained, “And I’m going to kill him.”
Ariel grabbed her keys off the counter, “Fiona and I will go kill Jake and you should go help the other girls and see if you can get Jordan to come out of her room.”
Kayla nodded her head; she left her apartment and made her way over to Jordan’s. It only took her a few minutes to reach her apartment; she walked in unannounced and watched as all three girls stood outside Jordan’s bedroom begging her to come out.
“Where are Ariel and Fiona?” Violet asked once she noticed Kayla had come alone.
“They went to go kill Jake.” Kayla explained, she walked over to Jordan’s door and knocked on it gently, “Jords? Please come out, we want to help.”
“We’ve tried everything,” Kenzie sighed, she ran her fingers through her long brown hair, she sat down on a nearby stool, she felt so helpless not being able to do anything to make her friend feel better.
“Jordan, I swear to God if you don’t open this door we will break it down!” Sam shouted, she was fed up with playing nice, they tried being understanding and caring but nothing was working, if they had to break down the door then so be it.
Sam smiled to herself as they heard the door unlock, Jordan slowly opened it and let the girls in. She walked back over to her bed and got under her covers sheltering her face from her friends. Kayla walked over and sat beside Jordan, she comforted her friend as she cried.
“He lied,” She cried, “He lied about everything, he never loved me, I was just a part of some stupid game. He just wanted to hurt me.”

Jordan laughed and shoved Morgan, “That’s not fair! I was drunk!”
Morgan laughed, “You were more than drunk Jords.” He shook his head as he opened his apartment door, he let Jordan walk in before him.
“I’m going to go see if Jake’s awake yet.” Jordan announced she made her way over to his bedroom; she was excited to finally see him after him being away due to his games. She knocked on his door before walking in; she stopped in her tracks as she noticed he wasn’t alone.
“Go away Morgan!” Jake groaned as he shoved his face into his pillow, he expected to hear some stupid remark from Morgan and looked up once he didn’t get it.
His eyes bulged as he saw Jordan standing in his doorway; she looked just as shocked as he was, he quickly got out of bed and made his way over to her.
“Jordan let me explain.” He pleaded.
“How the fuck are you going to explain this?” She shouted, Jake shushed her; he didn’t want her to wake up Anne.
Jake cursed himself as he heard Anne stir, “What’s going on?” She asked, he had severely messed up now.
“You’re a fucking asshole you know that.” Jordan spat in his face, she shoved him as he tried to get closer to him.
Jordan’s anger raised as she heard Anne laugh, “You must be Jordan,” She laughed.
“Yeah. What’s so funny?” Jordan hissed.
“What’s funny is you actually think he loves you, you’re just another girl to sleep with, that’s all you’ll ever be.” She chuckled.
“Shut up Anne!” Jake spat.
Jordan looked at Jake in disbelief, she had actually fallen for his lies, and this was what he wanted all along. She had been warned from the very begging, Jake Gardiner didn’t care for anyone about himself, he didn’t love her.
“Was this what you wanted? For me to fall in love with you, just so you could break me?” She cried.
“Don’t take it personally sweetie, you’re not the first girl he’s done this too.” Anne smirked.
“Fuck off!” Jake shouted at Anne, he turned back to Jordan and his eyes softened, “Just let me explain.” He pleaded.
"I hope you're happy." Jordan shook her head as tears welled up in her eyes, she knew she’d cry at any given moment and she couldn’t let him see her cry. She turned her back to him and left, she passed by Morgan who had heard everything.
“I’m sorry Jords.” He said sincerely.
“I am too.”
